  1. Blah blah. I know pointless discussion when i see one. Y'all have a nice day listening to the Victrola.
  2. I transfer earning weekly using Wise, its been flawless for me for years, but faster in the the last 6 months.
  3. why would i even bother to engage in such a curmudgeonly circular discussion? We both know already you wouldn't accept any answers i gave you. The fact that you would even ask the question is proof of my point. I could, however, ask what do Bowie, Pink Floyd or the Rolling Stones have against Mozart, Beethhoven or Vivaldi?
  4. It would seem you have no idea how employment actually works in Thailand. Once someone makes it past the three month probation period here, it is very difficult to let them go. The thai labour dept is very much on the side of the employee, knowing your rights can be very profitable indeed.
  5. its not about continuing to work for a company, its about taking them to the cleaners for wrongful dismissal. I have several friends that have walked away from being let go with a year or more salary in the bank. A number of years ago in Thailand I was was let go from a software multinational with 3 years salary as severance because they had no legitimate reason to let me go, so a significant severance package was their only option.
  6. Every old fart ever has complained that music is dead or dying. Yet somehow it persists. This thread is little more than a tired cliche.
  7. Perhaps you didn't recognize the irony, but that would just make you more of a fool than i already suspect you are. Taken at face value, that is a bold assumption from someone who hasn't attended any of the events I have promoted, spent an afternoon digging through my music collection (vinyl, CD or digital) or been by my side at any of the gigs I have attended in the last 30 years. I listen to anything I can, even more so since the advent of streaming and the purchase of a quality dac to round out my ever evolving sound system. Have you seen Nirvana, Nina Simone, or Tom Waits live? Not your thing? Then how about The Grateful Dead, Rush, The Who, the Stones or the Kinks, Bowie, Neil Young (admittedly i was in my teens for those) ? Something more modern perhaps? Pixies, Ween, Pavement, Swerverdriver, Delite, Soul II Soul? Hip hop? I went to an Asap Rocky show when I was last in the states, and I'm pretty fond of Belly. Prefer electronic (not EDM)? Then how about Orbital, Schpongle, DeepDish, Hot Since 82, Superflu, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, or Maceo Plex. I really couldn't even list 1/10th the bands and DJs I have seen and, in many cases, met over the years. Do please tell me what folk like you with "a knowledge of music" are listening to today? Perhaps Black Pink and that asshat David Guetta speak more to your discerning palette?
  8. Indeed, because "rocking" is the exclusive domain of people over 70.
  9. which is wide open. Destination country does not mean home country.
