I would say a 40-50% discount on Pattaya rentals would not be hard to come by......
50% of some thing is a lot better than 100% of nothing....

And they won't be the ones being fined up to 100,000 baht and or a year in jail, farangs will. Why chance it?
Some people I have seen enjoy living dangerously.....

The owner of this one offered me this one for 8,500 instead of 9,000, the agency is Paradise Realty: https://www.thailand-property.com/condo-for-rent-in-the-gallery-jomtien-chonburi_4002368
The one I rented was from with the agency Thompson Property but I did not want to show it here because it would make the location of my new rental place public.
The agencies do not offer discounts, the owners do. I think the agency does not influence that so everyone should be able to find discounted condos at every agency when they ask for it.
For this place I would not pay 1 baht over 6,000....Now that I think about it 5,000 max.....

It depends on where you're staying. In Chonburi everybody is required to wear a face mask when going outside. There's an up to 20k fine if not wearing it. It's the same in several provinces. If you and others here at TV read local news online you would know.
I see many people not wearing face masks in Pattaya.....20k yea right.... Many Thais dont seem to know and could care less.....

Makes me glad I returned to Australia, very few people wearing masks here, not even most supermarket cashiers. Do you think that compulsory mask wearing will be eventually lifted along with other restrictions, or will it continue indefinitely? I imagine they make even moderately intense exercise impossible. Maybe when beaches and pools are opened, swimming will be the only way people can exercise (presumably mask not compulsory while swimming!)
I am sure people in all countries will eventually be required to wear masks....What better advertising is there for the whole Coved extravaganza....Than required facemasks....

There's a bit of a contradiction here. First you say 'If you could see them, they wouldn't be very effective, would they?'
Then later, you say 'check the streets streets/BTS in Bangkok, they're everywhere'.
Get my drift?
I've been reading up on 'smart airports' where these cameras can speed up the processing time as passengers move through the system. Good idea, but FR cameras everywhere? No, I don't think so.
Only China seems to be moving toward that 'big brother' era on a large scale at the moment.
I guess you have not heard of contact tracing...

Judging by the booze ban, they'll soon announce that the beach will be closed until the end of August, and then quietly reopen it the next weekend.
I would not be so sure about that......Sitting on the beach is a despicable crime...

Dont worry about the beach just go to one of Pattayas many parks....errrr.......I ment one of Pattayas many hiking trails......errrr.....I ment one of Pattayas many forest reserves.....errrr
Well I guess Pattaya only has a beach for outdoor recreation and its closed so instead of getting exercise you can sit at home and watch T.V

This is why we are the biggest sheep ever.....
This is why we always believe the media and never question anything...
don't worry, i wouldn't defend this guy AT ALL....but i'm simply stating the fact that we don't think....we read, believe, and judge. then get mad and say the media lies
Note: I understand the article says he confessed. But, again, we know forced confessions happen and we know people say others confess and they don't. maybe this is a bad example for my rant.....since he certainly seems guilty...but let's not condemn him to death until he sobers up and gets a lawyer and has a trial.
Sir like you said you could have picked a better case for this argument....I dont think you could have picked a worse case really....
So what does he have in his favor?......Zilch is what he has in his favor......
Save this argument for the next Thai woman that falls from her farangs balcony..

Because each state had different restrictions they banned interstate travel and did lots of testing and tracing. Good job.
Having Qtip rammed in you nose all the way to your lower brain to test for a virus is just a way to demoralize people..... And should not be praised in any way......EVER..
Its not needed but they are doing it every where....

If I were (and I am not) a well placed, powerful politico with an agenda, I would want to test a theory before implementing it on a larger scale. It is one thing to respond to an obvious need for public welfare and quite another thing to use that situation (manifest it?) as part of a larger deployment. Last week I broke my crystal ball. so I will just say it is gut instinct; that this is only the beginning of a series of pandemics/government shutdowns/crises/ social reorganization programs that will be moderated and escalated to achieve an end no normal person has any concept of.
If you look deeper into this matter and where all this might be going....Its not pretty.....I will stop here least some one tell me to put on a tin foil hat....

I hope the government are going to issue free of charge medication for those who have drink issues as they will be doing cold turkey there is no other country in the world that has made such an idiotic decision.
Read my lips this has nothing to do with trust ZERO.......But has every thing to do with exerting power and control....
And dont even tell me they dont know what a prolonged ban will do to the Thai economy.....They know 100%......
Covid my azz......The destruction of business will be immense....

All you cheerleaders cheering this on with out thinking might want to take note of the fact there is a 100% ban on migrant workers entering Thailand now.......
The ban on these chemicals with no replacements would have been devastating to food production and now with out migrant workers THERE WILL BE NO FOOD PRODUCTION........Think people......

The NO vote was winning very heavily in the first 24 hours of the vote.....And then out of the blue the YES vote came roaring back and over took the NO vote???......But most of the new YES votes did not make any posts.....

Then your one of the stupid ones, and don't have the right to complain if you get infected. When a working vaccin is available in Thailand, I promise that you won't be able to enter Thailand without having that shot. People in Thailand will imo need to have that shot.
Hey Mr gung-ho injection man.....You can have my flu shot and my vaccine....

Problem #1.......The police are poorly paid in Thailand
Problem #2.......The police are use to living pretty high on the hog because of all the gray businesses in Pattaya....
Problem #3......All the grey businesses are now shut down......
So I would not be surprised if what the OP spoke of became more common...
