Daily News Thai Capyion: Bangkok's CCTV Deputy government spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek went on her page to inform the public in Bangkok how to get files from BMA CCTV cameras in the Thai capital. First people who are the victims of crime need to go to report matters to the police in the area where the crime occurred and get notice of the camera number and the times. Then they can make a request along with details of their Thai ID to cctv.bangkok.go.th or CCTVBANGKOK on the Line app, reported Daily News. Files can be obtained within 24 hours though there are restrictions on the number of cameras that can be accessed at one time (6) and a three hour time limit to video. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-19 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Sanook Thai Caption: They must make an appeal to the thieves Sanook reported that the owner of a beauty clinic in Muang district of Udon Thani is so fed up with repeated burglaries that they have put up a sign for the thieves begging for relief. "Please would you mind leaving the air-conditioners next time". The Phaya Clinic has been hit ten times in three months the latest being last week. This despite the fact that the shop is supposed to be under the protection of Royal Thai Police chief Gen Suwat Chaengyodsuk's much vaunted Smart Safety Zone 4.0 crime busting system. Critics of the system have said it is little more than glorified CCTV rather than an innovation in community policing as claimed by the top brass. Nadol, 29, the owner has called the police multiple times but they have proven to be completely useless. They are even saying rude, facetious and unhelpful things according to the owner such as: ""Why do you keep calling us - are you a call center?" -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-19 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. UPDATE: Points System For Traffic Offences Coming; But What About Enforcement? Points System For Traffic Offences Coming; But What About Enforcement? By Editor In early 2023, Thailand’s Royal Thai Police will launch a traffic points system aimed at improving driving discipline and to curb road accidents. Although efforts to improve Thailand’s horrendous road toll are to be applauded, there remains a need for the enforcement of traffic regulations, including the legal requirement for motor cycle riders to wear a helmet. Starting January 9th next year, every driver will be given 12 points, which will be reduced if they violate traffic rules, according to Highway Police Division chief Pol Maj Gen Ekkarat Limsangkat. He says ‘’disruptive driving behaviours’’, such as speeding, failing to stop at zebra crossings and not fastening a seatbelt, can lead to a one-point deduction. Two points will be taken away for running red lights or driving in the wrong direction on one-way streets, while three points will be taken away for illegal racing on public streets. Serious violations such as drunk driving carry a maximum penalty of four points. A driver who loses all 12 points will have their licence suspended for 90 days, and the deducted points will be restored 12 months after they are removed. Earlier this month, a new regulation resulting in an automatic 90-day suspension of driving licenses took effect. Such suspensions would apply for violations that pose a serious risk of danger to the public. This might be when violators attempt to flee after causing damage to others or public property during a road accident. Driving without a license could result in a three-month jail term and a fine of 10,000 baht. He also said that the prison term for repeat offenders caught driving under the influence has been increased to two years, with the fine raised from 50,000 baht to 100,000 baht. More details can be found at https://ptm.police.go.th/eTicket or via the government e-wallet application called Pao Tang, Pol Maj Gen Ekkarat said. Picture: Thai Rath Five people - including the chief of police in Mae Hong Son, northern Thailand are facing charges of collusion to commit fraud. It is alleged that a British man in detention paid 6 million baht in exchange for his freedom - but he remains in the custody of the immigration police. Ritesh Patel, 39, was arrested at the end of June with a fake British passport. It was discovered he was wanted in the UK and by Interpol on drugs charges. Phone calls and bank transfers were allegedly made to secure his release for 6 million baht. Pol Maj-Gen Surachate Hakpan, a senior assistant commander of the RTP known as Big Joke - told Thai Rath that Pol Col Ramet Kaewsungnoen was one of those arrested. There are four others in the alleged plot, all civilians. Ramet reportedly used the name of Surachate to try and persuade immigration to release the suspect. Surachate was once the chief of immigration. A woman called Thirawan initially tried to get bail for the Briton who later sought help from a man called Thanawat who promised a connection to Ramet who was a former classmate of Surachate in intake 47 at the police academy. It was mentioned that 6 million baht must be paid for the release of the suspect from a Bang Khen detention center. Thirawan filed a complaint after the money was paid and the supect had not been released. The 6 million baht has been found to have been remitted to third party accounts before it found its way into the policeman's and his family's accounts as well as that of co-conspirators, police allege. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-19 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Picture: Thai Rath A drama has developed at a school in northern Thailand where it was admitted that a 6th form pupil was selling weed. Smoking of the now decriminalized drug was going on so much at the Hang Chat Witthaya School - that has 500 students - that parents went to Pheu Thai MP for the area Phairoj Losunthorn. Thai Rath said that students were smoking all day and lethargic, forgetting their studies. On Tuesday the director of the school Jaichai Punnapong said that the M6 girl had sold loose weed to others at the school then switched to extracts. There were bag checks being done at the flagpole each morning but some weed was slipping through. The student involved was warned that ganja was not allowed on school premises but this fell on deaf ears. The father has now removed the girl from the school and is seeking to continue her education elsewhere. People are calling for the committee formulating laws to hurry up. The law was changed on June 9th but there are rules in place to stop anyone under 20 buying marijuana products in Thailand and it is banned in all schools. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-19 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m.
