Did he say "money , money" or mean 'Maa Nee , Maa Nee' - come here?
I can't wait for further instalments from this ripping yarn.

Sorry Mr Attenborough , but leeches do not have tentacles on their head . They also do not have a 'foot' - which slugs have (as does this thing)
Leeches are molluscs, like snails and slugs , but bear a closer resemblance to worms. They also are more likely to move in a 'looper' fashion , using front and rear suckers.
End of lesson.

I had a bit of a rant about a similar experience a few weeks ago. A vendor from HK sent me an item via DHL. They understated the value of the item - and I was fined for their indiscretion. It is up to me to try to get my money back from them! Fat chance!!
Anyway - 3 weeks later. I had issues with the original item purchased , so needed to do further business with this company. Again - they understated value! Again they used DHL!!! OMG - I am a slow learner (but I can only buy this stuff from this vendor) .
I received an email from DHL , asking me for proof of value (receipt - not invoice). They said that this was needed for customs.valuation in case of 'random inspection'.
Surprise surprise - my item was inspected by customs in their 'random inspection'.
So now I have to pay duty,VAT & a fine to customs , and a handling fee & storage fee to DHL
I let DHL know my displeasure , and contacted the vendor - who will now use Thai special line logistics for future shipments to LOS.
I have had 5 items sent from various countries to me by DHL this year - every one has been inspected by customs , & additional fees have been payable to DHL in every case - this is hardly 'random inspection' . IMO this is collusion. I am not that lucky.
I know Liverpool Lou will have an answer for this , but TBH - I could not give a rats rectum for his thoughts.

Even new , it compares well against the 4mill I paid for my Cayman.
Coming from rural Australia, I think the roads in Thailand are generally quite good. (It is the other vehicles on the road that is the bigger problem - bikes, dilapidated old pick-ups etc - and so many people who have no idea how to drive).
As for the haters, and naysayers here - don’t listen to them! They will never understand that buying a car is often an emotional, rather than a ‘common sense’ decision. If you have the wherewithal to get one - do it!

Definitely not leeches. This thing has tenticles/eye stalks on its head.
It is a slug - a Tropical Leatherleaf - as Pitufikken has already said.

I have no problems with transfers from Australia to my Thai bank - but is nearly always overnight. I transferred money last Friday and it didn’t land in my account here until midday Tuesday - but I was informed all the way.
The only time I have had any problem with Wise occurred with a large transfer , that crept over their limit due to currency rate changes. My money was in limbo for a few days. I had to cancel my original transfer , and then make a new one for less than their ceiling (2 mill) - they refunded me the difference. Was annoying at the time - but I always feel safe with this company (and their rates are good)

It may not be such a crazy idea. Due to the reduced vascularity (blood supply) of the subcutaneous tissue compared to that of the muscle - the vaccine is likely to remain ‘on site’ for a longer period - giving the immune system a better look at it - and hence mount a good immune response.
The downside is that subcutaneous injections hurt more than intramuscular injections.

What about keeping a house there just in case ?
I paid squillions in Tax in Australia , but although I enjoyed many aspects of my job (and the financial security it gave me) - at age 58 I could see that a lot of water had already gone under the bridge - I was still fit & healthy, so I sold up everything in Oz and came over here. I have budgeted on spending up to 200,000 Baht per month. If I am still going at 85 , I could be broke - nut hopefully will be too old to care!!
I am not particularly wealthy , but will never receive any State pension. I never viewed tax as something that the Government borrowed from me, just to drip it back to me if I made it past 67! Plus - who wants to deal with centrelink!!
I chose to sell my house in Oz, as it was an older style house in a rural area that was in my opinion 'too fragile' for tenants. Repairs would have cost me more than any income I received from it. Also - if the fit hits the shan, I would probably live in a different part of Oz if I returned. I left because I was unsatisfied & bored with my life in Australia - I know I would not want to live in the same area again.

No more funny comments about Madonnas' breast cover...
The automatic engine stop start , you should be able to leave the car in Drive , and the engine will stop when the car comes to rest. It will start again (automatically) as soon as you press the accelerator/throttle/gofast pedal. Putting the hand brake on means you don't have to keep your foot on the brake pedal. When you are set to go, just take off handbrake, press the pedal to the metal, and you are winning the green light speedway!

There car enthusiasts and ex -ones on here that would like to know what car it is, if I had that money spare I'd go for a 911.
2 million will not get you into a 911 in LOS. A 20 year old 996 will still set you back at least 3.5 million baht!

20,000 deaths per annum is shocking.
17,000 deaths is not insubstantial.
With lockdowns, curfews, restaurant & bar closures - if alcohol was the major factor in road deaths, I am sure we would have seen a much bigger reduction in the road carnage here.

She said the lessons from lockdown were clear - more alcohol bans and more checkpoints meant fewer deaths.
She obviously is an advocate for alcohol bans.
For the last 18 months traffic volumes have been obviously smaller. Less cars on the road must equate to a reduction in accidents. Curfews must reduce the number of drunk drivers on the road at night. This is not rocket science - casualty numbers should fall.
'She also noted that when alcohol checkpoints were stopped last year the number of DUI cases rocketed.'
Alcohol checkpoints were stopped during curfew times - so there should have been less people out and about, and hence less DUIs - makes no sense.
Her deductions are obviously wrong.
The issues with regard to driver training, vehicle safety and maintenance, drugs, speeding and zero policing must be taken into account here.

It shouldn't matter what the value was. There is a FREE TRADE agreement between Thailand and China which means there should be NO customs duties of any description if the item was in fact shipped from China. I'm guessing that it wasn't.
The unit was sent directly from Hong Kong.
