  1. In Australia in the 70s we thought the Brits killed their industry by producing rubbish quality cars. We had Leyland and morris vehicles . They were absolute <deleted>. Marina, and the locally engineered P76 - absolute cr#p.

I had a few British cars, triumph Herald - great to look at, but not a great driving experience (!) . Jensen interceptor - a brilliant car ruined by British electricals (Lucas) , & a Hillman Hunter Estate while working in the UK - more cr #p. The 79 3 door Range Rover I had was fun to drive -but crazy thirsty - but the torque body roll you got when you revved that insipid 3.5 V8 made you forgive it!

The quality & reliability of the vehicles made in the UK in the 70s and 80s was abysmal - and that led to their demise. After this the UK car industry was more construction , not design.

  2. IMO the car is no longer a 'classic' car after the conversion.

It may be more user friendly, and 'modernised' - but it is no longer Original.

The value in a Classic Car is its' originality - its Pedigree.

I have looked at some Classics here in Thailand with a view to buying them - but then walked away after discovering the original engine has been replaced with a Toyota engine! If I opened the hood and saw an electric motor - I would run not walk!

Any time I’ve sold something here in Thailand, be it a watch, car, motorcycle etc... I’ve always written the Ad in two languages...   In English, then Google Translate into Thai (and asked the Wife to check it)..

I also always put the number down for a Fluent Thai Speaker (Wife) and and English Speaker (myself)... that opens things up a bit as Thai’s do prefer to deal with Thai’s unless the prospective buyer has semi-decent English.

I’ve not encountered any difficulty because I’m not Thai.... there are usually simple ways around a lot of hurdles.

I do exactly the same thing - but have still had little response. (In saying that, I have sold 4 cars & 3 drones over the last 2 years - but I price fairly for a quick sale)

Yes - resellers are a pain - and generally try to beat you down drastically on price.

All I can say is that buying and selling of vehicles was much easier in my home country (Australia)

I asked the wife how old the kids have to be to ride a motorbike?...….she said in Isaan as soon as they don't fall off they are old enough.......near us I would say most are about 12 to 13 when they start to ride......parents must buy them AND the modified exhausts they all have fitted.

You neglected to mention the mandatory removal of the 'uncool' mirrors...

    Me Too!

Seller own fleet, packed for a week, China of course.

I have had many orders like this. Often it is marked as packed, with no further shipping information. Then the order is delivered normally…. I have learnt to chill and be patient!
