Felicitous Felines: Beliefs About Thai Cats and Breed Characteristics
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We have 3 Mekong Bobtails not mentioned in the article they are a classic breed with short flat tails with a bobble on the end. Totally rule the house. The short flat tail is not detrimental to them -
1. The party hired a specialist contractor to vet and provide security guards. 2. The specialist contractor is fully responsible that is what they are paid for 3. Pita Limjaroenrat never met the guy 4. The party acted quickly and decisively once they were notified 5. This man posed a threat to Pita Limjaroenrat because he could have been blackmailed into providing security information to enemies or worse could have been an assassin 6. I note that the incompetent specialist contractor who made this cock up has not been named so that no other person hires them in the future

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
RobU replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Let's put an alternate viewpoint 1. Two allegations have been made against him. 2. Both allegations have been investigated by the police 3. In both cases the police found that no crime had been committed 4. The solicitor for the first girl has stated on her behalf that the allegations were pure rubbish. Her mother and stepfather made the allegations to the sun newspaper. 5. The sun newspaper is part of the tabloid press which uses questionable methods to get stories (as evidenced by the current phone tapping scandal) including paying for information to greedy parents 6. The sun newspaper printed a revision of its allegations stating he knew the girl when she was 17 (previously they had stated the images were paid for to a 17 year old) 7. No one knows how old she is now but she is definitely over 18 8. Sending or asking for explicit images to a lover or friend is not illegal if the sender and recipient both agree. What I see here is a tabloid newspaper creating a smear campaign against a respected presenter invading his family's privacy and domestic life. For all we know he and his wife may follow the swinger lifestyle which is not illegal and is no one's business but theirs and this 'girl' who is actually now a woman is now one of their playmates. Her parents found out and are cashing in getting money from the sun to 'expose' this lifestyle as a scandal when in the modern western world it is no such thing- 57 replies

Until something like this happens and it seems more likely to happen in Thailand especially in older established shopping malls which will have the same escalators that were installed when the mall was built sometimes 20 years old just like the Travelators at the airport

My opinion of Thai road construction and repair is poor. The finished product may be good but the process of construction/repair is sloppy and unsafe. Atrocious project management, stupid risk taking with both workers and road users. This section would probably have been extremely safe once it was connected to the other sections. The construction engineers failed to provide adequate support for the section during the construction phase and other people have paid the price

Chuan: Party With Most MPs Should Get House Speaker Post
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You are right but sometimes politics a cronyism rules. We used to have impartial speakers in the UK until John Bercow took the post. He's been refused a peerage and banned from UK parliament for this and bullying. -
I think the song by Tom Lehrer 'Poisoning Pigeons in the Park' would be most appropriate and embraced enthusiastically by the hotel owners. https://www.google.com/search?q=youtube+poisoning+pigeons+in+the+park&oq=you+tube+posoning&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i13i512j0i13i30j0i8i13i30l11j0i8i13i15i30.23487j0j7&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:47eb1b33,vid:YmPFT8EnLUg

When a swab is left inside a patient it is dangerous full stop. There is no potentiality about it. It will case serious problems such as pain (which this woman suffered) , mutilation and death if not removed. Your response was to a comment that 'what happened to her is not rare or unique' and you added 'or remotely serious'. and yes I can't spell anaphylactic I was always marked down in my essays for it, I have a problem with that particular word
-
Unfortunately you are wrong it is very relevant to her case. The potential for harm was significant. i.e. she was put in harm's way by this act. Are you starting a troll argument? Firstly you make an insulting comment that a very dangerous situation was not 'remotely serious' . The woman was in serious pain. Then you change tactics when I put you straight. Whether or not she contracted sepsis is irrelevant she was in a very dangerous situation it was extremely serious.

they don't routinely do a post op x-ray in the UK its only done if the the post operative swab count is wrong i.e. the scrub nurse checks that all the swabs handed to the surgeon have been returned if there is a discrepancy either too few or sometimes too many (someone opened a packet of swabs without telling the scrub nurse) then an x-ray is performed, The scrub nurse (or Technician) is the person who keeps track of where all the instruments and swabs are to ensure nothing gets left behind it seems like either someone lied or this is clinically a very sloppy and badly run hospital. Administratively of course it is very efficient as evidenced by them kicking her out and refusing to take responsibility. Patients suffer the pain and complications of such a mistake and it has taken some victims years to get doctors to authorise an x-ray for this purpose.
-
That is not true, it is extremely serious. She could have died from anaphalactic shock and sepsis, poisoned by this Item apart from the very severe pain she would have suffered. I speak as a former theatre nurse who worked in the Gynaecology theatres. Women die regularly throughout the world from the same thing caused by tampons, One of the reasons why Thai women tend to not use tampons.

Thai children losing out on height due to too little milk
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is pure Bull, it's an attempt to stimulate the milk industry by a so called academic who is probably being 'encouraged' to do so by the people who own the industry. A significant number of Asians are lactose intolerant and cannot drink milk, including my wife. Thai's steer (no pun intended) of milk and do not experiment with drinking milk. They certainly do not encourage children to do so because of the high risk of adverse reaction which includes debilitating diarrhea which can cause severe dehydration and loss of electrolytes and can kill a child. -
Pattaya Bus Driver Backs His Tour Bus into His Own Girlfriend By Accident
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
In another report on this incident it says she was thrown into the wall of the shooting range and caused considerable damage to the wall a picture shows the damage. What speed was this idiot reversing at? More likely he aimed at her and put his foot down trying to pass off murder as an accident
