  1. they are all ED visas thru a school, with classes. They also had a 65k Business visa option. I can honestly no longer tell heads or tails from what would be the "real" answer to your last statement. That's not me arguing you, it's just that I've had 40 different experts tell me 40 different things. I can tell you one thing specific though, getting outside of Jomtien immigration opened up a slew of other visa/extension possibilities that supposedly "do not exist" according to everyone in this area. What did that cost if I may ask?
  2. 2nd reason I use Lazada: I bought a cable at Studio 7. It wasn't right, I tried to return less than 24 hours later and they stated no refunds for ANY purchases. Ex 2: Apparently this is not unusual in Thailand... I went to another electronic store in the same mall. I wanted to buy a mouse. I asked return policy to be safe. They said no returns. (I just tried another mouse that didn't work from Lazada, and didn't want to wait any longer to get back to work waiting on delivery). I asked then if they could open the package and test the product with me while in store? Answer? NO, sir. I of course declined purchase. Why in the world would I / should I assume 100% risk on product purchases? Seriously...what in the world is going on here with retail shops? These are REAL businesses operating this way, and neither were cheap. Just bad business imo.
  3. never (for me). Who has time to sit all day every day waiting for packages at unspecified times? I had 3 deliveries today. If I pay COD, that's 3 misses of getting my order. if I'm out.. and 3 trips to security interupting my day. I definitely go the prepay route.
  4. People that just got within past 2-3 months here have had no problem getting extensions. depends on office, but usually when you apply for new extension they erase what you had left and start your new 30 days. **^subject to office and even officer IN an office. I've heard of some just getting it tacked on to their original end date. But don't bank on it.
  5. Yes. language. They also offer Mu Thai defense too I believe. Several did. When I applied I applied for 1 year for 50k. Over the weekend from when I applied to Monday the (local??) immigration would no longer take native english speaking countries for that long, and I had to downgrade to 9 month offer. During my emergency search, I had new things popping up daily, and visa types being revoked daily. **If you knew the rules yesterday, you probably know nothing today 555
  6. I looked into a visa run to reset my visa as well, hearing that used to be the norm, easy, and cheap. My other options were finding an extension or visa that allowed me to stay here without leaving. Most options were 90-s100k, one 65k (so 90k again). (for a year). I was having extreme difficulties finding a fair solution because I was converted to a volunteer visa when they said that was our only option to stay before the amnesties started. Right now there are no land borders open (cause, you know, covid is safer in small confined areas than your car with just your family near you 555). Only flights. Flights are not a big expense, but by my calculations it would run me about 20,000 to go anywhere and come back (assuming I stay a week where ever I went.) with all the hotels, hotel quarantines, pcr tests, tickets, plus all the time spent with paperwork needing filed and to get approved both there and back...PLUS any new rule that could happend while I'm away preventing me back in. I eventually found one for 40k for 9 months with a school, that did not require me to leave and come back. They also have visas for 25k for 3 months. I strongly considered the visa reset by leaving country, and coming back and doing 1900 extensions again or finding a great deal at a school for an ED visa. But I decided the extra fee worth it so I did not have to jump thru hoops every other month or risk any further changes in "what's ok to be here." Peace of mind is of great value to me. I also didn't want to spend what is valuable time to me doing all the hoops and flights and bus rides, etc. However, if you wanted a small vacation anyways, leaving may be a way better option for you? Plus, I see you will have a long term visa waiting in about 60 days anyways? So your needs are not exactly the same as mine. But, in short, 20k to 25k minimum whether you stay here and use a solution or do a visa run is what I've seen you'll have to spend if you can't get an exception from your work. No current simple "cheap" solutions anymore at this time.
  7. Job insecurity. How many times we reopened and then they close it all down again. Why move back just to make no money and have no job?
  8. I don't know what they quoted you for hand to hand, but I'm on Non O Volunteer and after 80 hours of emergency search to stay in country, and after countless rejections to get this done while still staying IN country I found an agency and school (or I should say I answered every FB visa ad served up to me) who can offer ED visas for 25k for 3 months, 35k for 6 months, and 40k for 9 months. Keep checking. Offers vary from region to region . As soon as I quit checking local, I found plenty of solutions. they also change daily AND DISAPPEAR daily. EX. When I applied I was getting a 1 year for 50k, Then over the weekend and before I was approved, the immigration department terminated 12 months for English speaking countries and I had to take the 9 month visa instead. Save you lot of time...don't search any agencies in Jomtien/Pattaya. This office wants us out.
  9. try more, and try outside of the location you are in. I interviewed 40 agents to find one that could help me with my parameters. As a matter of fact, once I left interviewing the local agents (thank you FB for listening to my chats and phone conversations and sending me ads to agencies outside of my location)... they said "why have you had a problem? this is standard and there will be no issues. I then stated where I was located and immigration office trying to go thru...and they said, "Ohhhh. That makes sense. They are difficult. You will not have those issues here. We processed 3 last week." So, it's worth trying outside your local area. For me, Chiang Mai and Samui were presenting solutions, ***My parameters are not your parameters, so I am not sure. But you being a much more recent arrival, you should have less obstacles than I did. And of course, you'll have solutions...just how much you willing to pay? 25k is a 3 month educaiton visa thru an actual school and can be done without you leaving., for example. 9 months for 40k.
  10. Lucky you. I was denied. Then it took about 40 agency interviews to find a place that could help at a reasonable price. 50k for year visa. Prior to that I was getting 90 to 110k quotes. They did it for me despite on current overstay (same day they started) and the dreaded volunteer (which the gov told us to get when pandemic started).
  11. try agencies for 30 day extensions. I'm sure one has something for 4 to 8k since you haven't been here that long this visit
  12. air only. I did the math as a possibility for myself. It Would require about 20k to go there , do all tests there and here, and spend a week whichever one you chose.
  13. Russia and Canada instances are prime examples of why you need to get your money out of the old fiat system and into blockchain. Myself included
  14. 9 months for 46k for an ED visa from a school or 9 months for same for Muay Thai visa. need 4 to 6 weeks to process, but you should be able to get covid ext since you just got here (but who knows in reality) 90k from an agent to get you the same types if you have hidden issues you haven't mentioned in your post.
  15. Yes. I was switched to volunteer when they told us to get something long term or scram...then they did amnesty.
  16. I'm talking nuts and bolts with them monday. I want actual classes with it, but they did not expect that request haha
  17. Jomtien. this was for the whole visa package . It's 89k. I don't think you need that though? expensive.
  18. I have no idea. Agent quoted me an ED visa for 1 year and I don't have to leave...and I've been here 2 years already.
  19. if you want small vacation, go to cambodia or phillipines. both open. but probably cost ya 20-25k total to go and come back. if you have important stuff to do here and travel is a pain, then paying would be your better option imo.
  20. Where did you get this information about Ranong border? But yes, you are gonna have to pay if you don't want to leave. And leaving is expensive too. Not sure why your school wants you to leave if they already issued you the ED visa though.
