  1. stubuzz - looked at the document. It does not have a number on it but the heading [in Thai and English] says 'RECEIPT OF NOTIFICATION'. It then gives written details in Thai with English underneath and has some Thai handwriting on it. The details [going by the English subtitles] say I reported my address at x date and x time for x address. There is also a rather large red stamp on it. Hope this helps.
  2. I understand that it may not be a 'proper' legal requirement but when you are faced with an officer who has the power to let you submit your papers or not it is difficult to argue. My wife was with me [Thai] and was told when she goes on Friday to change her licence she needs a printed proof as well [easy to do just photocopied it for her]. An easy thing to copy and hand in so not displeased. Just thought I would bring it to the attention of the form. Thanks for your replies and comments.
  3. Thaitom - of course. 1. a copy of the receipt of notification of address to Immigration when I took up residence here [which I keep in my passport] 2. Passport data page 3. Copy of wife's ID card 4. Copy of house Blue Book - wife is the registered owner 5. 20 baht And that was it! Took about half an hour as they had never done one for a farang before but no problem and they were very nice.
  4. Excel - it was the Han Kha office in Chai Nat province.
  5. Today I renewed my Thai licenses [motorbike & car]. At the office I had to produce 2 sets of documents as usual - one for each licence. The thing that has changed is the residence certificate which now had to be from the Amphur NOT the Immigration office. Secondly - the papers had to include copies of my Covid vaccination certificate [I have the yellow Covid 'passport' following a trip to the UK]. No vaccine certificate - no licence! It was not just 'produce it and show' it had to be a proper paper copy and was attached to the applications. A new one on me but it was a requirement and I had to follow it. Just be aware this is happening.
  6. May I offer you the advice of a retired UK Environmental Health Officer? As with many things, there is no set level of noise [music or otherwise] in UK - and as far as I am aware in Thai - law. It is not a measurable 'noise' level which makes something acceptable or not acceptable. Basically, the problem is the level of 'nuisance' it causes. What does not cause a nuisance to neighbours in a detached home may well cause a nuisance in a block of flats or a semi-detached house. Over the years I have had to take many cases to court and although the magistrates have been interested in the physical noise levels they have concentrated more on 'nuisance' values.
  7. Hi scorecard. Used mine yesterday and no problems. Sometimes I have to wipe the card [gently] to clean it but apart from that not had problems. Could I suggest you pop into your bank and get a new card? If I remember rightly that are either 100 or 200 baht but if it gets rid of the problem well worth it. I had to change mine last year when it got scratched.
  8. Thank you all for your kind replies. bkk6060- thank you for that. I have based my comments on bank letters etc. and immigration on my own experiences. I understand from different posts that different Immigration Offices have different requirements. I cannot look at them all so will have to base it on my own Immigration Office.
  9. Thank you tonray. My understanding now is that retirement extensions do not have a 'consideration' period per se and I made a mistake including it.
  10. Dear Members, I have been asked by a retirement group to which I belong in the UK to prepare a copy of the details of the financial requirements for extensions for long stay in Thailand based on Non-Immigrant 'O' visa. I myself am on a marriage extension with 400k in the bank but have to admit I am a unsure of all the alternatives. Before preparing the document for them could I please ask Members to kindly either confirm my understanding is correct or correct me where necessary? 1. Retirement extension a] 800k deposited in account in applicants name only in a Thai bank. Deposit required 2 months before extension application and to remain for the ‘consideration’ period. After that the account can be reduced to 400k until the 2 month mark before the next application. No requirement to prove source of the money. b] Monthly income of 65000 baht [deposited in account in applicants name only] in a Thai bank with proof the money came from abroad. The income to be proved over a one year period. No requirement to keep the money in the bank and each month can be spent at will. 2. Extension based on marriage/parenthood [parenthood proved by a Thai court] a] 400k in a Thai bank in account in applicants name only – unsure whether there are any time constraints on this [I keep mine in a separate account which is never touched]. Does it have to remain for the whole year and if not what are the time constraints? b] 45000 baht monthly income [deposited in account in applicants name only] with proof the money came from abroad and has a pension base. Money can be withdrawn as required with no need for any particular balance to be maintained. Thank you for reading this and I would be grateful for any replies/corrections.
  11. May I suggest that anyone considering coming to Thailand in the near future reads the latest update on Thaiger. I don't know if Thaiger is quotable on the forum so I will not do it. The main point is that following the Cabinet meeting earlier today the matters have to go to the CSSA but as has been pointed out - as the Prime Minister is the Chairman of the CSSA and he approved the items in Cabinet today I would suggest he is not likely to overrule himself!
  12. WalsallRobbo - just done the trip 26 Nov - 20 Dec. Have written a complete list of things to do and what is required in a thread posted on 20 Dec - suggest you check it out. Things have changed a little such as UK now requiring pre-flight PCR which they didn't when I flew. As I was in Cannock I used Walsall testing place for my PCR prior to flying back. Great service and price. Will let you have details if you pm me.
  13. Hi gejohesch, I travelled to the UK from Thailand and return [19 November to 20 December] and posted a thread earlier giving all details of paperwork etc. At no time in any of the journeys or arrival in Thailand was the MorchanaApp mentioned by anybody. Good job really as I don't use a smartphone so could not have downloaded it anyway.
  14. OJAS - although the hospital vaccination certificate could be accepted by UK government, during my stay at several venues I was required to produce vaccination 'evidence' and the IVC was much more 'official looking'' and recognisable. At a cost of 50 baht and just a little of my time I think it was well worth it. poohy - yes they did serve alcohol on the plane - quite a nice red wine!. I chose KLM because of the transfer times - roughly 1 hour each way - and because of the arrival & departure times. OK - KLM are average but timing happened to be important to me.
  15. Don't know if this helps you but every month I send the same amount to my Bangkok Bank account from the UK using Wise [formally TransferWise]. On their website you can select to send a set amount in baht. Obviously the amount you pay from your out of country bank [mine is the UK] changes, but the deposit in the Thai bank is always the same.
  16. Hi traveller, I can only tell you of my own experience. Tested on Friday 17th December for flight on 19th [UK]. Testing company insisted on my passport and it was entered on my test certificate as one of the 'Patient Details'. This was obviously available to the officials who checked it during my flights [BHX-AAMS-BKK] so as it was on there I didn't get asked any questions. The testing company indicated it was mandatory for the test/fit to fly certificate.
  17. Thank you sapson for that update. I flew to UK on 26 November when those requirements did not exist, only the 2 day lateral flow test.
  18. I understand not wanting to pay more than you need to. I feel the same but what I didn't want to do was put any possible barriers in my return. I can only tell you what I did, and perhaps I am over cautious but the peace of mind it gave me following the advice and the UK Embassy website guidance was worth it [to me]. When the insurance was checked, the re-entry permit was looked at and was until 17th March. I don't know if a period less than that would be questioned. Perhaps UbonJoe or some other more experienced member can advise you better.
  19. Tony M - I took advice from UbonJoe and when I looked at the Thai requirements on the UK Embassy web page it said insurance for the length of your visit. I also asked AXA. It can be misleading to look at 1 month as that is the common length for a tourist but as I was getting an entry stamped until 17th March 2022 that was the length of my 'visit'. I was advised by UbonJoe and others that i do not have to renew the insurance in March as technically I will not be 'entering' the country or need any passes - just a normal extension to my Non-Imm 'O' based on marriage to a Thai,
  20. Tony M - should have also told you I am 71 years old.
  21. Tony M - I bought AXA [Thailand] insurance. The period was 20th Dec 2021 [my landing date] to 18th March 2022 the day after my annual extension expires. The cost was 6,200 baht.
  22. I thought it might help some forum members if I detailed the 3 week visit to the UK I have just completed. I am actually in my ‘test & go’ hotel at the moment awaiting my test result. Firstly – I cannot emphasise enough the necessity of following procedures and getting the right documents. Different documents were asked for at different stages of the journeys and it is important to have them readily available. Following advice on the forum I made sure all my documents were printed and not electronic or stored on a smartphone [which I don’t have]. Step 1 – READ! Read everything you can both about Thailand re-entry and UK entry. Only by a little research and noting the requirements can you hope to do it straightforwardly. My flights were BKK-AMS-BHX. 1. Got re-entry permit from my local Immigration Office [on a yearly marriage extension] 2. Got an International Vaccination Certificate from my local Health Department Office – very easy with the certificate from the hospital which had given me the jabs [2 x Pfizer]. 3. Applied for and got Thai Pass while still in Thailand – bought required $50,000 insurance, booked 1 day ‘test & go’ hotel in Bangkok [essential it is marked ‘PAID’], bought air ticket. 4. Checked with airline [KLM] about their requirements. They needed a Health Declaration for Travellers to transit in Schilphol [downloadable from Netherlands Government website - needed 2 – one for outgoing flights and one for incoming] 5. Checked UK Government website for UK entry requirements [UK citizen fully vaccinated]. Downloaded and completed the UK Passenger Locator Form. 6. Booked [and MUST be paid for] Day 2 Lateral Flow Test with UK supplier. All the above were done in Thailand before travel. In the UK 1. Booked RT-PCR test with approved UK supplier for 48 hours before return flight. 2. Contacted KLM to see if any changes – there were! Needed to complete a Basic Health Assessment Corona [Covid-19] form in addition to the transit form for Schiphol. The complete list of documents I carried: 1. Passport data page 2. Re-entry permit 3. Flight ticket & summary 4. Thai Pass 5. Test & Go hotel receipted booking 6. International Vaccine Certificate 7. Insurance Certificate [$50,000] 8. UK Passenger Locator Form 9. 2-day Lateral Flow Test booking receipt [UK] & result 10. UK RT-PCR test before fly booking and result 11. Netherlands Health Declaration for Travellers [1 for in and 1 for out at Schiphol] 12. Netherlands Basic Health Assessment Corona [Covid-19] Sounds a lot I know but all were asked for at different stages except my passport date page. Notes on Schiphol – returning you have to report to a different boarding gate from the one you are flying from. For me it was Gate F2 where an official checked my documents and put a sticker on my passport which allowed me to go to the boarding gate F7. Hope this helps someone. If anyone wants the details of the suppliers I used I will give them.
  23. Am I correct in thinking I do not have to report my return to Thailand to Immigration? I am returning after a 3 week trip to the UK tomorrow and after the 1 day test & go returning to my registered address. Thanks.
