  1. There's no emoji for flabbergasted on this forum so I put the laughter emoji to your post but my flabber is definitely ghasted.
  2. Grievous means very harmful. Passing on a disease such as AIDS, non treatable STD or antibiotic resistant Tuberculosis can eventually cause the death of the victim. If psychiatric/psychological harm is classed as Grievous then it is extremely serious possibly resulting in suicide of the victim or incarceration of the victim for their own protection
  3. "Many, like Rider, were convicted of low-level crimes and yet find themselves condemned to a lifetime of incarceration.' What utter bull****. Grievous Bodily Harm is not a low level crime. Ask the victims with life changing injuries, or resulting mental health issues. Of course we can't ask the victims who are in a coma.
  4. This article is copied directly from another publication which has got pictures it seems AN has stopped publishing the links to the original articles since it was put under new management. https://thepattayanews.com/2024/04/29/79-year-old-thai-man-defies-age-continues-selling-traditional-isaan-musical-instruments-on-jomtien-beach/
  5. I have seen the video. He is very good. He has rhythm and style. Better than any of the old fogies on this site who have never stood up to dance and probably just sit nursing their beers 'being manly' whilst the women dance. He isn't fat either
  6. If you read the article they should recline but didn't should also convert into beds but didn't i.e. not maintained so he was offered 5500 baht for the 'inconvenience'. If I paid business class I would expect these things to be working otherwise what's the point of travelling BC?
  7. The airline suffers from the usual Thai disorder. Buy new and never maintain. The only reason the airframe and engines are maintained is because there is oversight by the international aviation authorities, i.e. they wouldn't be allowed to land at any foreign airport without a valid airworthiness certificate. I suspect that reclining the seats and working video screens are not part of the certification process so like all Thai management they don't bother to maintain them because they are not forced to by an external body
  8. Yes, you are correct there are not many accidents. An accident (in this sense) is not an unintentional incident. An accident is an incident with no fault on either side. (e.g. if someone drove on the wrong side of the road and aimed at pedestrians to force them to jump out of the way, because he didn't intend to kill anyone, when he kills someone it is an accident according to your definition). Don't be daft
  9. Internal bleeding especially from a ruptured spleen which is very dangerous, not enough blood therefore low blood pressure. He probably was just left and not scheduled for emergency surgery to remove the spleen
  10. If he has dual nationality he can legally be banned from one of the countries and have his citizenship revoked. However that is a bit extreme for DUI
  11. It is common sense not to kneel on someone's back in the manner shown. It restricts breathing by compressing the ribcage. He died from asphyxia because the arresting officers were untrained in restraint procedures and incompetent
  12. So you are trying to say that no child ever plays with its granddad's toys or belongings therefore they must belong to the children?
  13. What he did was enforce the law. The corruption of slipping a few thousand baht to immigration to get around the rules for visas was one of the things he cracked down on. It seems many people think that police corruption should be stopped as long as it isn't police corruption that they find advantageous.
  14. Of course they have, this is a last ditch attempt to owst him or as least slur his name so he is dropped from running for chief of police. The methodology is not valid and they know it however they hope it delays his career sufficiently to be able to hide their misdemeanours.
  15. Cannot be published in the Royal Gazette if the method of dismissal is not according to modern procedure which it isnt
  16. Ours went off last night for about 2 hours, first time this year. Last year we had no power outages whatsoever which was incredible. I think solar panels and batteries are my next big purchase
  17. They forget to say that the larger the room volume the more it will cost to cool. I have divided both our bedrooms Scandinavian style with glass wall dividers and a sliding door, so that one half holds the bed only and the other half holds the wardrobes etc. i.e. a dressing room and small sitting room. Therefore a much smaller volume to cool at night and during the day in the dressing/sitting room but still have the sensation of relative spaciousness. Each original bedroom was L6m x W3m x H3m. Our living room is huge and costs a fortune to cool during the day. Hence looking at getting solar panels for use during the day
  18. No big deal. It's standard practice if someone doesn't work there. He was initially transferred to the prime minister's office. It takes time to get action done via the convoluted bureaucracy the order to remove the was probably made weeks ago.
  19. A highly secretive organisation using it's requirements for secrecy to hide misdemeanours and abuse selected staff for the pleasure of senior staff. Sounds about right.
  20. I am a former registered nurse. I worked in the operating room in the UK. Basically there is no need to wear a mask in the OR so the male dominated theatre technicians stopped wearing them. Yet the female dominated Nursing staff insisted on keeping them. The reason being that even the plainest woman looks sexy when only her eyes are visible. My female colleagues paid great attention to using eye makeup which enhanced this feature
  21. Yes you will be penalised if you have not made your 90 day report at the correct time. You will be fined for each day you stayed beyond the date you were supposed to make your 90 day report ie. Until you leave
  22. I had a similar problem water main burst in the village all the water from my tank drained into the village system even though the stop cock was closed. Faulty stop cock which wasn't a apparent when the village water supply was at normal pressure
  23. 300 baht is peanuts tourists and potential tourists won't even notice it. This is a roundabout way of raising money for government coffers. That's fine if it goes into improving the infrastructure, but I seriously doubt it. It will probably be used to fund bonuses and pay rises for civil servants
