The popular dish scored a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars in the website’s ranking of 50 best soups. The website described Khao soi as “a signature dish of Northern Thailand”, which is “a delicious coconut soup in which numerous regional influences were combined to create a truly spectacular dish. The base of the soup is a slightly spicy broth which combines coconut milk and red curry paste”. “The broth is served with flat egg noodles and a choice of meat, which usually includes chicken, beef, and pork. A female surviving victim of the Mountain B fire that as of now killed 14 people, including 13 inside the pub and 1 at a hospital, has come out to voice her gruesome experience while hanging out inside the pub before all hell broke loose. “I was drinking with my friend inside Mountain B,” the victim told a famous TV host. “It was around midnight; the pub was fairly dark, but not so crowded. I sat with my back facing a musical stage, drinking and chatting, and suddenly I heard a deafening blast that turned every head to the stage where the band also came to a halt.” Sustaining no injuries, the surviving victim continued, “This was when it happened. A chunk of ceiling covered in flame fell onto the stage and was followed by several other pieces, all were in flame like fire rain. Sattahip Fatal Pub Fire Disaster; Allegations Of Illegal Operations By Editor The Mountain B pub that burned down early Friday morning, killing 14 people and injuring 38 others, was illegally built and operated. Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda said the Mountain B pub, in the Satthahip district of Chonburi, did not have a pub licence and was built in an area where entertainment venues were prohibited. “Officials are checking details of the building, including its design, construction materials used, control systems and fire exits. I told them to find the cause of the fire and the people responsible for it,” said Gen Anupong. One of the survivors is reported to have said that before the disaster music was being playing and the pub’s patrons dancing but then a fire broke out in the ceiling followed by multiple explosions. The reports suggests that the explosions immediately killed several people. Others were trapped by the raging fire as they tried to escape the scene. Comments have been made that the Mountain B Pub had only one entrance and exit during the fire as the rear exit behind the music stage was locked. Additionally comments have described the interior being decorated with highly inflammable acoustic foam panels. Pol Maj Gen Atthasit Kitjahan, commander of the Chonburi police, said the premises were licensed to operate as an eatery, and had been illegally altered and used as an enclosed entertainment place. He said the building was almost completely destroyed, including the interior structure and decor, soundproofing, stage and ceiling tiles. Police attempted to inspect in late on Friday morning, but had to withdraw when the fire briefly flared up again. Investigators had questioned the staff and owner of the pub, eyewitnesses and the electrician who was earlier hired to repair the building’s power system, he said. The fire erupted about 1am on Friday, when more than 100 customers were still inside. Witnesses said the blaze was first noticed on the roof, and spread quickly through the soundproofing foam. Fourteen people were confirmed killed in the blaze and 38 others injured, according to the provincial disaster prevention and mitigation office in Chon Buri, down from early reports of 40-41 injured. Of the 38 people confirmed as injured, 20 were seriously hurt as they were dependent on ventilators and had severe burns, Chonburi public health chief Apirat Katanyutanon said on Friday afternoon. Twelve seriously injured people were transferred to hospitals in Bangkok. According to Newin Chochaiyathip, an assistant to the minister of DES, Sabin Sarmas, president of the Information Technology and Communications Committee of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, made the kind gesture. Supot Tiarawut, president and chief executive officer of the Digital Government Development Agency, and a group of high-ranking officials were also present at the gathering. Sarmas, who was accompanied by Bogdan Badea, the Romanian Ambassador to Thailand at the meeting, is the designated chair of the 2022 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference to be held in Bucharest. Newin congratulated Romania’s hosting of the upcoming ITU conference from September 26 to October 14 while informing the Romanian delegation that Thailand would send a delegation, led by DES Ministry deputy permanent secretary Nattapon Nattasomboon, to the event.
