  6. By Paul Rujopakarn BANGKOK (NNT) - A recent survey by the Department of Health Service Support (HSS) showed teenagers favor having unprotected intercourse as part of Valentine’s Day celebrations. The department also stressed the importance of providing proper sexual education to youths. The survey, with a sample size of 1,000 participants aged 12-18, indicated that 88.9% of respondents said they intended to consume alcoholic beverages on the romantic holiday and were hoping to perform intercourse afterwards. The poll also said 68.2% of those surveyed were considering having unprotected sex on Valentine’s Day, while 40% said having experiencing intimacy on such a day was to be expected. 39.1% said they planned to lose their virginity on Valentine’s Day. The survey reflects a common belief among teenagers that drinking alcohol leads into sexual intercourse. The HSS explained that alcoholic beverages negatively affect the brain’s functions, slowing down movement and critical decision-making processes. This can ultimately lead to having unprotected sex, contracting sexual transmitted illnesses and even unplanned pregnancy. Additionally, the department said gatherings on the occasion will likely increase the chance of spreading COVID-19. The HSS has called for all sides to raise awareness and provide teens with appropriate sex education and information. Safe sex, contraceptives and teen pregnancies are among the most essential concerns. The department also said sex is a responsibility and should only happen when an individual is ready. -- © Copyright NNT 2022-02-14 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. He then returned with a gun to shoot him dead. Three shots were fired. Seriously injured at the scene in Soi Sai Luat, Soi 8 in Pak Nam, Samut Prakan was Methi, 30 from Chiang Rai. He had been shot several times next to a washing machine. He was being cradled by his partner Sawitri, 37, when rescue and police arrived. He died later in a local hospital. He fled on a motorcycle parked nearby. Sawitri's mother Daeng, 71, said her daughter and Lertchai had been together for many years before they split up 3-4 months ago. Their children aged 19 and 20 had gone to live with Lertchai while her daughter had moved in with her new man in the area. The shooter was arrested by police about one kilometer away and admitted the killing saying he was "resentful". He claimed to have got the gun two years ago at a fesitival. Though Thailand likes to boast about its beautiful locations and diverse environments as major selling points to international movie and commercial productions, the biggest drawing points for foreign films to Thailand has been our crew. From grips to costumes to props to set construction, decades of experience have contributed to a mature and highly competitive industry. That is why Thai film crews are even flown abroad to places like Malaysia, Vietnam and South Korea to work on film production. The daily routine started in December following the completion of the rail link that took five years to build. In the northeast of Thailand, a planned rail line is being constructed to connect with the Laos section. The route, part of Beijing’s global trade strategy known as the Belt and Road Initiative, aims to connect Chinese trade and tourists to mainland Southeast Asia and through to the Strait of Malacca. But in Thailand, it could be at least a decade before Vientiane and the Thai capital Bangkok, situated more than 600km apart, could be connected via the high speed railway. Nothing has changed after the death of Dr Kratai in Phayathai - everyone, especially motorcyclists are still ignoring the crossings. Siam Rath went to a crossing in Saphan Mai - another area of Bangkok - where the previous night a pedestrian and a motorcyclist were seiously injured. It was business as usual in daylight despite there being plenty of signage, warning signs and flashing lights. There was even a red flag for pedestrians to use. Motorclyclist were ignoring traders and members of the public crossing to entrance 2 at the Yingcharoen Market as reporters watched. The media said some had to run for their lives as the lawless riders did as they pleased. They quoted one local who blamed two wheel riders mostly. She said that she was forced to run when using the crossing. Hardly anyone stopped and she usually waited until there was a crowd before trying to cross. Picture: Siam Rath Earlier the same media Siam Rath had a report of the accident at the crossing where two people were injured. One was a 48 year old rider, another a 35 year old pedestrian. 22. Critics have complained for years that the Thai liquor market is monopolized by a handful of giant producers because Thai laws favor big investors. (Photo by YesMore Content on Unsplash) Widely dubbed the “Progressive Liquor Bill”, a new draft law on excise tax is tipped to revolutionize Thailand’s alcohol industry if it sails through Parliament untouched. Thailand’s booze market is now worth about Bt260 billion, but in normal times before the arrival of COVID-19 it weighed in at a whopping Bt370 billion in 2019. Critics have complained for years that the market is monopolized by a handful of giant producers because Thai laws favor big investors. For instance, beer manufacturers are required to have at least Bt10 million in registered capital. Meanwhile brewpubs – manufacturers that also sell their craft beer – must produce at least 100,000 liters a year. And under current rules, factories must produce a minimum of 10 million liters per year. Similar regulations apply to manufacturers of spirits.
