  1. noted re Government hospitals wait time yes that Rachvipa place(Private) mentioned above is 23,000 baht for Prostate with contrast and can do this week but 1.5T not 3T Just so we all on same page.....Can you have a 1.5T but still be MP(Multi Parametric)? And im assuming all 3T's are MP Thanks all
  2. yes they quoted me 10,500 tonight for MRi Prostate with contrast they confirmed they have Multi Parametric(Mp) MRI and a 3T machine my issue is I live in Hua Hin and im not allowed to simply book it and go there i have to go first and register and then apply for scan The person told me i would not get a scan same day can anyoune tell me from experience how long they think i would have to wait for an MRI after registering at this hospital The person who i spoke to didnt really know and the quality of call was awful (not my phone but theirs!)
  3. yes thats what i will have after the MRI so they know where to target Had one 20 months ago, and initially they wanted me overnight.....i talked them out of it after 2 hours i felt ok to go home, went downstairs to lobby and basically keeled over Had to go back to recovery ward for another 1.5 hours
  4. Appreciate the suggestion but.... For some reason they dont quote Prostate MRI, perhaps because they know the machines arent up to it?!
  5. is the biopsy MRI Fusion TRUS? if so that normally involves an overnight stay hence in patient worth mentioning?
  6. oh....is there another thread this would be better in?
  7. yes so the Rolls Royce of MRIs i assume So as regards my previous prices i may not be comparing apples with apples exactly
  8. Thanks but Holy Smokes! Less than 2 years ago i paid 10,500 at Hua Hin Hospital And could have got it done at Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin(notorious for overpricing) for 15,700 And yes I know Bumrungrad is luxurious, ive been there But even so, crikey! anyway thanks for the intel
  9. Anyone had a standard MRI of Prostate(with contrast) in say last 18 months either in Bangkok, Hua Hin or somewhere in between (eg Petchaburi)? Looking for update on costs.... TIA
  10. Anyone had a standard MRI of Prostate(with contrast ) in say last 18 months either in Bangkok, Hua Hin or somewhere in between (eg Petchaburi)? Looking for update on costs.... After that i will need the MRI Fusion TRUS biopsy but i will focus on costs for that later( i had it done in Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin in May '21 at a cost of 115,000 baht all in) Yes i know it can be done cheaper in Bkk, as i say i'll get to that discussion next First up is standard MRI(+contrast) Cheers all
  11. UPDATE My son used DHL in the end ......but wishes he never bothered total ball ache from start to finish their response time to questions is abysmal! but stuff got here ok in about 5 days when we eventually pulled the trigger expensive..... £40 for a few sheets of A4 think ill use International tracked and signed(royal mail) in future thanks all
  12. My son in UK has booked this in with DHL He selected personal but at the end of the order it switched to business and llots of customs info required Anyone have any experience of this? Will it matter? Its just personal paperwork TIA
  13. Sorry searched for thread could not find plus couldn't find a great place to put this Need to have important docs and bank cards sent here To date never used anyone but Royal Mail They lost a parcel once (or Thailand did?) Who should I use? Anyone do this recently and can recommend. The obvious name in my head is DHL but never used anywhere TIA
  14. Please expand on that NHS 6 months point. I would hazard a guess at if you're away from UK for longer than 6 months you no longer qualify for NHS treatment??
  15. as per my edit, it seems the applicant is simply taking the risk that the Passport office in UK agrees that the new photo fairly matches the old if in any doubt get counter sigs i guess
  16. well yes, as inferred in my post that's one of the answers ive heard Therefore it seems to me that 'you' (the applicant) are the sole judge of whether your current passport photo is still a similar and recognisable likeness of the photo that you are submitting with renewal application Although i guess the Passport Office in UK could disagree and reject application and say you need counter sigs
  17. Apologies if this has been discussed before do you need your photo ID on renewal application countersigning or not? Reason i ask is ive heard both yes and no and not just once And if yes, is there a time limit from when they were counter signed to the application date eg 6 months? TIA
  18. yes fair point , hopefully it shouldnt ever matter if their chat is responsive
  19. Yes, good points, especially about money laundering but some banks are just a lot easier to communicate with than others The Santander app has something called Sandi (their digital assistant) whom I could happily strangle with bare hands! 'She' constantly gets cut off with some <deleted> excuse of failing to connect with the server, which as we all know is just an excuse to get rid of annoying customers who are having problems. May I ask if your contact number for Starling is a Thai number? I contacted them yesterday via the app(good response) and she showed me how to change mine from UK but Thailand was not one of the 40 odd countries pre designated and I couldn't see a way of manually overriding that. I just don't want her to tell me that Thailand is a country they cannot deal with! Wonder why its not preloaded in the app?
  20. Specifically, what are Starling like when it comes to transferring large amounts of money out to other banks? So for example some people have savings in other savings accounts with other Banks in say like a one or five year bond. That would then mature and the money would come back to Starling. And then you would move it out again into another new bond account which was paying the best interest rate. Now this is something I did on a fairly regular basis with Santander and they were an absolute nightmare! If you tried to move any real amount of money their security systems would kick in and it would lock you out of the account on PC & mobile and it was extremely inconvenient trying to phone England, waiting for hours etc What I had to do eventually was try to move chunks of less than £5,000 and that seemed to work for a while but even that then became problematical I'm just wondering what Starling are like in that regard many thanks
  21. Interesting about Chase..... Last night before seeing your post (and several others) i successfully opened a Starling current account. It was a breeze! I did that rather than just using the Switch guarantee service as ive no knowledge of them and also i admit im a bit nervous of things going wrong So next few days i will research switching my current account from Santander to Starling using the switch service ie hopefully there are no issues with me not being in UK for that Yes, im probably overthinking it!
  22. Yep, all done online thanks to whoever it was above who first pointed that out. I say again I definitely read somewhere on net it was UK only and wasn't just some random person it was kind of 'official' I'll come on here next time to verify, as per bank queries Thanks all
  23. Anyway back on topic re Banks(but thanks for info on Driv lic) Huge apologies to PPGuy..... I shouldve checked first(my bad) but the reviews for Halifax are truly awful, only fractionally better than Santander but still well into the 'bad' category Starling and First Direct come out well on Trust Pilot will check out Monzo If anyone has used the the UK switching service from here in Thailand please advise feedback thanks
