Prime Minister Srettha asked the public to help combat the country's air pollution, by taking public transport, as air pollution worsened during the last few days. The PM said “We have to deal with the problem rather than wait for the pollution to subside on its own” 44 provinces reported unhealthy levels of ultrafine air pollution yesterday. The government will consider what questions, and the methods required to hold one or more referendums in order to amend the constitution. This follows a court ruling that a referendum would be required before amendments could be made to the charter.. The cabinet is due to present its findings to the election commission. Police are coordinating with Interpol to find and arrest two men from the Cameroon allegedly involved in the murder of a Myanmar businessman at an apartment in bangkok on Tuesday night, The two apparently took a flight to Singapore on Wednesday morning. The victim from Myanmar was found with facial and head wounds, a witness who claimed to be the foster mother of the victim told police the suspects also strangled her until she lost consciousness. The Anti-Money Laundering Office has seized over 2.5 billion baht worth of assets from individuals who were allegedly colluding in fraud. The assets include land and deposits in several bank accounts. The seizure follows previous investigations and assets seized last November. Legal action is due against seven employees from one company and five other companies for forgery, fraud, embezzlement and money laundering. On February 15th, Lieutenant Colonel Nonthanat Chomchuen, Deputy Superintendent of Phe Police Station, Rayong Province, received a report of a tourist falling from a height and dying at a resort on Koh Samet, Moo 4, Tambon Phe, Amphoe Mueang, Rayong Province. Authorities rushed to the scene with investigative teams, Rayong Hospital physicians, and representatives from the Suan Phra Kukson Foundation, reported Siam Rath. They found an injured foreigner, identified as Mr. Lao, 39 years old, a Chinese national, lying unconscious on the ground floor after falling from a second-floor balcony, sustaining severe head injuries. Initial inquiries revealed that resort staff heard a loud thud and upon investigation found the unconscious man. They immediately notified authorities for assistance. Police conducted a thorough investigation at the scene and transferred the body to Rayong Hospital. Pattaya — A serious traffic accident occurred on Road 331, inbound to Sattahip, near Pattaya this morning, involving a collision between a sidecar motorcycle and a sedan driven by a Kuwaiti tourist. On February 15th, 2024, rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to a traffic accident on Road 331 and found a blue Honda Wave 110 sidecar motorcycle. The vehicle, loaded with plastic bottles, sustained significant damage, including a severely mangled sidecar and shattered glass scattered around the area. The Thai driver, identified as Mr. Suk Aoykam, 64 , suffered severe injuries, including a large head wound and a nearly severed right leg. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid and quickly transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The ambitious initiative, divided into four phases, will involve the installation of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes beneath the road surface and the relocation of existing structures for improved functionality and aesthetics. Phase 1 kicks off the project with the installation of 1,725 meters of HDPE pipes stretching from the Tops Daily convenience store to the Jomtien Sub Police Station Branch at Dong Tan Curve. This phase has a completion timeframe of 14 months. Phase 2 focuses on a shorter 555-meter section, laying HDPE pipes from the D Varee Hotel to the Tops Daily convenient store within 5 months. Phase 3 expands further, covering 1,990 meters and reaching Soi Na Jomtien 19 over a 17-month period. Finally, Phase 4 constructs a drainage system near the D Varee Hotel, requiring a 24-month construction timeline. Nithit Sriranil, a traffic police officer on duty, publicly revealed that there was a loud bang like a gunshot from the middle of the red light intersection at Na Ranong Square. A group of three teens riding two motorbikes were spotted attempting to physically attack another teen in school uniform, said Pol. Lt. Nithit. The three suspects carried sharp objects and went after the victim in school uniform. Pol. Lt. Nithit decided to intimidate them with his police pistol and shouted for them to stop. As a result, the group of suspects fled away and the victim was unharmed. Srettha has earlier confided to some of his personal associates that he would rather choose to dissolve the House instead of stepping down in face of possibility a legislation to find a sum of 500 billion baht in loan to finance the Pheu Thai populist handout campaign was eventually rejected by a majority of lawmakers, said the partisan source who only spoke on condition of anonymity. Given the purported magnitude of the populist project pledged by the core coalition partner to the people nationwide during last year’s electoral campaign, the planned legislation is ultimately supposed to sail through both the executive and legislative branches otherwise the Pheu Thai-backed prime minister would merely opt out by dissolving the House so that a nationwide election may be held in 60 days. Instead of resigning in the face of a possible fiasco over the contentious populist handout campaign, Srettha would rather return the power to the people, thus putting an end to the current Pheu Thai-led coalition government after less than a year in power following last year’s election. The Public Health Minister, Chonlnan Srikaew, reported that the proposal to cancel the time limit for alcohol sales was submitted to the ministry and the Office of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Despite objections from various groups, a meeting must be held to explore the possibility of lifting the restrictions. Cholnan ensured that he and other relevant departments would listen to public opinions and prioritise public health and safety. The meeting to discuss the topic was held today, February 15, but there was no clear conclusion or direction launched from the authorities. The Director General of the Disease Control Department, Thongchai Kiratihattayakorn, stated that the ministry had not yet decided on the removal of the time limit. A two-day ordeal of domestic abuse in Nonthaburi ended with police intervention after a 13 year old boy mistakenly dialled the emergency number while seeking medical help for his mother. The woman, a landlady, was found locked in a room and severely beaten by her younger, drug-addicted partner who was suspected of infidelity. In the quiet soi of Samakkhi 49, Nonthaburi province, a harrowing incident of domestic violence unfolded, leading to a much-needed police rescue. Yesterday at 7.30pm, officers from Rattanathibet Police Station were alerted to a case of a woman being physically assaulted and confined for two days. Rushing to the scene, they discovered the 49 year old landlady in a physically battered state, her face swollen from the violent attack. The woman, whose full name is withheld for privacy, revealed that her boyfriend, identified only as A, was the perpetrator. He had become increasingly paranoid while under the influence of drugs, convinced that she was secretly communicating with another man.
