Wow,a law to allow lockdowns.
Seems like we are going back to stoneage

Personally all the people I have seen talking about their experience being infected with this and how horrible it is and the medico's and scientists who talk about possible long term damage are all lying. Bye the way if someone dies in a traffic accident it doesn't mean there is a possibility of me dying. If I come into contact with a covid infected person there is.
Strange because most of the famous people getting it have very mild or no sympthoms at all.

Just now, jackdd said:Afaik Thailand wants to wait until the majority of Thais is vaccinated, because then it's no big deal if somebody carries Covid into Thailand, it can't cause a pandemic.
Nobody knows yet if a vaccinated person can still carry the disease, but there is a chance that they can. So regarding the chance to bring Covid into Thailand it doesn't matter if you are vaccinated or not, thus you will have to go into quarantine, vaccinated or not.
We will see when soon most of other tourist destination will accept people without quarantine(some already do)

If they are 90% or 95%......that means potentially 10 people in 100 or 5 people in 100 are coming in with Covid.
And that will spread to all Thais as Thailand has no herd immunity and is very susceptible.
So of course 14 days quarantine must remain.
Until Thai's are vaccinated (due to commence May or June 2021) and all the at risk are done (by say October 2021) then ASQ and quarantine must remain for all people entering Thailand.
No problem, soon they will realize Covid is already spreading everywhere in Thailand and they will welcome tourist with the risk of someone being infected.

The vaccine is all there's going to be, it gets no better than that until there's a mutation which makes COVID itself harmless.
Nothing's 100% and never will be, that includes the quarantine.
If they wait for 100% then this will never end, they're not going to do that.
The problem is nowadays people want someone telling them they are 100% safe and they are immune to death.

The death toll has devastated families across the globe.
Covid has exposed the whole world to exactly what can happen if a virus spreads worldwide.
Some people like yourself just find out death , surprise for you people have always been dying since the start of humanity.
Every year 9 millions kids die of hunger and hundred of millions of other diseases/accidents.
Now drop your hypocrisy and welcome to the real world

The article implies the covid situation is getting worse, not better.
Yeah sure, the new super infectious strain for which everyone is freaking out and blocking flights from UK but now they realized it's actually been spreading since November.
This BS is hilarious

Not just Thailand but planet wide. That's what I fear more than "The Covid"
I'd rather get Covid then keep living in this dystopian world for a whole more year.
It's ridicolous the daily paranoia and brainwashing

And for those that do NOT believe the virus is spreading, here is a good example from South Korea, which just now reported it's highest covid death toll.

Wow, 40 deaths in a country of 60 millions.
Those are some serious pandemic numbers

Obviously you have no clue about what you are talking about
if you think Thai tourists can not be scared by the news about the virus
i recomand you to do few research about the number of reservations cancelled
(Hotels, restaurants ...) all done by Thai tourists in Thailand scared by the virus
I think not all of cancellation were due to virus fear, I cancelled mine because I thought there will be a lockdown and didn't want to lose my money or get stucked outside Bkk.

I agree.
From everything that I've read, a positivity rate of 44 percent is nothing short of horrifying.
Very horrifying, people are dropping like flies everywhere.
For now they found more than 1000 cases and not even 1 death, very alarming considering 60 people dying everyday on the road.

What ever gave you the idea there weren't sick people during the first wave? I know of two people who ended up in the hospital from it in March.
Everyone goes to hospital if tested positive in Thailand, even people without symptoms(which are the majority).
Also, you can go to hospital even for a flu and it happened to me 2 years ago here in Bangkok(and I am in my early thirties)

1 hour ago, Andy from Kent said:Whatever restrictions are enacted to control and eliminate the spread of the COVID-19 are welcomed by me if they're successful. I'm not a fan of big government but I am a fan of doing whatever is necessary to end this thing.
You will not "end this thing" with a lockdown, proof is we are here again in the same situation of March.

If what you say is the case (it could be even higher) that would make the death rate about 0.22% compared to the flu with 0.14%.Seems difficult to nail down a definitive asymptomatic percentage even among positive tests as well as the "dying with covid" and "dying from covid".
This is what WHO said on October 5th, which means now it will be way way higher maybe already 20% or more of global population.
It's pretty obvious the death rate of this virus is extremely low, just take a look at this Samut Sakhon outbreak for example.
Hundreds of millions of people may have already been infected with the novel coronavirus, far more than the current tally of around 35 million, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
"Our current best estimates tell us that about 10% of the global population may have been infected by this virus," WHO emergency operations chief Mike Ryan told the UN health agency's executive board on Monday in Geneva.

Cancelled my hotel booking at Hua Hin because I don't want to get locked out of Bkk.
Covid doesn't bother me at all but hysteria and hypocondriacs do.

Real number of people exposed to it are at least 10 times higher than official figures.
Who estimated around 2 months ago already 700 millions people so now should be even higher.
Most countries are barely testing and even rich ones are not detecting all the infections since most are asymptomatics.

They are huddled together with the "masks don't help" and "virus is a hoax" folks trading conspiracy theories I suspect.

They did not contain anything. They just don't test millions of people like in western countries. Testing millions of people with just 1% error rate of the PCR test returns hundred thousands false positives so there you go with the pandemic charade. It's the Bayes theorem . Most people believe that a paper panty on their face will save them from a deadly virus. So funny.
It doesn't seems so deadly if nobody can notice it without testing.

People past their life expectancy? Seriously? You're heartless. And many in the prime of their lives are being struck down also, some suffering long term effects.
A covid denier for sure.

You are really hilarious, your replies have 0 content, just hypocrisy without any point.
Just repeating like a parrot what you hear on TV.
I will only reply to someone who can hold a intelligent conversation from now on.
