  1. yes thanks, thats what is was inferring in my OP I just didnt want it blowing my box(so to speak!) as they are expensive i shall now invest in a faster cable but accept original speed which is fast enough for me ( 1 hour a full charge) thanks again
  2. Can I use a 6A 120 watt cable on a phone which came with a 3.1A 33w cable? I know using less power(2.4a) doesn't work. But wondering if you use a more powerful cable it will just charge the phone at a max of 33w as that all the charger box can handle?? This is for a Poco x3 nfc(xiaomi). The later models had even faster charging hence the higher specification cables. Wondering if I could use one albeit not benefit from the full speed. They are more readily and cheaply available than the ones that came with mine originally Thanks in advance
  3. Ssliw(a second opinion)?? Also actual cost is 115, 000 not 125 as I originally thought Isn't Siriraj the place that's almost impossible to get seen at as a non Thai speaking farang ? I've have a feeling that I tried them the last time(fusion biopsy) and just couldn't get them to respond. And if memory serves me rightly that was a private patient. But I like you're thinking, just wondering if practically possible Clearly something makes you think it might be cheaper....
  4. Yes my pay day comment was a little misleading. I know it's high tech equip and has to come from Bkk too(to HH) about once per month. After the last Fusion biopsy the conclusion was PIRADS 3. Then after the MRI scan last week he concluded PIRADS 4. So my gut reaction was 'do we still need the biopsy then?' Anyways, further reading suggests it's wise Thanks again and for UK GP comment PS to all.... how do I get these godforsaken video adverts off my feed(mobile)?? ????????
  5. Fair comment. Good news re MPMRI and good luck Boomer
  6. yes but how long does it take to see your GP who can then refer you to the specialist at the local Hospital? so total time from phoning GP surgery to getting surgery apologies if this answered later im still reading the thread
  7. still wading through this excellent thread as re reregister with GP i have been out of UK for 3.5 yrs at what point does my GP surgery say im no longer registered with them? i still own my house so no probs there thanks
  8. slowly reading this entire thread.... what cost this treatment please ? thanks
  9. to be clear im due to have my third if not fourth biopsy next week since diagnosis in 2016 it will be my second MRI Fusion TRUS biopsy in 20 months where they use the MRI scan to pinpoint exactly where to take samples this is to check the progress of the cancer
  10. i completely agree with you both( i once had a hernia op in UK privately and im utterly convinced i never needed it!) to be fair no Thai doc has suggested surgery yet and if they did i would get at least one other opinion but as per my OP i would be most interested to receive any intel on best places to go for PC surgery/treatment (other than UK where im from) as and when i need to do that thanks for all replies to date
  11. Sheryl PSA 8 rising to 11.2 over 4 yrs MRI fusion TRUS biopsy may '21 showed gleason 3+3 in 60% of cores of one specific area. Assessed as PIRADS 3 Doc wants it repeating as part of active surveillance. Have to do MRI scan before MRI fusion TRUS biopsy. Mri scan assessed PIRADS 4 Biopsy next week
  12. PSAs slowly increasing now 11.2 Im overdue timewise apparently. Should be annually(now he tells me, didnt state that at last biopsy!) For various reasons it will end up being 20 months so he recently told me repeat biopsy asap the MRI scan showed adenocarcinoma same size but "abnormalities" increased from PIRADS 3 to 4 im definitely not against another biopsy i was just wondering how necessary it was IF treatment/surgery is now required. Just wondered if others had got treatement/surgery when entering PIRADS 4 ie at what stage do they take action ? But im probably jumping the gun and will probably require another biopsy for more detailed analysis of growth and gleason score Sheryl, is the gleason score the be all and end all and ultimate point of the biopsy? Thanks
  13. Hey Boomer, i hope youre doing ok did you do any more research on surgery out of Thailand? would appreciate any intel TIA
  14. Very sorry to hear that Sir Of course, its the lesser of two evils, but its still an evil all the same, well it is at this stage of my condition. Please understand ive had low grase PC for 6.5 years so in that time i do worry about the side effects of the treatemnt/ surgery as my condition was not regarded as dangerous But its now moving that way Its sounds like you never had the time to even worry about that I assume you had a Prostatectomy. Open or robot?
  15. See above, sorry my bad i definitely ahve Prostate Cancer The biopsy will probably reveal more but the last one concluded i was PIRADS 3 So after the MRI a few days ago he said i was PIRADS 4, i thought well now we know that is there any point in the biopsy? Hence asking others of their experiences there probably is(a reason) so im awaiting his(Urologist) reply
  16. My bad. Yes diagnosed prostate cancer 2016(Gleason 3+3) Had several MRIs and at least 2 biopsies under the active surveillance programme
  17. Sixty Becoming impotent and/or incontinent scares the living **** out of me!
  18. Sorry for being thick how do I find that thread? Thanks
  19. Completely agree! You make an excellent point But I need to establish at what point am I 'red-lining'?! But like you suggest I'll need convincing that it actually needs removing/radiation etc.
  20. Crikey, scary stuff! Thanks for feedback Going back to UK is not a good option at the moment though surely? NHS is on the brink of collapse I'm reading. Would I get treated/operated on if necessary? So where else could I go for it? Any recommendations anyone?
  21. My latest MRI scan of prostate shows that I'm now PIRADS 4. Doc now wants to do MRI Fusion TRUS biopsy(last done 18 months ago) but I've asked the question is that genuinely necessary now? Or have I reached the stage where I need radiation treatment or surgical removal? (await his response. I'm an old cynic. I'm wondering if it's just another good pay day at 125, 000 baht?! If its really necessary then fair enough. I'm not insured!) So I was looking to compare notes with people about what happens from here now? How immediately pressing is PIRADS 4? I know it means that "clinically significant cancer is likely to be present" But at what PIRADS stage do they normally take it out(or commence other treatment) ? I also wanted to compare notes about the latest views on Hospitals/ Doctors and of course prices for prostate removal (or radiation treatment) I live in Hua Hin so naturally I'm thinking Bkk In that regard I list below names of Doctors I collected from when I posted about 2 years ago (on a thread that I simply just cannot find despite searching for it this morning) Dr Sittiporn Srinualnad - Siriraj Private and Bumrungrad Dr Viroj Chodchoy at Bumrungrad Dr Charuspong Dissaranan at Bumrungrad Dr Danaiphand Bumrungrad Dr Sarayuth Viriyasiripong Bumrungrad Dr Thanoo Choovichian at Samitivej (no longer does surgery) Dr Niti in Pattaya (Bangkok Hospital) Chula Cancer Centre? Try BHN Bangkok Nursing Home thanks in advance
  22. It's a C class Merc. It was close to 4 yrs old when I bought it. Hard to believe its 7 years old next month. Only done 24000 miles Yes I would mot it beforehand so he could tax it The thing is whether he uses it or not(he's checking temporary insurances costs now) I think I need to get the car going and 'serviced' and run around for a few days. Otherwise I'm concerned it's just going to seize up. I would then get it used every 2 months by family Once I've done that and my pal has weighed up the cost of hiring versus the cost of a free rental(well, he pays tax and insurance only) then a decision can be made Failing that I might sell it as its a depreciating asset that has an ongoing maintenance burden Lastly the most annoying thing about this is that I bought that car 3 weeks before I came here. With hindsight I should've just rented knowing I was coming here but I thought I would return occasionally. As it happens I now have no interest in UK Thanks for the input much appreciated
  23. Looking for feedback from people about the logistics of putting a car back on the road in the UK from Thailand(or indeed from anywhere abroad). But specifically not for the owner(me) but for use by another. This is my scenario. My car has been sat outside the house for 3 years(yes needs a new battery, I have a local mechanic guy and can organise that from here). My best friend in New Zealand is visiting the UK this summer and wants to be able to use my car for 2 months. But the car has no tax(it is SORNed) no insurance or Mot So practical steps to get my car back on the road so that he can use it? MOT I can telephone my guy and organize this. The lack of road tax isn't a problem he can drive on the road without tax as long as going for MOT. I think the cost of the certificate is £55? VEHICLE EXCISE DUTY(Tax) the VED as far as I know can be done easily over the telephone in 5 minutes. You just phone DVLA, you follow the automated phone system, give the details of the vehicle to tax it and give card details to pay. He would have to pay for 6 months minimum (about £91) I'm assuming that anyone can tax a car(and pay) via this automated system. Assuming all they need is the 16 digit number on the V5C document. So I'm assuming he could do that on arrival INSURANCE I've no knowledge of this. Can my friend in NZ just insure himself and wife for a car abroad? (full vehicle details will naturally be supplied) ie what is needed to insure a car in UK? looking for feedback from people re this scenario TIA
  24. ok so to be clear, and for others reading this in future, ideally you need a combination of MP(multi parametric)MRI AND 3T(image power) So as to get the best possible images so the radiologist can write the most accurate report for the Urologist Doctor thanks
