why can't all of these fossils just go away. it's obvious that they're both unfit to make any decisions in the modern world.

A bit like buying a house next to an airport, and complaining about the noise !
It's been like that for over the 30 years since I first went there, which begs the question, why stay there if it's not to your liking ? Thailand is a big place.
Pattaya can change and look for tourists with other interests than sex and booze. Perhaps now is the best time for this.
you failed to address the question.

Maybe because of the (world leading ) air pollution from burning everything in sight before the rainy season ?
the face mask wearing was not that high of a percentage during the smoke season. i was out on my bike almost the entire season every other day. very little thai had masks on during the time. once the plandemic got bad then and only then did mass mask wearing occur.

the royal thai police deserve the utmost respect and honor for fulfilling the duties bestowed upon them daily. with courage and foresight they manage to maintain a balance of law and order unparalleled in the surrounding area. i for one applaud their efforts and stand behind them in the enforcement of laws to keep this beautiful nation safe.

How is that working out for you, lately?
for me ? i am retired at 43. live rent free. have a property back home. loads of investments. other than the stupid nonsense happening with this plandemic things are working out quite well for me.
ask me again in a couple years when we live in a dystopian dream world where you scan to do anything in life.

me on your future visitor list, just not coming.

This bloody 'me-me-me' attitude that people display really makes me wonder.
Thanks to ThaiVisa, it no longer surprises me. But it still makes me wonder.
when did you quit your job at the fun police ? you must be a hoot at parties.

before i entered my shopping destination today i simply held my phone up to the giant bar code they were displaying and with a straight face said
beep bop beep bop and waved my phone over the bar code. smiled and walked in.

In the last ten years during my occasional visits back to the US I have been shocked by how much physical fear Americans feel. Train stations didn't used to have constant messages on the loudspeaker to be on the alert for danger of various kinds. Nor were national guardsnmen in camos with rifles a common sight.
I found the fake American warmth required in some social situations to be quite offensive, such as a waiter introducing himself by name and gushing with forced friendliness. I never liked that behavior, but I am now no longer acclimatized to it.
The risk for long-term expats is that eventually we feel homeless wherever we are.
Let me guess you prefer the Thai smiles? 555
ya the vertical ones

Would rather have toothpicks shoved under my fingernails than visit a mall. Back in the day or now. What a pathetic form of entertainment. Confirms how little there is to do in Bangkok.
only boring people say stupid things like that. you're way off about nothing to do in bkk. this city regardless of its faults is incredible. i constantly find new places and am amazed by new neighborhoods. how unique some of them are is wonderful. there is so little to do here in fact that it is in the top 5 cities in the world for tourism.
so millions are wrong and internet guy is right. got it.

150k human beings die every single day.
less than 70 died in thailand during the first wave. so with those numbers added to the impending so called 2nd wave we should be at about half a weeks traffic deaths in no time.
