The OP is talking about the T8 form, not the TM6 or TM8.  This is a Covid era form, but I'm not sure if it's still required or not.  Here's a copy of one I saved a while back but I don't even know if it's still the same or has been updated since then.

    Yes,

This is the form I was referring too. It was somewhat associated with that app mentioned in the title. Was hoping some person who made it into Thailand recently could confirm.

Came from New Zealand last month.

Was required by consulate to complete a CO19 test before submitting application for COE then another <72 hrs before departure so yes it depends very much which embassy you are dealing with.(2x tests at $340 each)Yes did question this but at end of day are you going to argue with Embassy staff and miss very limited opportunity.

As was flying on a Saturday was told would take 48+ hr for 2nd test so went on a tuesday.(Probably the most stressful time as 1st test took 5 days to get results) so anxiety at level 10

Results from Lab came back on a Thursday and then had fit to fly letter also stamped from doctor and time stamped at that time. Did not show airline original covid test result only Fit to fly and other Embassy form stating covid free< 72hrs before.

The airline did go through and check those times were correct so be aware.

As had layover of 18hrs in Singapore was well over 72hrs when landed in Bangkok. Was not asked to do a test on arrival but on 2nd day in ASQ had 1st test.

    Regards

Same situation here in Vietnam embassy. Seems ridiculously excessive to have to go and seek a test two weeks before the flight....then another right before(this one I get) ????

Reliable who knows really, a lot of travel insurance they all have mixed reviews about paying out I mean its cheap "you get what you pay for" and yes it works for the COE purpose I used it to gain entry. I bought it because they make a good letter to show for the COE (since I have my normal health insurance in Thailand) it says the 100k coverage your name plus it says it covers covid 19 in that letter. Other insurances had a hard time writing a nice one without having to point things out to the consulate. I used world nomads at first and they had me highlight where does it show the 100k and covid 19 coverage. But other than that if you want a comprehensive coverage I would rely on something else.

Thanks for your experience and feedback, looks like exactly what I need. How quick did you receive the policy and letter after sign up?

I was hoping to hear that in my case (non-Imm "O" visa based on family) the length of insurance coverage they required would be the same 90 day as the permission to stay provided by the visa.

Trawick offers a decent price on COVID only travel insurance.  Just don't tell them you that won't be returning from Thailand at the end of your O visa.  When I told them that once I was inside Thailand I would be applying for permission to stay for a year, Trawick didn't want to sell me the policy.

This site you mentioned gives exact quote as the dodgy made site above I linked. Any experience with this company? Is it reliable and will it work for this COE purpose?

Edit: Looks to be exactly what I thought the other site was from this site.

    Why not annual travel insurance?

This from UK but presumably there is similar wherever you are based?

Travel insurance would probably be cheaper, I am just looking to see what cheap options others have used as I am not concerned with the best, just the minimum that would work.

I used Pacific Cross. 32k for 1 year. You can always cancel and get a pro rata refund part way if you want. Check the Ts&Cs for details.

Insurance companies care about your age and pre-existing conditions. Ethnicity / nationality does not factor into the risk calcs which define the premiums. Utterly irrelevant.

    Thank you!

That link I put in above seems like a good deal but the website looks a bit dodgy...can't tell if I'm literally just paying for a piece of printed paper!

  7. Can anyone tell me what company any of you went with and what the best price was? From the ASQ page on facebook, the cheapest I saw was Luma from Thailand for 7700 Baht for 3 months. I'm not sure if they are just pushing a certain company or not.

There was a link from this company awhile back:

    https://www.americanvisitorinsurance.com/

It's much cheaper at around $170 for 3 months.

I'm assuming one being a Thai company vs a foreign one shouldn't matter correct?

    But, you never know.

    Any info would be appreciated.

  8. I will also say, for places that were completely desperate from needing any type of business til giving them way too much business and power all at once, with the way these hotels barely get back to you and how most handle things...like some god complex BS.

I understand they are busy but really...

  9. Hello,

I posted this in another thread but figured it could assist some others as I haven't seen a thread yet on this topic.

Has anyone applied for the COE and Visa (my case based on Marriage) for one of these repatriation flights and got denied?

Since the Ministry has used terms like "case by case" just curious.

Seems each Embassy/consulate doing things a bit differently.  For the Los Angeles Consulate I had to make the repatriation plane reservation (but not pay until COE issued), from that get the ASQ, submit the flight and the ASQ for the COE (with health insurance coverage, etc...), then send in my passport using the repatriation reservation (and rest of package) to get a visa, then all was put together at the consulate.  Received my COE late this last Fri via e-mail, then paid for flight this morning (Mon), and passport showing up later today.  COVID-19 RT-PCR and Fit to Fly Dr appt set up with guaranteed 48hr results at the latest Aug 28th.

I'm at the O2 in BKK, 38k baht.  Did not have a problem getting the hotel on Aug 3rd.

Here in Vietnam, they are requiring covid test before I apply for Visa and COE and then another 72 hours before the flight, along with the required forms. A bit excessive IMO.

Is there any reason why I wouldn't get 'issued' the Visa or COE? Has anyone actually got denied?

Maybe I should start another post with that question...

I am hesitant on paying for a ASQ that may not be ok with refunds or moving dates.

    Hello.

    Appreciate the info!

Is there any specific way to go about this? Certain couriers, paperwork, weight limits, etc??

She was in the US with me a little over a year ago and don't believe she has had any international shipments.

When you say "Ship them in your Thai wife's name" As she is also the recipient as well, how does that work? Maybe just her roommates name at same address?

Just confused on how I would specify all this to the post office here in Vietnam.

    Thanks again.

Also, she was in the US for me a little under a year...I believe I have read..it has to be over a year..for this to work as well?

Ship them in your Thai wife's name.  If she has been abroad and hasn't shipped household goods back to Thailand within some period, which I think is two years, then she can send them in duty-free.  We did that when we moved here.

  13. Hello,

I need to send about 40kg of my personal used clothing and shoes to Bangkok from Vietnam ahead of my hopeful near future travels there. I have searched all over these forums and google but am getting mixed information on how to bypass the custom fees and taxes.

I will be on a Non O based on marriage and I read on this link below that you can ship your personal goods through post office preferably, you can bypass the customs fees as long as you fill out correct paperwork and have a list of contents and passport showing your Visa.

    https://siam-shipping.com/importing-personal-effects-thailand/

If anyone can assist me on this, it would be much appreciated.

  14. Hello,

Sorry for the bump on the OP's topic but I am currently in Vietnam, planning to get to BKK to be with my spouse.

I need to ship mostly personal used clothes and shoes, (around 45 kg) ahead so I can lighten my travels on any available repatriation flight that may be available in the future.

From my research, I should use the local post office for this and not DHL or some other courier service.

On the link in this post, seems to mention a lot of info on 'household effects' but not the 'personal effects' which is what I need in my case.

Can anyone with info advise on what are the correct procedure to follow to not get taxed on my clothes and shoes?

    Thanks.

The ban of spouses and parents of Thai children is beyond reasonable explanation.

Of all the governments in the world this current Thailand dictator is the most clueless and heartless concerning people he rules.

to all the posters who say Thailand is Covid free then great for your old age with retirement income. But most Thai people need to work and eat and most kids and spouses need their parents and spouses together.

Where is the above information coming from???

  16. From Vietnam, was quoted a flight out at the end of the month for $562. Usually it cost $80 max. I can't even consider as it was a budget airline and I have over 80kg of baggage since I'm moving there.

Never mind people jumping on 50k ASQ's??

Someones making up some loss virus profit with this whole ordeal, that's for damn sure.

I want to get back to my wife as much as everyone else...but I'm OK for now with this bs.

There are reports now that it's getting difficult to find available ASQ rooms since most of the cheaper ASQ rooms have been booked as far away as September by those who still don't have any idea on when they'll be permitted to enter.

That's absolutely unnecessary and actually harmful to the process, since  the vast majority of those advanced bookings would have to be cancelled or re-booked.

This situation creates an artificial scarcity for those who've actually went through the approval process, have been approved and now can not find available rooms.

    What a nightmare.
