Is ‘virtually impossible’ a risk you would be happy with?
Or do you share my view that it was entirely correct to avoid even the slightest possibility of of a mistrial, especially when there was absolutely no reason to provide any statements that could give rise to that happening?
Clearly not a risk that was considered when making statements before the arrest and trials of protesters, rioters(?) or social media posters.

One of the "selling points" often made for the Grippen is that it is capable of landing and taking off from roads.
What is usually ignored is that these stretches of road are specifically constructed/reinforced to take the stresses of having aircraft landing and taking off on them.
Furthermore just about every road in Thailand is lined ( often on both sides) with concrete utility poles.

Diana, Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul were killed in a traffic collision is a fact and they are gone. The rest are just stories.
The bloke (bodyguard) in the front right hand side of the Mercedes was wearing a seatbelt, he survived the traffic accident.
I owned a Fiat Uno for a short while. It was the ultimate in crap cars, and I have owned some appalling heaps over the years, I used to buy old bangers on EBay and throw them away when the tax or MOT expired! If I wanted to stage an accident, or get involved in high speed dodgems with a big heavy Mercedes it would be my absolute last choice.

I guess you would Starmer to make statements that might very well put the trial of this heinous killer at risk of collapsing?
You haven't answered the very relevant point made by @Petemcc64, that with the overwhelming evidence against the children's killer, it would be virtually impossible to put his trial at risk of collapsing.

Here’s a problem for the GOP.

Trump doesn’t get to run again.
They're working on that one!

Im sure one could make up a lot of alternatives, have your anti American politics and obsessive Trump hating influenced yours?
Like in Alaska? Are you aware of the Indian Health Service? The ANMHC? Free btw,
Like in Alaska, right? The dividend for ASRC members last year was $6,000. Average wages up there are about $70,000.
the Natives own the mineral rights.
Why Puerto Rico? Compare it to the place where the Greenland-US relationship comparable. Alaska.
PS show me a landscape scarred by mining in PR? Show me the Native Reservation there too.
Greenlanders arrived in the 1300s, they are Inuit like many Alaska natives. Are you denying that they have been exploited by the Danes?
1) I am not particularly anti - American, although I admittedly dislike Trump and his regime ( rather like a lot of Americans). That dislike has been reinforced by his demands for other countries to allow themselves to be subsumed into the US.
I very much doubt that any regime put in place in Greenland would be remotely as benign as the one you describe applies to Alaska!

I am rather partial to a glass of cider from time to time - I wouldn't know about health benefits but it certainly makes be feel good. In my youth, when assiduously plied to young ladies, was known to aid procreativity!

Strategicly, having Greenland as a State or territory is a must for the USA's safety as a nation.
The Greenlanders, who are not native to the island have been exploited by the Danes for years.
Imagine: Greenland becomes a US state, with a constitution and government like any US state. Greenlanders form a corporation,(like Arctic Slope or any of the ANLCA corporations) that owns all the mineral rights in the country. In addition, the US Government makes a payment to Greenland which is used to establish a sovereign wealth fund that pays dividends to all Greenlanders.
We get Greenland, our companies get the resources, the Greenlanders become 59,000 Elon Musks and there are gonna be all sorts of jobs and developmement.
Bet the Greenlanders wouldnt say no to a billion dollars plus each.
There is an alternative narrative. The US takes Greenland. Their medical and social programmes are handed to the less than tender care of the American insurance companies, (effectively ended). The big mining corporations move in to exploit the islands resources (the real reason for Trumps demands). The indigenous people, who are largely Inuit, will be ignored, the Danes amongst the population will be expelled. We all know what happened to the Indigenous peoples within the mainland US when any resource wanted by big businesses was found on their lands!
Within 10 years Greenland will be like Puerto Rico with a much higher chill factor, the native people rotting in reservations, and the landscape scarred by mining.
Incidentally "The Greenlanders, who are not native to the island have been exploited by the Danes for years." The Greenlanders, Danish or Inuit, have been living on the island for longer than the USA has existed - arguably in fact for longer than White people have been settled in North America!

China's puppet the WHO showed how useless and politically driven they are duing Covid.
Get rid.
Without a doubt the way in which the WHO is run is in need of thorough reform.
It is however the only organisation in the world which fulfils that role. Health and fighting disease are global problems which pay no heed to political and national boundaries. The world stands on the brink of another pandemic - avian flu, which is reported as having already crossed into other species, in the US of all places! Wearing a red hat is clearly not working!
Moreover I would not be surprised to see funding and the role of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cut dramatically.

Quite possibly - some of not all the various steps suggested in @JimHuaHin's post before yours may well be put in place.

Perhaps.
But will there actually be an election in 2028?
Something framed perhaps along the lines of: Trump won a mandate in 2024, he needs more time to fulfil that mandate ...
Let us see what happens in the mid term elections.

Yes I do, because I can't see any of his campaign promises resulting in a reduction in living costs. His immigration and tariff policies, if implemented, will actually add to them.
Putin invaded Ukraine because he wanted the resources of the Donbas, the most productive agricultural soil on the planet. IMO Trump is taking aim at Greenland's untapped resources, which include rare earths, iron ore, zinc, lead, gold and diamonds.
He needs to open up "investment opportunities" for a number of very wealthy people who gave him an awful lot of money.
"Here is Greenland, drill baby drill, dig baby dig" would be well received.

The people in Greenland may not relish being part of the stellar American health system.
Trump is not even offering statehood, although he may offer a wad of cash.
It's a classic political ploy, foreign adventures to distract from domestic issues. Margaret Thatcher used it to perfection in the Falklands war.
Trump has produced a flurry of Executive Orders, which are going to have any positive effect on inflation and living costs?
When he next needs to distract/deflect from something that has gone wrong he will "release the files"!

Basically, can it be done?
I "manage and arrange" a weekly English Language Mass at the RC Cathedral in Chiang Rai. All our English Language hymn books were written off in the floods, and currently I am printing off 50 or so copies of the Order of Mass and the Hymns (5 pages a copy) every week.
The Cathedral has two projectors and screens which are linked to the Bluetooth network which would allow for a PowerPoint presentation instead of printing paper.
Can it be done from an Android Tablet?
Bear in mind that in technological terms, I am jolly good with steam locomotives and sailing ships, not so much computers!

Those who have IQs > turnips know better. We know the guy only says what he believes and what he intends, no matter how bizarre or whacked out it is, just like when he thought nuking hurricanes or injecting disinfectant were good ideas coming from his “really stable genius” mind. He still thinks he wowed psychologists by repeating “Man Women Person Camera TV”, as if any five year old couldn’t do it.
Well, he called the PM of Denmark---the nation holding Greenland since 1380---and told her she had a choice of giving it to him, selling it, or he would take it by military force. He also threatened imposing punitive tariffs on Denmark if they fail to bend to his bloated will.
Somebody tell the bone spurs coward that it’s 2025, and the days of Imperialism are long since dead.
If he does try to send US troops to steal the island, one should not be surprised if Putin decides to take back Alaska. Certainly, Putin has more claim to Alaska than the US has to Greenland. Until “Seward’s Folly”, Alaska was a part of Russia, and the State is certainly closer to Russia than it is to the continental US. Plus, Denmark has held Greenland for almost 500 years longer than the US held Alaska. Putin could re-rename Denali something like Dzerzhinsky Peak or Mt Beria.
The clown is going to make Americans personna non grata in every decent country on the face of the Earth. I wouldn't blame nations who might decide to ban entry to Americans, and send any American home who is currently resident. Americans are becoming a vermin the civilized world does not need.
Maybe all the MAGAs here, who support everything our convicted felon does, will volunteer for active duty in the Battle of Greenland? No, like their messiah, they’re likely cowards.
I am not sure using the military will be an option anymore - under their "new management".
The time constraints are a bit of a problem:
Monday is recovering from the weekend, Wednesdays is "happy hour" down at the strip club, which rules Thursdays out, and Friday is getting ready for another weekend session...

Badenoch Criticizes Starmer’s “Unequal” Handling of Southport Killer and Rioters
in World News
Posted
The protesters, rioters(?) or social media posters were arrested, tried and sentenced quickly and efficiently, exactly in line with the Home Office and Starmer's announcements before their arrest.
Ricky Jones (Labour councillor) was caught on video making his statements demanding that throats should be cut. It will be over a year before his case will even come to trial.
