  1. The rules you agree to when you rent or buy a condo normally allow for changes to the rules under certain conditions. So you shouldn't rent or buy a condo, if you don't agree to the possibility of rule changes. This is one of the many very good reasons to never buy a condo.
  2. If both engines are out, the backup electric hydraulics won't work immediately because the main electrical will be out. They would need to deploy the APU (back up generator) first. They probably didn't have time for that or were preoccupied trying to restart an engine.
  3. This video shows it at 49s. It was taken around 5nm out, well before the bird strike. I'm guessing they aborted the initial landing and raised the gear before the bird strike. They were warned about birds, and maybe saw lots of them in advance and aborted to try and avoid them.
  4. The gear appeared to be down for the initial approach. There is a photo that shows at least the nose gear down. Why they aborted the first approach is a good question. With a bird strike on final there is usually no reason to go around. Better to just continue and land. Guessing they aborted the initial approach before the bird strike in an effort to try and avoid the birds, or possibly it was a bad decision.
  5. Nothing? Really? What if they lost power to both engines at 150m? What do you think they should have done??? At that altitude they would have had about 1 minute to either land or crash.
  6. Weed is way worse than cigars. Or at least the smell carries much further. If you want freedom, go buy your own house on your own property and do whatever you want. Every condo comes with a long list of rules and regulations to protect everyone living there. If you don't like that, stop whining about it, and don't live in a condo.
  7. True. I didn't mention it because most people will get a lot of fat already from meat, cooking oils and junk food. It's not something most would need to try and add to their diet.
  8. Weed stinks 100x worse than tobaco. It really does. It's just rank. You pot smokers are just completely clueless about how bad it stinks. I have no morality problems with it, but the smell physically makes me sick.
  9. Eat more vegetables and protein instead of chocolate and bread. Takes longer to digest, keeps you feeling full much longer.
  10. Don't change more than you will use for sure. It's difficult or maybe impossible to change kip back to baht or anything else. Personally I would just keep my money in baht. You can pay for just about everything in vientiane with baht.
  11. A 737 has physical cables as a backup for flight control. It can be flown just fine even with complete hydraulic failure. It will just take a more strength to control the aircraft.
  12. Again, the higher than normal landing speed was probably because they did not have flaps or spoilers deployed--probably because of hydraulic failure. Both of those slow the plane for landing. They were probably flying the plane as slow as possible.
  13. This happened at 500 feet. https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/jeju-air-2216-muan/
  14. This happened at 150 meters above the ground at a relatively slow speed. How far do you think they could glide with no engines???
  15. After a failure of all engines, deploying the backup generator is necessary to restore electronics and other important systems in every modern commercial jet aircraft.
  16. On a 737 the only accumulator is for braking. The engines normally produce the hydraulic pressure. If both engines are out, you will immediately have no hydraulics and no electronics. The 737 can be flown with no hydraulics because it has back up manual control cables. There is a back up electric generator, but that takes time to deploy. That will give you electronics. Then there are back up electric hydraulic pumps that will restore hydraulics. That's what Sully did. The Jeju plane was so low, that they likely did not have time to get through these steps to restore hydraulics and then lower the gear and flaps.
  17. You mean your list of guesswork? Most of those are rather obvious and well know. If you have some that aren't clear to you, ask and I can show you the particular link.
  18. The aircraft stopped transmitting location data shortly after they declared an emergency.
  19. Watch all the videos posted on this thread already. All this info is in them.
  20. Note also that gear hydraulics are run by the left engine (the one that appears to be completely off), and the flaps and spoiler hydraulics are run by the right engine. Something else pointing to a double engine failure.
  21. The running engine was the one hit by a bird in the video. You have no way to know it was "fine". Given the electrical failure, it is likely that engine was severely damaged also.
  22. No way to know for sure until you try it. Things are changing fast, and several formerly safe same day crossings now require overnight stays . Don't try it without bringing some extra cash in case you get stuck in Myanmar for a few days.
  23. Given what we know: One engine out while landing Other running engine was hit by bird strike Electrical failure No gear while landing No flaps while landing No spoilers while landing Landed in the wrong direction for the runway Either the pilot panicked, forgot the gear, flaps, and spoilers, and landed in the wrong direction, or the plane was severely damaged and basically falling out of the sky. I think it's much more likely the pilot had no choice given the electrical failure and both engines were involved.
  24. From the videos we know only one engine running when they landed, and the one that was running had been hit by a bird, so it may have been in the process of failing. They came in hot because flaps were not down. Possibly due to mechanical failure. Diverting to another airport would have been crazy.
