  1. Nominal 220, 50Hz but expect anything between 160 - 240.

Do check your power supply though, as most stuff nowadays has power supplies that eat everything between 70 - 240V 50 to 60Hz. The label will tell you. Those are good wherever you are in the world.

If it's 110V 60Hz only, it'll go poof (or BANG more likely).

  2. As On Nut is where it ends to be a free ride, expect it to become a lot quieter again when they start charging fees.

Also many gawkers using the free tickets to run the whole line back and forth, enjoying free aircon and views, getting off again at or past on nut, total price still 0 Baht.

  3. Trade it in for an android driven pad. You'll love it, promise!

    - Open source Linux based OS

    - Developer platform free to download, make your own apps

    - Sideloading just a checkbox away (download apps from everywhere, not just the market)

    - LOADs of free or ad-supported apps

It's no wonder Apple is fighting Google so hard on every front, they see the writing on the wall.

  4. Riel for purchases up to a dollar (conversion rate around 4,000 Riel to the dollar)

Dollars for everything else (get change in dollars and Riel, no coins)

Pristine dollar bills only (except for $1 bills which may be slightly used)

    Trashed Riel is fine.

  5. IIIRC immigration can grant you a one-time 7 day extension, 1900 Baht on a visa exempt entry.

    You can go in advance.

They will most likely want to see a ticket out of the country to grant it.

Immigration is in Chaeng Wattana soi 7, bit of a hike. If you want to go by public transport, take:

    - Skytrain to Mo Chit

    - Minivan to Chaeng Wattana soi 7 (25 baht, right outside of Mo chit station)

    - Shuttle bus to immigration building (free, right inside the soi, left hand side)

  6. Beware though that they are usually in fact hydrogen balloons, not helium, if you source them locally. Hydrogen is a lot cheaper, have fun popping them with a cigarette butt. And who cares about the fire or two...
