  1. Whilst this is a fantastic idea that I totally agree with, I drew some rather more pertinent lessons from this tale.
  2. So after he promised to pay a paltry 35,000 Baht, which was probably less then the cost of damage and clean-up, he was released to do it again. No court case, no deportation, no criminal proceedings, no fine. The police probably thought their time was better spent on more lucrative activities.
  3. That is the issue. By equating themselves with gays, trans are attempting to attain rights at the expense of, primarily, women, but also gay people. This was the smartest move by the trans strategists to equate their struggle to the discrimination against homosexuals. You seem to have fallen for it. It ultimately allows men to access women-only spaces. This is a repeat of the early 70's when paedophiles claimed they were "discriminated against" and they were the victims. Nowadays, women are the victims here not trans. Women who wish to get changed at work, who wish to use the toilet, who wish to compete in sport, who are locked up in prison should not be expected to see naked blokes who simply claim they are a woman. Also you have fallen for the resident doctors' statement. If you read the ruling by the Supreme Court, it stresses that the ruling is not a victory for one group over another.
  4. Stonewall have mounted a very successful campaign over the last few years (rather like the NRA in the US) in ensuring they have "allies" inside organisations and public bodies and quangos. Failure to support them or even simply being indifferent and they will attack you and attempt to have you removed from that position or board. You can be sure this statement which has come from the resident doctors (i.e. junior doctors) of the BMA will come from a committee which has been infiltrated by trans "allies".
  5. Donald : "Vladmir, Sir, may I have permission to say I am 'disappointed' with you in the press? I have to appear less one-sided." Vladmir : "Permission granted" Donald : "Thank you, Sir."
  6. The Chinese are famous for this crime. It seems a very odd choice of location to go 'on the rob'. Everyone can see you and you can't run away. It must be related to the Chinese tendency to carry large amounts of cash and valuables with them.
  7. Assuming a 'triple lock' average annual increase of 3%, after 10 years, an annual pension of £10,000 should become 10,000 x (1.03)^10 = £13,439. So, the pensioner living in Thailand is losing £3439/13439 = 25.6% of his pension in Year 10. I would say that is significant. (Funny how people always choose the highest rate of exchange when mentioning exchange rates. It hasn't been over 50 Baht to the £ in the last 5 years!)
  8. Actually no. Sexual abuse survivors have massively higher rates of mental illness, suicide and self-destructive behaviour than the wider populace. The worse and more sustained the abuse, the higher the above rates are.
  9. Why are there several anti-vaccination threads? This is a ridiculous fad based on political ideology and mistrust of authorities. It seems to be popular amongst those leaning to the current version of the hard right but is not limited to this group as it is also popular amongst blacks. (an unusual alliance) It lacks any scientific evidence and indeed flies in the face of it. Social media has sadly replaced critical thinking in the minds of many.
  10. Is this related to the other foreigner-on-foreigner stabbing in Phra Tamnak very recently reported? The one where the Irish guy got stabbed?
  11. Very strong evidence from every European country would confirm strong enforced motorbike licencing legislation, pushing the age and conditions for getting a licence to ride motorbikes up in a tiered fashion dramatically reduces injuries and fatalities from crashes.
  12. I hope the SRT take every satang he owes them in damages. I doubt he has any insurance other than the mandatory minimum and even if he did, I doubt they would cover dangerous driving like that. What a moron.
  13. At Chonburi (Jomtien), TM30 and COR in 2 hours. Bangkok Bank Account with a non-O and a COR should be fine. I do not know the current waiting time for a DLT appointment. It depends what you want. If using Chonburi, you have the choice of Pattaya and Sri Racha. Sri Racha is often less busy than Pattaya.
  14. You want 'toxic'. Get on Truth Social!
  15. What are those little marks above the F and above and below the a? What notation system do they hail from? BTW it is ฝรั่ง, if you wish for precision. I feel 'farang' is a perfect transliteration.
  16. Depending on what Skype service you were using, the service may have already ended. That is the case for me. My monthly subscription was not taken in early April and the service ended a few days later. Next you need to specify what service you used to use Skype for. The replacement service you choose will greatly depend on which countries you are calling and what your requirements are. For me, I used Skype to phone UK landlines. This was 90% of my Skype use. Teams was no use at all in this situation. I found WebcallDirect provided a service at a similar price. I have tested the service out and it works. So I am going with them. If you are phoning outside of Europe and not phoning landlines, you will probably find WebcallDirect is not for you.
  17. Wouldn't this require a change in the law rather than just an Immigration Department decision?
  18. US Immigration have always been exceptionally aggressive and accusatory. It must be the way they are trained or the culture or something. Everybody is a 'perp'. I am aware that firing questions at people is a good way of trying to catch people out who are hiding something but I wonder if this approach is really the best way to take with everybody that lands in front of them.
  19. If he has sufficient money and connections, he can buy his way out.
  20. Stay away from those moo gratha places. And snooker halls.
  21. This is the small stretch of the 304 that descends from the Isaan plateau down into Prachinburi. I have never known a small stretch of road anywhere in the world have so many horrific accidents with so many fatalities. I would love some of these accidents to be fully investigated. The level of negligence combined with brainlessly dangerous driving is beyond credulity.
  22. More like Michael De Guzman like. He is not dead.
