When she returned the baby was in his cot but died by 3 pm. Koji has many charges for drugs against his name. The pair have been separated as they give evidence after many inconsistencies in the mother's evidence arose. She initially claimed that Koji was out when police arrived but he was hiding in the house. He denied attacking the child. The body of the infant was handed to Poh Teck Tung rescue for an autopsy at Sirirat Hospital. Investigations continue. The event was observed by Ms. Thitilak Khampha, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, and Mr. Banlue Kullawanit, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, and attended by dozens of relevant agencies, including those in the adult industry and sex worker activists. Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe The objective behind this seminar was to raise the issues of the enforcement of the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996 in order to illustrate solutions to the law and to receive opinions that will pave the way to fix its enforcement and make it more reasonable in the future, according to those attending. For a long time in Thailand prior to 1960, prostitution had been in the light and accepted by law and society, but due to the expansion of tourism, economy, community, and politics, many problems had spurted from prostitution in which Thailand agreed to follow and conduct a law known as the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1960. However, this law was later revoked and re-enacted as the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996. Tuesday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 3,226,697 with 23,848 deaths. The news comes as the Thai Medical Sciences Department has found four possible cases of infection by the BA.2.2 strain of the COVID-19 Omicron sub-variant in Thailand, but has asked the public not to panic because BA.2.2 is not yet regarded as a variant of concern, said the department’s head, Dr. Supakit Sirilak today (Monday). The strain was found in one foreigner and three Thais, with confirmation still pending. He said, presently, there is insufficient information to assess the severity or transmissibility of the strain accurately.* *Thai PBS contributed to this report Discover Cigna’s range of health insurance solutions created for expats and local nationals living in Thailand - click to view Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-03-15 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. 17. 18. by Michael Bridge We keep reading about the various Covid viruses going the rounds and a few of my friends here in Thailand caught it just after New Year, when many got together to celebrate. Having had a cocktail of vaccinations including Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna in 2021, I seemed to have escaped. Then a week ago I woke up with a tickly throat which initially I thought could be due to the severe poor air quality the day before in Thailand. I did an Antigen test which showed negative, however, the next morning I still felt rough, and a 2nd test was positive. Initially, I went on Google to read up on Omicron’s symptoms, and the food and drink they suggested, luckily I had already. That night I was coughing a lot and sweating and so took Paracetamol and Strepsils and eventually decided sitting up was better than lying down. I was not too concerned as the general rule these days was to self-isolate and tough it out. Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe Having only one kidney, when the Delta virus was rampant last year I was concerned, however, my own feelings now were almost of relief that at last, I had joined the virus club. The biggest issue was the cough, hot sweats, sneezing, and a few mild headaches. But to be honest back in the UK I have had a worse experience with just regular influenza. After about five days, I felt back to normal, but the advice is to leave it for around 7 days before venturing out again and wear a mask at all times. For the record, my health insurance would have covered me if I paid the first THB40K and I also had a separate cover for THB100K. That said personally I would have felt more intimated having to go to the hospital unless I was in distress of course. Thailand Detects 4 Suspected Cases of BA 2.2 Variant BANGKOK, (TNA) – Thailand found four suspected cases of BA 2.2 sub-lineage of BA.2 variant of Omicron, discovered in Hong Kong, said Director-general of the Department of Medical Sciences, Supakit Sirilak.
