IIRC FM radio used to be used a long way back to provide an English soundtrack for some TV programs. With the advance of technology, this is no longer used.
Nowadays reasonable modern Stereo TVs (like 10 years old or younger) have a 'language select' button normally labeled " I - II " where you can select between two different languages, if the broadcaster supports it.
The payoff is, the broadcaster can either support stereo sound, or 2 channel mono, so it isn't always available. Also most broadcasters that do have the dual channel support mostly have the same Thai on both.
There are however a couple of channels that have life translation of news broadcasts, so just browse around. (Channel 7 and Nation channel I think)

Do you have a cassette player? if so, just connect the earphone out to the audio line in on your PC, set the volume and record.
If you want to go fancy, you can then MP3 encode the resulting .wav file.
-
And this is exactly the reason western hospitals use a psych eval.
FYI doctors here couldn't give a crap if you would have been qualified to take the op in the first place. You pay, they cut.
Please go back on your meds.

Ah yes, Minesweeper Consultant and Solitaire Expert. Definitely need more of them!

If you use > 30kW, and have your own transformer (so you buy HV) your price per kWh drops.
See schedule 2 and schedule 3:
http://www.pea.co.th/th/eng/downloadable/electricityrates.pdf
Also was referring to Naam, as he probably has installed enough air conditioners to apply.
-
You should consider buying HV and installing your own transformer at that usage.

A scam...
Bitcoin is a ludicrously bad idea. It is a scam. A Scam. It is not a currency. The economic assumptions underpinning the Bitcoin ecosystem are laughable, and ignore hundreds of years of accumulated understanding of how currencies work with each other.

-
Bubble is already bursting, people selling their "mining rigs" now that it costs more in power than the 'bitcoin' is worth. At least high-end video cards will be cheap for a while on Ebay, so something good may well come out of it.
Edit: of course the criminals using botnets etc. to harvest coins for them on your power bill may still come in ahead.
-
Bitcoin is nothing else than an elaborate pyramid scheme, the ones that started it did get loads, by the time it gets mainstream it's useless/valueless.
It's a nice green currency as well, burn electricity by the truckload to get more...
Anyways, idiocy.
-
So,
- You stained it
- You tried to clean it with whatever crap you used without checking if it'd work with the fabric
- You made things worse
- You tried to blame it on the manufacturer
- They would have none of it.
- You started days of arguing / threatening etc.
- They actually tried to clean up your mess
- and THEY are at fault?
What did I miss?
-
Could be, though it will prove to be very awkward on a regular desktop screen, imagine sitting hunched forward an inch in front of a huge widescreen tapping away at enormous buttons that don't scale with the screen estate, but are made to fit on the lowest denominator, the 8" pad.
-
Now your 24" wide screen desktop will handle just as shitty as your phone, with 10 HUGE buttons to choose from, but without the touch screen.
Great for disabled people unable to point a mouse at a small icon though.
I think it's pretty cool for tablets but pretty useless on 'real' hardware.

I thought the ban on smoking underwater was already naturally enforced...

The questions below about Australia are from potential visitors. They were posted on an Australian Tourism Website and the answers are the actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a sense of humour:
Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia? I have never seen it rain on TV, so how do the plants grow? (UK).
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die.
Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? (USA)
A: Depends how much you’ve been drinking.
Q: I want to walk from Perth to Sydney – Can I follow the railroad tracks? (Sweden)
A: Sure, it’s only three thousand miles, take lots of water.
Q: Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Australia? (Sweden)
A: So it’s true what they say about Swedes.
Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Australia? Can you send me a list of them in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and Hervey Bay? (UK)
A: What did your last slave die of?
Q: Can you give me some info about hippo racing in Australia? (USA)
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the
Pacific which does not… oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked.
Q: Which direction is North in Australia? (USA)
A: Face south and then turn 90 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we’ll send the rest of the directions.
Q: Can I bring cutlery into Australia? UK)
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.
Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys’ Choir schedule? (USA)
A: Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is…oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.
Q: Are there supermarkets in Sydney and is milk available all year round? (Germany)
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of vegan hunter gatherers. Milk is illegal.
Q: Please send a list of all doctors in Australia who can dispense rattlesnake serum. (USA)
A: Rattlesnakes live in A-meri-ca which is where YOU come from. All Australian snakes are perfectly harmless, can be safely handled and make good pets.
Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Australia, but I forget its name. It’s a kind of bear and lives in trees. (UK)
A: It’s called a Drop Bear. They are so called because they drop out of gum trees and eat the brains of anyone walking underneath them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking

Oh, no,
price was carefully calculated based on nationality of client, value of their home, estimated income bracket and chances of repercussions.
-
Please familiarize yourself with the whole thread before going off on a rant and ad hominem attacks.
You didn't state the price you are paying per kWh, the OP pays 7 Baht; Nor did you state how many units (kWh) your specific bills average.
Here's what the OP considers his REAL electricity usage to be (in kWh rounded off to the nearest unit):
Sep: 32
Oct: 41
Nov: 48
Dec: 61
Jan: 43
Feb: 72
Mar: 60
Apr: 91
May: 106
Sounds reasonable to you?
[edit] Seems the above rant was removed, so this doesn't make much sense anymore. Consider this a response to a flame.
-
It's neither a scam nor a mistake, using Tropo's numbers and my own (small apartment, occasional aircon use) which gives around the same numbers, his expected usage is about a factor 10 off from reality.
Which is exactly what he is claiming is the "problem" with his meter.
His air conditioning bill was probably a lot lower in Siberia, while using other (non-electrical) methods of heating.
-
If they do hotel curtains as well, try to find a hotel manager and see what / how they pay. They will of course have a discount but you will then know if your quote is in the ballpark or not, which makes your case stronger.
If they are going to make your life difficult, use this and go pay them a visit with a police officer and/or a lawyer. Should shut them up quickly enough.
-
AFAIK the foot isn't even a recognized standard in Thailand, you should have been quoted in meters or cm, or per piece. Thailand is metric.

Definately? who proofreads this crap?
