  1. Musk's US companies employ roughly 125,000 people who might not be so happy about it. He's also the biggest taxpayer in US history, and he has more right to help reduce government waste than any other person in the US.
  2. Don't be ridiculous! The only reason Ukraine held out more than a few weeks is due to Europe, and mainly your countries' military aid.
  3. Agree. It's the most ridiculous poll I've ever seen. Are members getting bored?
  4. No imagination is required - I know how bad this is going to be - it's total destruction, and everyone except a few lucky people has perished in the rubble.
  5. Not at all; the building disintegrated into a large pile of rubble. No one survived that, and a lot of anonymous people have lost their lives. RIP to all who passed today.
  6. Yes, I had one person claim that already. I asked if they were waiting for the earthquake to set off the charges. They timed it well, considering this was the first destructive earthquake in the 2 centuries of Bangkok's history, and in the 200 years, just over 20 earthquakes.
  7. I'm expecting at least 90 victims in that building collapse. Don't take it personally, but that's how many are missing so far. You might have missed it, but the building disintegrated. It turned to dust.
  8. Yes, a much more believable figure. The building turned to dust, so most people were crushed, although they wanted to keep people's hopes alive. I suspect a large number of illegal, undocumented workers will be lost in that rubble, so the true figure might never be known.
  9. Powerful earthquakes can make many buildings unsafe even if they remain intact after the first tremor. Evacuation is essential until the buildings can be inspected. I'm pretty sure if you were on the 20th or 30th floor of a highrise, you'd be out on the street, too. There's also a risk of aftershocks, which can collapse buildings weakened from the initial quake. As of 25 minutes ago, there were reports of 169 buildings damaged. RIP, crane operator.
  10. That's the wrong question. 50% of whom?
  11. Indirectly, it does answer your question, but that depends on what life would have been like if you had stayed at home, breathing clean air instead of the polluted air you've been breathing in Thailand. My life over the last 25 years would have been miserable back in my home country for many reasons. Being happy with pollution was probably healthier for me as the mental state is more important for health. Even if it doesn't mean more years ultimately, it's better years.
  12. I have no idea what your escorts cost back at home (NZ?). I don't P4P in Pattaya myself, but I've been out on the town with many friends visiting who were not on tight budgets. Of course, the prices vary greatly, but you must pay the fine and then negotiate with the girl. I'm talking about taking the girl out, not in an ST room. Factor in rounds of drinks, and 5000 won't get you much. The point was that if you want a big night out in Pattaya, with lots of barhopping, 15,000 wouldn't be enough. (this was in response to one member freaking out because the Canadian had 15,000 of cash on his person when he was robbed). Of course, locals can "survive" on much less than that LOL. It's a reason why dating apps are so popular these days, and then there's always the "coconut bar" option for punters on a low budget.
  13. Yes, the tears never stop flowing. There's always time for another "I hate Trump" thread. The prize goes to the Biden Administration as the most incompetent.
  14. You're probably not up to date. A takeaway for a short time can cost a tourist 5000 and up these days if he's looking for topshelf. More than 10 years ago, a couple of Aussie friends clocked up a 10k bill in a gogo in an hour. It doesn't go far if you're out to have fun. You can budget, sure, but 15k is not as much as you seem to think for a big night out.
  15. Does it matter how many years you've lived? It's the quality of the years that count rather than quantity..
