In a Jomtien condo. Thanks. I don't think that's the issue. When the dryer runs a light comes on indicating the dry cycle when the door is closed and the start button is pushed. That light still comes on now when I press the start button, but the drum doesn't move. Unfortunately I'm slightly mobility impaired these days. Ten years ago I would have been ripping the machine apart. These days I pay for guys/gals to do that stuff. Thanks. If I don't get a solid recommendation for a repair person, that's probably the way I'll go. Thanks for the feedback everybody. Well most of you. ????

My clothes dryer sat idle for the 3.5 years while I was gone. Yesterday I used it for two small-ish loads of laundry, and for a third load it wouldn't run. Any recommendations for a repair person to give an estimate on how much that would cost to fix? I won't spend a lot of money on it, but if it can be fixed economically I might fix it.

I waited at the old (pre-2020) spot on Thepprasit near the Thappraya intersection didn't see any baht buses. Do they only run Mon-Fri, or have that actually not yet resumed on the Thepprasit route?

Oh. I guess I'll head to City Hall first and see if I can do it all in one visit there. Are there English language markings leading folks to the property tax office? My Thai was never all that good, but having been gone for 3.5 years now, I can't remember much.

Yeah, I "get it." I have used a set of "Bag Podz" (google it if you're bored) for several years and they're strong, compact and easy to carry. I'll bring them with me.

Thanks for the info. I have some sturdy "Bag Podz" I use and will bring them. They're compact and easy to carry. I don't recall ever registering in the online system. I guess I should just go to Immigrations and do an in-person report. Is it easy to enroll in the online system? Good news. Last I had read (which was a while ago) the Thepprasit route hadn't returned. I vaguely remember some tax-related office there. Thanks!

1. Do stores (7-11, Tesco, Food Mart, etc) still provide free plastic shopping bags? 2. As a 30-day visa-exempt visitor to my own condo, can I do a TM.30 report online? As a previous full-time resident on a retirement extension I had one on file before and was told (by Immigrations) that I didn't need to renew it. I'm assuming that's different now without a retirement extension? 3. Is there a regular baht bus service on Thepprasit Road again? 4. Apparently there has been a new (or newly enforced old?) real estate tax being collected. I believe I'm a couple years in arrears. Does that require going to City Hall on Pattaya Neua to resolve?

Sounds like DTAC is following the path SCB is following. I've used SCB's online web site to download transactions and make manual payments (like to my condo management for annual fees) SCB is discontinuing online web site banking in favor of smart phone app. I can't seem to enable the SCB app while I'm here in Mexico. And, even if I could, there's no way to download transactions. Progress?

The Airport Limousine buses from NRT are a third option and go to directly to many of the bigger hotels.

Thanks. I am coming for a visit soon, and on my list of things to do was to go there for a checkup and cleaning. I wasn't sure they were still there, but sounds like they are,

Prime minister’s most complicated, treacherous and unenviable task

I hope they (MFP) strategize & execute such a plan effectively. But, I am not Thai and it's not my country, so I don't really have a say in any of it. -
Prime minister’s most complicated, treacherous and unenviable task

If this government is "able to change the constitution which allows the appointment of the Senate," does that mean there will need to be another election for the citizenry to select Senators? If so, wouldn't it be likely that disillusioned Pheu Thai voters would switch to Move Forward? And, a further if so, wouldn't that possible outcome make the current government unlikely to favor a movement to undo the current system of an appointed Senate? -
Well, wasn't he in Hong Kong not long ago? That's where I used to buy all my counterfeit watches.

Red Line train earns high satisfaction scores, increases operating hours

isn't it concerning that safety didn't get 5.0/5.0? What issues with safety did those riders see/experience that led them to score less than 5.0? -

New Road Construction Project Coming to Jomtien Beach

From this diagram, it looks like it'll be down from four lanes to two? That should be fun. -
New Road Construction Project Coming to Jomtien Beach

The linked source article mentions "Deva Beach Resort Hotel". Do they mean the "D Varee Jomtien Beach" hotel? I didn't know where a Deva Beach hotel was so I Googled it and came up empty. -

I plan to close my two SCB accounts on my trip to Thailand this month. I will keep my (one) Bangkok Bank account since, at least for now, I can still download transactions. I originally only had one SCB account in Pattaya, but opened a second one when I lived in Hua Hin. Then I opened a Bangkok Bank account when they still allowed simple (ACH) transfers of money from the USA. It's overdue that I simplify things, so thanks, SCB, for persuading me to close your accounts.
