It is quite interesting, if you look at the pictures, that very many of the tents are identical!
Almost as if they were being bought in bulk and issued out to those who need them - all quite spontaneously of course, I mean no planning or funding involved!
Amazingly well organised place America, where you can place an order for 500 identical tents to be delivered the day after tomorrow!
" American Express?"
"That will do nicely Mr Al Ambassador!"

Yes, I have been struck a couple of times by the irony, whilst attending Mass, of a couple of young girls going up to receive Holy Communion in tee shirts emblazoned with that slogan. I am pretty sure they had no idea of their slogans meaning!.

Can't you go back for holidays to use the NHS?
I believe that if you "return" there is a six month period before you can use the NHS, and then you have to satisfy them that your return is permanent.
I am sure that if you turned up chronically sick they would not let you die in the car park...
I'm actually quite satisfied with the treatment I received from the Thai health service. It is actually not that expensive, here. However in the UK it would be much more expensive, and a cost which would have to be born by the state (which was my point)

One thing though, that I do not understand:
What about
Stormy Daniels, and...
David Pecker?
Or, for that matter....
Stormy Pecker?
Anyone got the lowdown on those two?
Are they on the up, and UP?
HARD to keep up with Trump, and his Pecker story.
Someday, all of this embarrassment will be BEHIND us....
Stormy Daniels, if she testifies, Is going to be hilarious.
Of course, there is only one question everyone wants to hear asked...

When I was living in The American South, I went into a Confederate Flag store and the Trump hats all had made in China stickers. I said the owner: "Hat made in China. Election faked in Russia".
And the redneck said:
"Whatever it takes".
What stance did he take when he drew his pistol to shoot you: double handed, single handed, supporting the gun arm at the elbow, waving it around held sideways "rapperstyle"?

It is rather entertaining watching the treasury scratching around down the back of the sofa looking for a bit of cash, isn't it?

Different countries have different approaches to overcrowding at tourist hotspots.
Greece, appointments to view and entry charges to the Acropolis.
Thailand "Sorry, Wat Arun and Grand Palace closed today, but I take you to very good tailor, OK?"

Enjoy it while you can.
There are no pockets in a shroud.
I've never really understood the zeal for accumulating massive wealth amongst the very elderly - not just in Thailand. I mean, what good is it ever going to do them?

Thank you for that meaningful contribution to the discussion - entirely unconnected I am sure with a recent "clash" ( on the subject of Trumpion shenanigans if I recall) on "AN".
Nothing quite like waiting poised, the irony still vaguely lukewarm, until an opportunity to strike!

it happens often here. in bkk a few years back it started to rain really hard a few hundred meters from my destination. as i was getting to a turn i tried to start turning before i was slow enough to. was only going about 10 or 15. due to heavy rain and too fast into the turn the bike went down and me with it. ended up about a half foot from a black benz. the driver put the power window down looked out at his car to make sure i didn't hit him. he then put the window up without saying a single word to me and drove off.
I came off my bike in a heavy storm a couple of weeks ago at about 10pm. A large tree branch came down across the road and I hit it. I was not going very fast at all - it was as black as the earl of hells waistcoat; but I was thrown across the road. Lying there stunned and battered, feeling like I had gone 3 rounds with Mike Tyson. Two cars pulled up, one each side of the site, and sat their watching me from about 30 metres away. I was able to drag myself into the gutter. They sat there watching for 20 minutes or so until a "rescue pick up" arrived and took me to hospital. No one got out of either car - mind you it was still raining quite hard!
By contrast, the "rescue crew" were excellent. They took me to hospital, contacted my daughter and even recovered the damaged bike.

I recently extended my visa waiver entry by 30 days. Daughter came with me but the I.O. said she didn't need to, copy of birth certificate was sufficient. She also told me that when that extension expires I can apply for a second (60) day extension on the same basis. I was surprised, but she was adamant that was the case!

If I was in the UK, I would receive an uprated Pension , Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Winter Fuel Allowance, free NHS treatment ( which in my case would be quite expensive), a Bus Pass and probably other benefits and allowances. It should easily double, and more, what I cost the state!

A criminal has a private meeting with the PM. I bet there were no secretaries taking minutes in that meeting!!
I think the concept of taking minutes at government meetings rather went into abeyance during the Prayer/Prawit/Suthip meetings in May 2024!
Never really to be revived...

She can't even get her propaganda right. The constitution specifically prevents unchecked power with 3 branches of government.
Are you seriously suggesting that with Trump in the White House, a Republican majority in Congress and the current Supreme Court there would be any check on him?
Trump could win the Presidency through the Electoral College (albeit whilst losing the popular vote). A Republican majority in Congress is possible, (again without a majority of the popular vote) due to the remarkable amount of gerrymandering inherent in the system, along with some determined voter prevention, and the Supreme Court is a done deal. He only needs the first two years, before the 2026 mid term elections to cement a permanent Republican majority.
This could be the last proper election America has.

Don't ear candle or let massage shops poke metal things in your ear.
Bangkok pattaya hospital will do it at a price, ( very expensive )
With the added advantage that if, like many of us of a certain age, you have hair growing out of your ears, it will be a startling blonde colour!

Why would anybody pay a police fine into a personal bank account? It doesn't make any sense.
And the police officer must be also mentally challenged. Receiving bribes per traceable bank transfers. What a glorious idea.
Well I suppose the offer of a hefty 50% discount would clinch the deal. If the fine is recorded as paid, job done.
As for traceable bank transfers, he probably simply never expected anyone to bother tracing them.
Imagine it, traffic officer issues fine from pad, "close friend" receives pad, receives money, issues receipt. If there is no independent accounting or cross referencing of tickets issued and receipts issued (and "close friend" is no doubt responsible for reconciling the two) then job is a good 'un!
Probably a defamation case pending...

Quick pocket guide - Bannon is the aging rocker who badly needs to wash his hair, Bolton is the one who looks like the fire chief from Trumpton.
Alternatively, Bolton is the one who makes rather more sense!

Scooter - Automatic vs Semi

Manual gear change is much more common in the UK than automatic gear boxes.
I think I am qualified to comment, not only do I have lots and lots of English friends, but I am English!
