In my experience as long as it looks and functions as a bicycle then you don't need a license or a helmet (although you might want to wear one anyway), I believe there is a limit of something like max 500W motor. However if we're talking more like an electric motorcycle/scooter that will do 70 mph, then it needs to be registered, taxed, insured and you'll need a license and a helmet just like a regular motorcycle.

Depending on the size you need it might be easiest to buy on Shopee or Lazada. Places like Thaiwatsadu can get quite expensive if you need it delivered. If you're in Bangkok there is a shop near the Phrakanong BTS station I've used before.

I need a new Computer – But not a Laptop – Any advice .
Jake72 replied to tomgreen's topic in IT and Computers
I'd go on Shopee and find something 2nd hand. Maybe one of these where you can configure it based on CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD etc. https://shopee.co.th/คอมพิวเตอร์-HP-ProDesk-600-G2-SFF-Gen-6th-Intel-Core-i7-i5-i3-License-Windows-10-คอมพิวเตอร์พร้อมใช้-สินค้าพร้อมส่ง-i.171566200.22357699085 -
Is it still considered potentially illegal to drive with your headlights, low beam, on during the day? I do it all the time on both car and motorcycle, but locals tell me it's illegal.

An advice needed - buying a used car
Jake72 replied to Hellfire's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
This is terrible advise, do not get an EV unless you can charge at home and you don't plan on making any trips beyond 50% of the promised range (including return). This is bases on real experience relying on my car 24/7. Don't listen to the EV Sunday drivers. Also be prepared that your EV will be worthless in 4-6 years. -
Why are you so sensitive and making weak attempts at insults? I owned a BMW before my model 3 and these are just some of the names: Bavarian Murder Weapons Born Moderately Wealthy Big Mexican Weiner Black Mans Willy Brought Me Worries Beats My Wood Borrows My Wallet Bothers My Willy Buffoon Made Waste Bust My Wallet Broke My Wallet Brings Me Women Bought My Wife Breaks Most Wrenches etc etc Never bothered me at all because it's a great car. You make it sound like BYD isn't so great and you're having regrets.. lol

The local EV cult seems to be completely emotional and not having any factual arguments.

Thai Beach Vendors using their slingshots on the poor Monkeys!
Jake72 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Monkeys are vicious and far more dangerous then soi dogs, have you ever been chased/attacked by one? -
So you prefer your car demanding when you have to take a break and how long your break is going to be? Did you never run into a charger promising 150kW but only delivering 10kW because it was broken, adding 3-4 hours to your "break"?.. lol

Do you sell EVs?. I'm pointing out the cult behavior, it's not normal.. did you even read my post?
-
Did you even read my original post that was fair and balanced based on my EV experience? but viciously attacked by the EV cult. Do you work selling EVs?
-
You really are a cult aren't you? Do you demand pictures? lol
-
Time to find a Mia Noi if you can afford one.
-
Not that I have to explain myself to you and your cultish snarky attitude, but I drove a model 3 in Bangkok, however I got rid of it after moving up country as it wasn't practical anymore. What's your experience?
-
lol.. are you part of some kind of EV cult? 😅

My biggest concern with cheap Chinese EVs is that they might go bankrupt, then the battery warranty is gone and you will not be able to get any spare parts. For any EV, make sure you can charge it at home, as in not living in a condo or apartment plus having a parking space for charging at your property, otherwise charging will become a nightmare. EVs are great for daily commute and driving around town, however long road trips are a pain with the lack of charging infrastructure.

Swiss national opts for jail after assaulting Thai woman in mall
Jake72 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What is the deal with Swiss men kicking, beating and murdering Thai women within just a few months? -
What do you mean here? I've lived in Thailand more than 20 years and the ones I have lying around have not rusted, sure some might be treated with Zink, but others are galvanized, the fence mesh is definitely galvanized and not rusted. The iron coated with the red and grey primer are also fine, however anything bare iron starts rusting within weeks/months.
-
I've used the red and grey primers, seems to work just fine. However these days I buy galvanized square tubes and beams whenever possible, so much easier, then you only need to paint the welds. It's a bit harder to get pretty welds on galvanized steel, but you can just grind the welds with a flap disc and paint them with some primer.

Once you start rolling you don't feel it at all, it's less noticeable than riding with a passenger on the back. Of course if you add a heavy load you have to make sure your bike doesn't tip over while on the stand. When I installed mine I tested it with 30kg of cat sand (it was the best inexpensive load I had on hand) then drove it around for a some time to make sure it was strong enough, no problem. These are similar to what I have installed: Some links: https://shopee.co.th/Honda-ADV160-แท้ศูนย์-(สินค้าแท้)-H2C-ชุดแร็คท้ายเบาะ-KIT-REAR-RACK-(BLACK)-ชุดแร็คท้ายเบาะ-สีดำ-i.161590177.18071770029 https://shopee.co.th/กระเป๋าเดริเวรี่-Delivery-ตะแกรงมอเตอร์ไซค์-ตะแกรงรองกระเป๋าส่งอาหาร-ตะแกรงรองกล่องส่งอาหาร-i.802214265.19876425816 https://shopee.co.th/กล่องส่งอาหาร-กระเป๋าส่งอาหาร-i.166684801.6226011392

Just tell her you lost all your money on some investment, or in case she knows you're working, that you got fired or your family got financial trouble and you have to send them all your income and you'll need to move to a small 1,500B/month room and now you can only afford to eat 2 packs of mama noodles a day.

For me adding storage space was a game changer. I added a medium sized delivery driver box on the back, about 50 liters capacity. I used to wear a backpack, but having a dedicated box on the back is much nicer. Now I often take the bike to go shopping instead of the car. However it must be mounted correctly by adding a strong cargo rack on the back, then you can easily carry a box of beer plus various other items at the same time.
