Is plastic recycling a hoax made up by Big Oil?
wpcoe replied to flyingtlger's topic in General Topics
My sister's apartment in San Diego had two dumpsters: one for recyclables, and one for non-recyclable trash. I watched the garbage truck empty both of the dumpsters into the same compartment on the back of the truck. Recycling, indeed. -
Thanks. I get the clear feeling that I wouldn't be able to get (all of) the money out of Thailand while I remain overseas, which means Plan C (the paralegal) seems the way to go. The paralegal was recommended by the real estate agency, and I've done a purchase and a sale from them and I do have confidence in the agency. The paralegal said: "... if you want us to transfer money for you then for the final payment of this condominium unit, the buyer has to buy a cashier’s cheque and payable to our name in order that we can transfer on your behalf." I'm going to email the owner of the agency and get his reassurances that this is a safe and reliable procedure and that he has confidence with this paralegal. He is well regarded in the Pattaya area.

I'm expecting to close a condo sale in Pattaya next month and have given a Thai paralegal Power of Attorney to represent me at the Land Office. The proceeds will go into my Bangkok Bank savings account, but I live permanently in Mexico. Can I then transfer the money out of Thailand from either the Bangkok Bank web site or their smart phone app? I have a DeeMoney account that I've had a long time and never used, and they have a maximum of B800k per transfer, but I guess that could work as a Plan B? Anybody see any reason why I couldn't keep making B800k transfers until it's all overseas by using their smart phone app from overseas? (I would need to make four transfers, and I would be transferring to a USA bank.) As Plan C, the paralegal says she can do it for another THB10,000 fee, but of course, if I don't need to pay that, I won't.

Good job trying to get it into the bottle. I had a family of golden tree snakes in a house and they always escaped to things with holes in them, like the back of a TV cabinet with holes for wires, into the open ends of the square iron support beams in the roof, etc. Maybe if it hadn't been a clear bottle, it might have worked. Clearly the guy knew it wasn't a harmful snake.

Did a person write that or ChatGPT? -
I found this route map in a Google search. They must be planning something other than those prop planes if they will be flying to Australia & New Zealand, no?

Suvarnabhumi Airport opens automated channels to foreign travellers
wpcoe replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Hopefully this is only the first phase. A nice second phase would be automated channels for arrivals. -
The shortest trans-Pacific commercial flights are Tokyo (TYO, includes Haneda & Narita airports) to Seattle (SEA) or Vancouver (YVR), about nine hours. So, you could fly BKK-TYO-SEA/YVR-LAS. Checking TYO-SEA, it's flown non-stop by ANA (NH), Japan Airlines (JL) and Delta (DL). NH codeshares with United (UA) and THAI (TG). And JL codeshares with Alaska Airlines (AS) and American (AA). So, check itineraries on the NH, JL, DL, UA, TG AS & AA websites for tickets, looking specifically for flying via SEA.

Using the US, a person with $40,000,000 is a millionaire. So is a person with $1,000,000. In Thailand, a person with B40,000,000 is a millionaire. Is a person with B1,000,00 a millionaire, too? -

What does the term "millionaire" mean here? Does it mean he had at least one million baht? Or, one million USD/GBP/EUR? Or, ???
