Doubt that, Laos and Cambodia are relatively poor countries, but have a much better record than LOS regarding the bug. It seems vits B2 and D have played a role in the survival rates...
You could be right. I put it down to the climate and the Thai custom of retaining their personal space, including not shaking hands. But as i said, we don't really know.

LOS does not have the problems of western EU countries...Its problems are the same as those other countries of this peninsular, mild...
We all share the same problem....Covid-19. Yes SE Asia has been impacted much less but who's to say why? Could be the more stringent measures in Thailand, we just don't know.

what about them?
Ripped jeans I can tolerate, clown pants are for fancy dress parties. Ever seen a Thai wearing them in a bar?

The Thai government.

Not really. If charges are to be brought by the state for something silly, they will not arrest and charge my phone.
Or, if I inadvertently engaged in lese majeste, I do not think my phone would be deported. Enough of a distinction for me!
If you don't have your phone with you, they will be tracking your phone, not you, ergo they will have no idea where you are. But i think you knew that anyway.

As I said those attitudes are long gone, you refer to ripped jeans and t shirts as innapropriate dress code for a beach bar in Thailand but actually it is perfectly acceptable, it's called dressing down. Oh and like it or not ripped jeans are fashionable nowadays. Why you think someone dressing down lacks dignity tells me you either don't understand the word or you are horribly snobbish.. ????????
And elephant pants?

Also much more to that story. Allegedly he got his money back (if he ever paid it).

Just like the economy needs to be ruined no matter how many people will suffer !
Now as a matter of fact idiotic laws come from idiotic lawmakers for idiots to follow !
And there are many idiots who actually love to see completely idiotic laws being enforced by idiots
so that the idiots can feel like good law abiding people ... and not as idiots.
The only thing missing is any evidence of a Pandemic or any scientific evidence that any of the
measures actually work. According to the WHO they don't !
But idiots also believe that 3000 Corona Cases [Government number] for more than 1000 hospitals in Thailand
brings down the health system and nurses and doctors are working at their limits ... with 3 cases per hospital !!!
... not sure if it can get any worse in case of Idiocracy !!!
My daughter is working in ICU in the UK. Her life is in danger every time she goes to work. The more patients on the ward, the bigger the danger.
The biggest threat to her life are the moronic idiots who insist that Covid-19 is nothing more than flu and act in a completely selfish manner by ignoring the regulatons, spreading the virus and prolonging the lockdown.

The lockdown was more inconvenient than the beaches being closed. You can't swim in the sea in Pattaya anyway. Covid-19 can be transmitted via human feces.

Yes, they will severely punish the foreigners, the Thais maybe a B500 baht fine and a wai and a further B250 if they were not wearing a motorbike helmet.
There was a similar report about Pussycat bar in Pattaya in TVF recently. 5 Thais 3 farangs arrested in identical circumstances. All but the owner were fined 2k baht. Thais and farangs.

All of that is a completely different story, than giving the government a free ride and a license to track your every move.
No thanks.
There's a subtle difference between tracking your phone and tracking you. Its not an implant.

Yes. I don't fully understand it but I always get the urge for a bowel movement at precisely 5am. Once you're up, you're up. Breakfast dispatched, wife yak yaks me to have a shower. "OK teerak but only if I can see some point to it."

As you get older beer tends to look better value for money.
1,500bht can buy me a lot of beer, and it takes longer than 10 minutes to finish.
10 minutes? Surely you jest. These days the girls in my local bar call me "Khun haa natee".

If you hang around Soi bukhao in Pattaya and Soi Canterbury tales you will meet expats who spend their whole day sitting there, especially at Canterbury tales café,sometimes everyday
I can't imagine why someone would want to do that.
OK. My routine post Covid. Up at 5am. Cappuccino and toastie whilst doing a bit of surfing watching the news. 8.30am Small full English and another cappuccino, made by the wife. 10.30 shower and BJ. 12.30 lunch. Catch up on UK TV then siesta. 5pm. swim (since Monday). 6pm more food. Surfing and watching UK TV. 9pm bed and Netflix movie. Apart from trips to the bedroom, most of my waking hours are spent on the patio.
Pre Covid not too dissimilar but would dine out 3-4 times per week and have an evening soiree in a local bar once or twice per week.
I missed my visit to the bars the least, initially, now I miss them the most.

interesting more are wanking, I had a expat farang once tell me that after 16 years living in Pattaya he found that more satisfying...and cheaper...than a bargirl.
I wonder if that holds true in some cases?
Really? Strange people you mix with.

If they close all places of entertainment, what's there to do in Pattaya? They're using all their power
to discourage tourists to visit The Land of Smiles and if they keep doing it they could ending succeeding!
They are doing their best to keep Thailand covid free. Tourists=Covid, particularly Brits and Americans.
Good job Thailand, I for one am grateful.
