  1. Well I was hopeful this was going to go down like it did in India. Not yet I see. 23k nearly daily. ????
  2. At this rate by the time this is under control they are going to forget every word of english!
  3. Large business does. The problem here is people. By the time this is all over they will, most likely, have found something else to do. This isn't a light switch that gets turned on. You need the fuel before the engine can run. There is no fuel. This isn't going away anytime soon. You will see tourism recovering five years from now - these people will all be gone. China really doesn't care if it's citizens travel or not. You can't even get a passport renewal there. I'm throwing up the hurtles here, people jump over them. Keep that in mind.
  4. No kidding sherlock! The way things aare going it will be three years by the time they get that number.
  5. This message brought to you by the people managing the pandemic. Should you be terrified? Yes.
  6. I want to believe the numbers. But let's face it, there is no way to get a hospital bed anyways so are people just giving up? How many aren't being counted? Then I think of India and their wave dropped too - and yes, there were lots who did not get any diagnosis at all. Here's hoping that it drops. The strain on health care must be horrendous.
  7. This is good news. The reason why it's good news is people who were vaccinated are going after herd immunity via vaccine, and those who are not are going after their immunity via their immunity system. Everyone has been offered a vaccine that can accept it. So the latter will get the disease over with and they can return back to normal. It will happen in Thailand probably too. Those who eventually don't want the vaccine will simply get infected. Hope it works out for them.
  8. It will be a long hard slog to even get them open. Large retailers like Isetan and the like - when and if some go, getting them back and up and running will be a tremendous challenge for sure. Not to mention getting the base customers back - generally 39 million tourists which is nothing short of a pipe dream for the next five years and that's the biggest dream there is. There will be times when there isn't enough supply for demand if this picks up which will be frustrating. Higher prices. Tourists may go elsewhere. Higher hotel prices because hotels would be out of existence. Make no mistake, this entire high season coming up will be a similar ghost town as last year. There will be no tourism for 2021/2022 high season year. Unless you count that silly sandbox which you may as well not even include.
  9. When it comes to countries like Thailand you are basing your assumption that they are reporting the correct numbers. Look at India, they didn't report neaarly all the deaths. It's no different here.
  10. That is beyond brutal. So bodies in mobile coolers, possible food shortages because workers are getting sick at processing plants, and people dying and an alarming spike in deaths that are unaccounted for year over year. Go figure.
  11. Oh god tell me about it. What's with these people with gloves running around too going grocery shopping? Or having their mask half way down their nose? To one up you, driving a car with mask and gloves on by themselves. LMAO! Gloves do literally nothing. Wash your damned hands. I know many people in the health care industry and they just laugh at this bizarre behaviour. It doesn't get in via your hands!
  12. I share everyone's sadness at these numbers that are going nothing but up. My prediction was a year away at ten million doses administered a month. That's more like about 8-9 million a month for herd immunity. In other words, this has only probably just begun. Nobody would be happier if I was wrong. Just wash your hands, clean your phone, wear your mask. The health care system is starting to fall apart and it's really important not to get sick right now be it COVID, cancer, motorcycle accident, whatever. Maybe the numbers will drop like India's did. No scientific basis for this but hey it's a hope at least.
  13. Well you guys are a long ways from that, LOL! ???? Canada. We have 3 provinces completely opening. Everyone has access to a vaccine and you can get one immediately. In Manitoba all restrictions are lifting which is the latest province. There is a small percentage that are refusing vaccines, and a group of 12 and under that cannot. Other than that most are getting it. It's incredible to see what's going on here. It will happen eventually elsewhere, it's just going to take time.
  14. The only one who really cares is you. I support your decision.
  15. And yet they are going into apartment buildings checking for bodies. Perhaps that is care. Look, when you die from COVID what happens is your oxygen level goes down past 95, usually around 70 and eventually your organs fail. And that's it. You will be fine one minute, a few hours later you will be graveyard dead. Your organs can only go on so long with so little oxygen. There is no time to call anyone because you won't even know what's going on.
  16. Well I can say that in my country we are open. 74 percent vaccinated, 67 percent two shots. 99.9 percent of all infections now are from unvaccinated people. : D Zero patients vaccinated in hospital who were vaccinated. This is in an area of 4.7 million people. Jimmy cracked corn and I don't care. Meaning, I don't care what some goof-ball posted about vaccinated peopled getting sick and more likely to die. It isn't true but hey, you can lie here and pretend to be a doctor but all the studies, even yesterday which was just released shows that vaccines work incredibly well. Both in written studies and data from real life.
  17. Well blow me down, LOL! I do hope you are all stocked up. For real, when they started posting this stuff in the west it was pure pandemonium at the grocery stores. At least you don't have to worry about toilet paper. ????
  18. That Thais are smarter than westerners, or that there will be a hoarding of supplies tomorrow. Alas, let us leave the answer unanswered, yet we all know the answer in our minds. Thanks you. Thanks you. Blessings Buddha, whatever...
  19. In other words, now that it's in print, tomorrow people will probably be freaking out hoarding supplies. Unless Thais are smarter than westerners.
  20. Is there any way to try the drugs this man is on and see what it's like?
