  1. Please rewrite your opening post properly. It is incredibly vague and severely lacking detail. You are claiming to be a company executive new to Thailand but your writing style meanders from stoner to long-time resident to wellness coach. This topic won't fly but have a think and try again. I am sure you can do better.
  2. Offer a green one. I bet they don't drink it.
  3. In Thai "reuang phua mia". Little or no police involvement as long as they survive.
  4. What is going on in that photo? 🫣
  5. A long time ago, I filed 2 years' returns to reclaim a small amount of withholding tax deducted from bank interest. I filed it at the Revenue Dept. The officer did everything. She also fined me 200 Baht for filing the first of the two years late! And told me not to do it again! 😃
  6. I also think graveyards are interesting and great places to pop in and visit. Was this a specifically Christian graveyard or mixed? I note all bar one of the foreigner headstones are made in the same style. Perhaps the same person is footing the bill or just the same headstone maker is used. I recently visited a Chinese cemetery in Sri Racha. I was having a whale of a time looking at the gravestones and admiring the scenery (water in front; hills at the back; all very Chinese) when a pack of around 8 nasty dogs appeared out of nowhere. I had to make a hasty retreat.
  7. Don't go to Phuket. The taxi drivers behave in a criminal manner.
  8. Yes, according to the video released by Immigration, "proper visas" are non-immigrant visas and DTV's. All the other visas and visa exempts are therefore outside the "proper visa" category. My own rule of thumb for what Immigration call "staying too long" is over 50% of your time staying in Thailand for a period exceeding six months. Exceed this without a "proper visa" and you could be denied entry.
  9. What are you saying? I suggest you avoid Phuket.
  10. People are trying to make sense of the rules but the rules constantly change, are not consistent and are very vague. I don't think a rich Norwegian planning to stay in Thailand in 3 and a half months over the bitter Northern winter is abusing the rules when her pre-trip research told her it was possible with an in-out border bounce.
  11. I agree. My limit is the provincial border for Phuket. I will not cross it.
  12. F**k all f**k off? It does not really make any sense.
  13. Try to avoid Phuket. If you must go, do not use any form of taxi. The drivers are criminals. It is the worst province in Thailand.
  14. The motorbike was going fast. Impossible to say if he was exceeding the speed limit. Too fast to brake anyway. He had no idea what the car was going to do as it trundled across a 4-lane highway. So, at that point, he was screwed. They have added dramatic music to the video.
  15. I would be very surprised if any Shinawatra, least of all Yingluck, are ever incarcerated. The sentences are just part of the power play. The minions on the other hand....
  16. Right, I am with it now. Multi-clause sentences can cause ambiguity. 🤪 (to me)
  17. Remember Immigration has denied many holders of tourist visas entry to Thailand if they "stay too long" or are deemed to be living in Thailand. As a very rough rule of thumb, have you spent over half the last few months or years in Thailand on VE's and TV's? If so, you may be pulled aside for questioning, warning or even denial of entry. The point here is holding a tourist visa certainly does not guarantee you entry whilst a safe entry service will. A tourist visa is not in the category of "a proper visa" for long stay according to Immigration. I am not trying to be difficult or argumentative here, but there is a myth that if you hold a tourist visa, you will not be denied entry. This is absolutely not the case. So I am trying to dispel the myth.
  18. I believe so. However, the juristic person and the committee will have a policy on this. Given this is Central Pattaya, i.e. tourist central, I doubt the law would be enforced and short term stays and the revenue they bring would be enthusiastically encouraged!
  19. Those Lopburi monkeys are aggressive towards humans. They rip hairbands out, grab bags and jump all over people to do it. Watch out.
  20. You'll be fine. I think I recall you stated your final destination was Nong Khai. There are share taxis to Udon chiefly on the Laos side. If you get one of these you go through as a car passenger rather than a pedestrian. I am sure they would do you a price to your destination. I always thought going through in a share taxi was more likely to succeed than on the shuttle bus as a foot passenger. I don't know if this is true though. Good luck.
  21. There is the possibility that the booking agency was fraudulent and the condo knew nothing. Irrespective, a beating from several security guards cannot be justified. Restrain if absolutely necessary.
