Mmmm, not surprised as quite typical of some posters here. I was responding to your post about IDF approved news.. Soon the defenders of Israel will wake up and claim all lies, and post IDF approved news I provided you links, none from IDF approved news, which you might care to explore. Then you come up with above? This thread is about UNRWA, which is clearly a huge part of the problem in Gaza and where ever they operate. They're being called out and hopefully they will be reformed thru further investigation by EU, Trump and belatedly mainstream media.

Quite incredible the naivety and plain ignorance of some posters. Clearly the anti-Israel luvvies don't research much, or maybe just get their news from Al Jazeera or BBC. ** Textbooks from UNRWA have been under question for years https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/E-9-2021-003199_EN.html ** Hamas presence in schools https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/08/world/middleeast/hamas-unrwa-schools.html ** UNRWA was unaware of all the Hamas military infrastructure and tunnels in and around hospitals, schools at all? Really? ** What about the the tunnels they found under the UNRWA HQ building? https://www.npr.org/2024/02/10/1230632741/israel-gaza-tunnels-unrwa-united-nations Wake up luvvies, read some history about the region and follow the news more closely, other than the inane mainstream. If you want a more objective outlet, suggest Al-Monitor run by a Arab-American.. https://www.al-monitor.com/ It is a highly regarded.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Monitor

Israeli Army Supports UN Peacekeepers Against Attack in Syria
Donga replied to Social Media's topic in World News
And here was I thinking everyone finally understood the UN is farce - a haven for the socialists and activists that has stymied progress in the Middle East through their deceitful UNRWA program, support for Hamas and failure to implement Res 1701 in southern Lebanon. A horrid disgrace and long overdue for a major overhaul. The IDF wouldn't care to fire on them, as they are used to simply ignoring them. -
Massage Parlour Visits Turn Fatal: Singaporean Tourist and Thai Singer Die
Donga replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Strange article for me, and I'm not that keen on massages even if my lovely wife is a qualified massage therapist. There is scant detail about the Singaporean man - underlying conditions, nature of his death, heart attack? The Thai lady case has more information and provides a cursory warning about neck manipulation. But still strange - why did the lady go back for more massages, as well as how did this pain lead to death? Reads like nerve pain, that could have been treated with appropriate medication and time. -
You're doing exactly what I'm referring to: 43,000 is Hamas number 1. with no attempt to analyze those numbers, 2. contextualize in terms that conflicts unfortunately cause civilian deaths, 3. exacerbated by deliberate Hamas strategy of using human shields. Of course the death and injured numbers matter, is tragic. So why don't we see much more pressure applied for Hamas to lay down their arms and return the hostages? I don't condone what Israeli Centre/Right governments have done over the years in allowing settlers to take more land in the West Bank - but have some sympathy when confronted with the reality of Israel being attacked so many times over the decades with either full stage warfare from outside or localised terrorism from Moslem inhabitants. Do you think Hamas militants wear uniforms? Why would the IDF get in the line of fire when they are there to root out scum, not run the place - isn't that what the UNRWA is meant to do? By all means, say things about Israel, they're not squeaky clean. No democracy is. However that part of the world has a huge problem accepting Israel's right to exist and can't blame Israel for doing what they do to survive.
-
** They relay Al Jazeera news for one, which is clearly biased with embedded Hamas "journalists" ** They parrot the Hamas death toll numbers, without trying to break down those numbers or provide context of civilian casualties in warfare, let alone call out Hamas human shield strategy ** They barely covered the atrocities of October 7 Support comes from what they blithely ignore, a notable feature of MSM these days. Hence why they criticise, look for any disparaging angle from the likes of Twitter and Joe Rogan.

Appreciate if you could summarise the clear evidence Amnesty provide on "genocide", as all I read are generalities and quotes. Struggle with regular coverage on the hardships endured by Gazans, when they have to move elsewhere, after IDF direction to get out of harm's way. The activist journalists typically trip themselves up. And their equally blinded readers don't see the contradiction.

First poster gave you some clues... When western media promote Hamas propaganda. When @amnesty lie about genocide and apartheid. When Jihadist gatherings in the west are referred to as 'peace marches'. and I'll add some more ** Naive and history challenged luvvies in the western world, especially in the burgeoning Arts Depts of our universities, led by left leaning professors and lecturers, harp on about oppression and the role of Western colonialism (ignoring eons of earlier colonialism). "Free Palestine" as a perfect cause. And align with zealous immigrants from jihadist influenced countries. ** United Nations complicity over decades in condemning Israel while their 13,000 UNRWA teaches have espoused hate Jews doctrine over the same period. Note the mature Middle East nations, who have accepted the reality and embarked on sensible relations with Israel have changed their syllabuses, though it will take a while to undo the damage. ** Media has been woeful in relaying Al-Jazeera coverage, rarely touching on Hamas deliberate use of human shields with their military infrastructure, militants firing bullets and missiles from civilian institutions, including hospitals and schools. Their constant acceptance of Hamas controlled Gaza Health fatality figures, without trying to break those numbers down, let alone report how a 14-18 year old Hamas teen is classified when he dies in conflict. No investigative reporting into Hamas activities in this area from main media. Western civilisation has been sleep walking into calamity. Thank goodness Trump will shake it out of its complacency, while hopefully ending conflicts where Left leaders (often conflicted by their socialist roots), typically mince their words and struggle to get things done.

Israeli Attacked in Thailand by German Tourist, Report Says
Donga replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"the wars in the middle east need to end plain and simple" Then go and and end it.... unless you can get Extremists to become Moderates, like most of the human race Including Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, while their neighbors are finally getting it https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/saudi-survey-says-nearly-half-back-moderate-islam-few-support-internal-protests-or -
Not sure what your point is - convict with erratic ideas? Maybe to you, but Trump is more popular since he's been re-elected because people resonate with his "erratic" ideas. The horrid Democratic lawfare will stop, unless Trump unleashes too much revenge - hope he doesn't. Most of those charges were so lame, and ultimately backfired. As far as the distance the new Left luvvies have moved - think about it: revising history, allowing illegal immigrants from a multi billion trafficking industry into countries with many entitlements, dumping Western civilisation concepts, changing pronouns so kiddies urged to not say Mum, Dad, Uncle, Aunty; guys on hormone drugs competing with women, environmental extremism against miners & farmers, yet in Australia we're losing swathes of land with koala casualties to make way for things to provide energy when the wind blows. The issue with the chart is there is hardly enough room to portray the Loonie side of the Left.

‘Wife for hire’: Inside Thailand’s shocking rental marriage trend
Donga replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lauren Sanchez is in fact 54 years old, very well kept and much accomplished. Leonardo is a bit of a strange one, wonder if he'll ever find a keeper. -
Funny how folk don't like it when media cover material that their Guardian or BBC don't like to share with them. Helps to create this bubble effect so that when people like Meloni or Trump get elected (or the divisive Voice fails in Australia), they are shattered, not aware of what the rest of society is thinking from their inner city, professional or public service view of the world. Here's an update for the luvvies - The Left has gone too far, lost it's way and is on the nose in most democracies, so get used to it.

BBC Staff Divided Over Call to Wear Palestinian Flag Colors and Keffiyeh
Donga replied to Social Media's topic in World News
More to the point, article is from The Times, not The Telegraph 😅 -
Perhaps Trump will insist that some folk at the soon to be revamped Dept of Justice, seek data and publish what is becoming anecdotally apparent from numerous media reports in Europe and I expect replicated to some degree in the USA. What do you expect of young men brainwashed by some clerics about sexuality, and the worth of women in society. It happens all over the world. However genital mutilation, forced marriages, female subjugation is notably more apparent in some Islamic societies e.g. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, as well as predominantly Hindu, India. I say some Islamic societies, as in my model Islamic countries of Indonesia and Bangladesh, women are treated with respect and have held high office positions for decades. So this is not an Islam beat up per se, but the issue should not be ignored. Here's a report from the UK on forced marriages... https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/forced-marriage-unit-statistics-2022/forced-marriage-unit-statistics-2022 I recognise sexual violence is committed by all races, but suggest it is higher in some ethnic/religious groups than others.

Elon Musk Sparks Controversy, Calling the UK a ‘Tyrannical Police State’
Donga replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Love the way the luvvie media call anything right of Centre as Far Right. Meloni in Italy, Milei in Argentina and Orban in Hungary (major sin - secure the borders) all democratically elected, labelled far right, as they lead their countries back to health. Can anyone tell me what constitutes Far Right these days? It looks like if you believe a country has a right to protect it's borders, strives to minimise government largesse, reduce green bureaucracy, eliminate policies that are racially divisive, is now considered far right. Then the pile on with Musk is breathtaking, and do luvvies really think he cares 😅 -
Nah, and still out of topic, suggest those clinging to the New Left with their focus on environment extremism, history revision, anti-Western civilisation sentiments, identity politics (vs Old Left, where I still see myself) are living in the past and people are sick of it. The trend is back towards the centre, even if it takes another dose of Trump to make substantial strides in the US. Watch the New Left dominoes continue to fall in the next few years, as already commenced in Europe, NZ, and Trudeau's going to get hammered.

Hamas figures but nevertheless: 1. How many were terrorists, as we know Hamas has many teens in their ranks. What do you do when fired up on by them? 2. How many been killed by missiles from either Hamas or the other mob that misfire, 10 % of them land in Gaza 3.How many were kids were in schools, hospitals surrounded by militants infrastructure and and terrorists firing munitions at IDF 4. How many were nearby militants and their munitions when IDF takes out the terrorists and boom, blamed on IDF Most importantly, why doesn't Hamas lay down its arms and return the remaining hostages? Because they win the hearts of ignorant Western luvvies by sacrificing civilians. Suggest you look deeper into it as truly... Why would Israel wish to wantonly kill kids? They continually advise civilians to move, and Hamas has been known to try stop them moving. Just as Hamas raid the supplies coming in, hide stuff in their tunnels, like the barbaric rats that they are. They care <deleted> about Gazans.
-
How is Israel responsible for genocide when: 1. Hamas planned and have executed the use of Gazans as human shields with military infrastructure deliberately placed in, around and under schools, hospitals and mosques. Then have munitions in refugee camps, where they run to when not in their tunnels. 2. Israel attracts criticism for constantly requiring civilians to Move from harms way - is a total contradiction, and clearly genocide is a convenient term used by folk who ignore the facts of the conflict. The term is totally inappropriate as the IDF pursue the Jihadists who have been so callous about the well being of Gazans after their barbaric acts of Oct 7. And I'm not Jewish. Meanwhile Montreal is simply paying the same price as many European cities with large Middle East populations. A certain % are Jihadists and shouldn't be in the country. And I've lived in moslem Nigeria and the largest moslem country of Indonesia, which I respect for their practice of Islam and their societies who inform authorities when they see extremism. Unfortunately many Middle East countries either encourage extremism or blindly support (or are intimidated).

Take care how you perceive Justice these days. Left wing institutions like Biden administration and the UN have shown Justice has lost its way, most unfortunately. The extent of the abuse, waste of money and hypocrisy is breathtaking If the ICC was truly impartial, there would be warrants for so many feudal lords across Africa, responsible for countless deaths and misery. They would be joined by leaders in Iran and Afghanistan for their support of terrorism and destruction of women's rights. The ICC is a joke and fortunately has little power, other than typical left wing symbolism.

A little tough and certainly premature as suspect he'll do better this time, and last time was wasn't shabby. Forget his stupid comments. Believe he's got a better measure of how to run things, likely more stable & loyal advisors with the house & senate behind him. Also suggest the left loves tokenism way more, e.g. BLM, MeToo, Free Palestine, 100% renewables by 2050.
-
Yup another left leaning media outlet trying to frame the election disaster as only due to cost of living from inflation. Nothing to do with extended lock downs in left wing states, excessive bureaucracy in so many areas, (DC voted 92% Democrat), environmental extremism, pithy foreign affairs, woke everywhere including education and porous borders. The left induced media continue to shoot own goals with their hubris, e.g. Biden was mentally fit as a fiddle, until everyone could see he wasn't and by then it was too late.

The Dangerous Prospect of RFK Jr.'s Influence on Global Health
Donga replied to Social Media's topic in World News
One huge area not even mentioned in the beat up is that RFK intends to reform packaged food, which is largely responsible for alarming obesity and climbing diabetes, worldwide. Well overdue. Big pharma needs a big stick taken to them and I do disagree with taking fluoride from the water supply, let's see if that comes about. The shrill emanating from the hypocritical Left and the complicit media is breathtaking and will take years for the average voter to put aside. But that tide is turning and Trump and Republicans just gave it a major shove 🤗 -
Think you need to consider the Left went too far, which Trump could see along with the impact on the economy and workers' lives. People who really care about the tenets of the left should look closely as to why the Democrats now represent the urban professional class - lawyers, professors, activists, public servants and care about "progressive" issues more than the economic realities, with their righteous posture, e.g. DEI and associated tokenism, environmental extremism, anti-west sentiments etc. Tend to find cancel culture more pronounced when trying to discuss issues with people who are stuck in their "left" mindset - they often can't articulate, is something they glean from various headlines and protest movements. No matter what their education, and as an old Leftie, I find them increasingly shallow, devoid of contextual history (e.g. western colonialism & slavery, where the West were late in the trade and the first to ban it) but above all seem to think they hold some moral or intellectual high ground. The Republicans now stand for the workers and Trump was able to achieve that despite being hounded and villified by most mainstream media. He's turned into a hero despite his obvious character shortcomings, which media highlight ad nauseam.
