Now that they are lifting restrictions to prevent the second wave, I wish they didn’t for another 3 months to seal the spread. It’s not like we can go to another country anyway. Europe and USA is still dealing with it and most of the surrounding countries many of you don’t or haven’t been since you put foot on this soil have visit. They still dealing with it.
So if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything.
What kind of nonsense is this?People are allowed to say something only if you like it?You should study what freedom of speech is.
Sounds like you should move to North Korea, it's the perfect place for people with your mindset.

You people still believe the first case outside of China was in Thailand in January.
This stuff been with us much longer than that, at least since November 2019.

I laugh so hard when they compare Thailand with other european countries who closed their borders way earlier than Thailand.
I remember very well in February Thailand was the ONLY country in SEA letting in all chinese without any screening.

It is more about morbid obesity, high levels of diabetes, high levels of heart disease, hin levels of cancer, and generally poor health amongst the masses. The diet in most of the US is dreadful. There are some more progressive cities, where more is known about nutrition. But in most of the nation, fast food, processed flour, fried foods, lots and lots of processed meat, and lots and lots of sugar rules the day, along with little to no exercise. It is no wonder.
Americans simply have very poor immunity. I knew months ago, if this thing hit the US, it was going to get ugly. And as the chart indicates, this thing is nowhere near over, with the re-opening of cities, and the ignorance of the use of masks and distancing. This is just a massive continuation of the first wave in the hapless US. #1 yes. In Covid.
Despite what the multitude of naysayers insist, Thailand did a wonderful job in the fight against Covid. It is deader than a doornail here. If we get a second wave, it is coming from outside.
Yes,like those 19 imported cases im Myanmar coming from Thailand.

I think you may well be right.
The scientists already agree that the initial virus mutated to what they call the Italian version. This sucker seems to like us too much to die out like SARS
I'm pretty sanguine that when I go in to get my annual flu shot, I'll be adding to that, Covid-20/21/22/23......
There's no such a thing as the Italian version, still with this bs nonsense.
There have been many mutation and it was NEVER proved to have any major difference from each other.
Or you want to tell me the Italian version is different from the French,Spanish or Iranian one?

I mentioned this to the manager and we had a chat for a few minutes about it, I said how I love going there. I admitted honestly to feeling some fear and unsafe. I'm still processing this response to see if I'm overreacting and whether it's unfounded and ungrounded.
You're feeling fear and unsafe about what exactly?A dozen farangs not wearing a mask in a 70 million people country without any new covid case?
0.18% death rate pandemic.
I really think many people need something to worry about in their life

They just admitted it's not the salmon, everyone with a small amount of brain would know that.
It blows my mind there are really people believing the salmon got infected in Norway and carried the virus to China.

I start to understand that in Asia including Thailand this is all about loosing face.
From central government down to mayors of the smallest villages they must show they can fight this virus without regard to any losses while accepting any collateral damage.
The only explanation for this whole paranoia.
Why is it possible to contain an outbreak in Germany in a meat factory with 400 infections? Only some local headlines. Not a big problem.
I think it's also related to the public opinion, here people are scared to death of this virus.
It's quite funny considering how reckless they are in their daily life.

Beijing grounds hundreds of flights and raises coronavirus threat level as ‘mutant’ strain cripples city

MORE than 1,000 flights in and out of Beijing have been grounded today after the city raised its alert level over fears of a new outbreak.
Worrying reports of a "mutant" strain of the coronavirus emerged as mass testing was carried out at makeshift sites in hard-hit districts of the city.

Thailand is opening up now.
But they are being careful and taking it slow.
I only wish my home country (USA) had done as good a job as Thailand.
They cannot open up with this policies, they are terrorized of getting new cases.
Nobody will come if they have to do 14 days quarantine.

The truth must be said and give kudos where kudos due, while other counties are still reeling under the covid with many new cases reported every day, Thailand has manged to flattens the curve big times, Well done Thailand...
Cambodia,Laos ,Vietnam all did better than Thailand.
Nothing extraordinary, it's obvious this virus was spreading very slowly here.

So the question remains. How close are the official numbers to the actual reality considering the limited testing here?
Impossible to know but it does seem apparent that Thailand is definitely doing well compared to many other countries.
It seems like here is a good place to include this subjective video by a now quite famous and highly informative UK doctor Campbell.
The based in Thailand contact here is of the opinion that the Thai official numbers are probably close to accurate although he isn't in a position to prove that.
BTW regardless of what you think about this particular video I highly recommend following Dr. Campbell to help keep current on all COVID-19 issues.
I refuse to watch that channel full of scaremongerer sheeple.
It's blatantly obvious majority of doctors keep exagerating things to keep their audience interested in their daily reports.

In Europe life is going back to normal, government realized you can't totally eradicate the virus and you' ll always have some infections along the road.
Thailand is in a very different and delicate position, they decided to not tolerate even a small numbers of new cases and that will make their journey much much more difficult.
