Sawadee.com is the one I always use for Thailand.
Never had a problem with their prices or service.

Thanks guys. We've already ordered it, and she who must be obeyed is going to give them a call today to try and get an update, and possibly offer an inducement.
As it's only my 2nd "New Car" I'm like a small child who is impatient to play with their new toy.

Thanks for the replies. We've been told by the dealer that it could be anything up to 90 days.
So your delivery times give me hope that it will be sooner.

Does anyone have recent experience of the delivery time from ordering a (new)Toyota Pick Up in Bangkok to delivery.
And roughly how long from the dealer being notified of expected delivery to them actually receiving the vehicle.
Thanks in advance.

No problems with Domestic departures.

Some friends have just stayed at Tong Ta (Spelling) and were happy with the place as my wife and I were when we stayed some time ago.

My family and I have just returned from Phuket after a short stay at the Deevana Resort in Patong.
Nothing but praise for the place. Clean rooms, excellent staff, 2 pools and walking distance to the beach and Soi Bangla.

The best one I read was the "Trolleys On Escalators" started by Weho in 2007.

It's available in the Duty Free shop on departures at BKK (last Sunday), so may well be available in the arrivals duty free shop.
From memory it was 900 baht.

Please can anyone recommend a good shop in Bangkok where I can buy duvets/quilts (the type that need covers) at a reasonable price.
I'm also looking for padded mattress protectors.
Thanks in advance

Yes. As my wife always goes first, she politely asks if I can go through.
So far they've never said no.
I always ensure I say Hello and Thank them.

I have also used Ronsonol a few times with the same result.
Whenever possible I use Zippo fluid,it lasts a lot longer.
I usally top up my Zippo every week, just to be sure.

Mobileme is another option, though it requires an annual subscription.
Access key can be purchased cheaply on ebay.

If you haven't found out by Saturday I'll let you know as I'll be passing through but I've got the idea that it's somewhere around 2,000~2,200 Baht for the Green Label.
Thanks, that would be very much appreciated.

Please could someone let me know the duty free prices at Suvarnabhumi for Johnny Walker Green Label & 12 year Old Glenlivet.
I've had a look at the King Power web site, but have so far been unable to find any prices.
I am aware that I may be able to buy cheaper in town, but due to the weight of our checked in luggage, duty free purchasing is our better option.

My wife and I have used the "Pordee" several times for 1 or 2 nights over the last couple of years.
Rooms are around 600 baht and it's located a few minutes drive from the city.

RBA are now using 777's on the LHR-BWN route. BWN-BKK is usually an A320.
Food is pretty poor.
In flight entertainment is average. On the older 767's which are now out of service the IFE often broke down.
Cabin crew are fairly poor in comparison to other SE Asian carriers.
As you are likely to have a few hours layover in BWN, I would suggest bringing your own entertainment as the airport lounge has very little to offer.
RBA is dry, though you can drink your own alcohol. Several of the miniature bottles should be ok to pass through security.
If you are transiting through BWN with duty free bottles, they will be confiscated due to the liquid & gel regulations.

This thread has a better listing Hotels near Airport

You don't send the old passport.
From Passport renewals
4 In addition to your completed application form, photos and fee, you will need to submit a clear photocopy of the data page of your previous passport. The passport being renewed will be electronically cancelled and is therefore not valid for use from the moment you submit your application. On receipt of your new passport you must physically cancel your old passport by cutting the corners of the photo page and the front and back covers. Failure to do so may leave your replaced passport open to abuse. Alternatively you should visit the British Embassy to have your replaced passport physically cancelled. So you will still have the old passport to show Thai immigration, or whoever, if required. Although you could not use it to leave Thailand and so could not do so until you received the new one.
It seems that there is conflicting information on the Consulates web site:
Renewing your passport or changing information in your passport
"If you are applying to renew your passport or change information in it, in addition to the documents, you must also provide:
your current passport or
your old passport - the passport that has expired"

So you've spent over 100,000 baht on 5 i-phones and you want to put them in your checked in baggage.
That is like waving a red rag to a bull.
At least hand carry 2 or 3 of them to lessen the risk of them being stolen en route.

Time to bump this again.

There's a sports shop on Sukhumvit, a couple of minutes from Soi 5 that may be able to help.
Sorry, I can't recall the name.
