The aprox costs for a off grid battery "1200 watt solarpanel" installation is: panels 4*4000 - 16000 baht, battery for solar panel use min. 6-8000 baht, inverter/controller 6-8000 baht, cables etc 4-5000 baht, installation ? total around 35000 -40000 for a DIY installation

I would calculate the peak power need  (freezer + frigerator + blender + wifi + etc) maybe around 1200 watt, then you have an idea what size of panel you need, if a panel gives 300 watt you will need 4 panels to go off grid, but you can not calculate with the 300 watt at a panel, because that is only when the sun is in the optimal angel at the panel, I would calculate with around 200 watt (on a 300 watt panel) a panel in the day/suntime, so in this simple calculation you will need 6 300 watt panels. If you will charge a battery then you will need more panels. This is the most simple calculation.

The freezer blender etc is not running the hole time, if you have battery installation, you can use the battery to the peak situations, take out the blender of the calculation, then you will need around 300 watt + battery charge power, depends on the battery size but lets say around total around 6-800 watt solar panels needed then you will need 4 300 watt panels, still simple calculation.

It could be interesting to see informations about how much money people is using on a traditional thai wedding.

What part is paying what, at these thai weddings. It looks that it is very important to show a lot of cash money, and the money must come from the male side, after the wedding the money is going to the female family. I know about a guy who take his money back at the end of the wedding, he never get good friend with his wifes family 555, but maybe a way to keep the costs down.

If you want to stay in a third world country, you can not expect the same safenes as in the western world. That you had to understand and live with, if you want your life here.

You shall not be a doormat, but you had to show good behaviour and respect to the local culture.

I had one experience with the police, in an traffic accident. I must brake hard for a young thai on a little motorbike, who was playing on the bike and then was falling just in the front of my car, I blocked the brakes and get 4 sleeping thai cars up in my ash. All the thai drivers think I was driving wrong, I did not go in to any discussions, I said to them lets wait the police and the insurance. The insurance guy was fair, but the police would not talk anything, it was clear that they waited that the farrang should accept to pay what the assurance would not pay. Then I suggest to go to the policestation and write a report for court use, then we moved to the policestation and the police was not happy to begin to write, but they can not denie it even you are a farrang, after two-three hours talk the police began to write the report, and began to talk about who was guilty in the accident. After three hours they began to talk that the farrang was not guilty in the accident, it was clear they where not happy about this and they would have being much more happy if I had taken the blame for the accident without writing any thing.

My point is: You can not expect fairness from the police as a farrang. Do not get upset but be patient and persistent in talks with the police. Have some minimum knowledge about how law, court and police works in the country you live in. Have control over what you are doing and avoid stupid situations with Thais, some times better to look the other way or give the other cheek.

I have also problem with some thai sites and not going to any political sites.

It seems that cargo can cross the borders. I dont know how it works in your case, but still, the bordres is open for cargo, there must be a way to do it.

With the STV rules there is no international tourism.

The international longstayers get more and more problems to stay.

Seems that they do not want any tourism in the country.

Before covid I normally get a cold/flu 2-3 times a year.

After Covid I has taken social distance serious, between people I do not know, and I have not get cold/flu since covid started, that is a new and better situation to me because of Covid.

I think they will get a long nose, these elite hotels, the wealthy western people have higher demands to lifequality, than sit 2 weeks in a prisonlike hotel in Thailand.

Funny that Thailand now should be a place for very wealthy people, it has not being the last years or maybe never, what has changed ?

Thailands main tourism up to the covid was discount tourism from China, sextourism from the hole world and low-middleclass chartertourists and backpackers, that is what I have seen i Thailand, maybe I am wrong.
