What is new? Thailand follows the rest of the world in behavior?!
In France , many Africans want to cross to UK. They are just waiting and built "shelters", which France is destroying every time.
Australia has people in detention centers, same as tennis player Djokovic. There are people over there already 9 years, cant do anything then to sit there and wait. They are somehow lucky, as there are people being dumped on an island, with nothing at all.
How about the USA? You dont hear anything anymore about the immense amount of people marching to USA.
Lots of Syrian people on a Greek island, going nowhere, but just sitting on that island.
China rounding up Eighurs for a brain wash in camps.
Just some samples. There will be a lot more
And i think to myself, what a wonderfull world , o yeaaaaaaah.
And the solution is ?

Been living here for over 20 years. Biggest beef if the exit visa I need to travel.
Portugal is on my list along with one of those cheap houses in Sicily.
I'm going to investigate them this year to see if it's really better than here.
I can recommend you the village of Corleone on Sicily.

The mods doe a great job of keeping out links to dodgy media outlets, and misinformation from members. The most credible members here backup their opinions with links to credible reports, mainly from "highly reputable medical journals" and such.
Most of us avoid the ones that are not "highly reputable". Sadly, some seem to gravitate towards them. Not sure why. Though a lot has to do with political leaning.
Unless being a doctor yourself I don't think most of us are able to judge the credibility of these reports. Just have a look at the reports in Thailand, Omicron will be endemic in one report another report is denying this. At least the ministry of health should be credible but it is not.
Agree with you about the political leaning, just remember the utter nonsense the previous "president" of the US was spouting and how many followers he had.

Germany seems to be less harsh, from there you can travel all Schengen, Switzerland is not part of it but you can travel there once you are in Schengen because they are in the free economical zone or something like that.
Turkey is not part of it so you can't travel anywhere from there.

Skilled Thai construction workers especially have been working overseas for years and are well respected in their industry. In Thailand use of Thai construction workers depends upon the Contractor, type off work, etc.
I've seen "skilled" Thai working in Singapore, they were shoveling sand. I also remember the "skilled" berry pickers in Scandinavia. If they are so well respected why ain't they working in their own country ? Type of work /contractor is BS, it's the salary that matters,in other words the workers from the surrounding countries are used as slaves. Just remember the way they were treated/locked up in their camps at the beginning of the Covid pandemia. Ever seen how they are being transported jam packed in an open lorry ? Not human and absolutely IMPOSSIBLE in the western world.

I think the Saudi meeting is a great benefit for Thailand. It's more than likely a way to supply Saudi with a cheap construction force, but that will be money coming back to Thailand. A lot of desperate, unemployed construction workers will get shipped over and their salaries will feed their starving families. I'm sure Saudi will dock a percentage to recoup the loss of jewels, and some will go into the pockets of the generals, but that's a small price to pay. Without tourism, Thailand needs a source of incoming funds and there aren't many options.
Are those desperate unemployed construction workers unemployed because of the huge army of Burmese, Lao and Cambodian workers in Thailand or are the Thai just not prepared to do this kind of work ?

What is AN? But sad you feel quoting highly reputable medical journals indicates being paid by the government. Bizarre.
AN = Aseannow and I am not talking about "highly reputable medical journals " but about the ones that are not "highly reputable".

But credible organizations like this exist in every modern country. Again, easy to find credible data. Sadly, many fall for the fake news on social media or dodgy websites.
Would you call AN a dodgy website ? Just asking.

Unless backed up with a link to a credible source, ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have my doubt sometimes about the sources AN is using and makes me feel like they are sponsored by the government.

The statistics, infection rates, advice, etc, that I've quoted in this thread are from the NSW Australian government and are published on their websites. Up to you whether you believe them. Personally, I do.
I believe them too but NSW is not the whole world.

No his news is all over the Internet supplied by such organisations as the BBC, SKy NEWS and even the WHO and many many more, perhaps you should try to come out from under your cloud of conspiracy and take a look at the reports by some of the best scientists across the world.
Surprising how many "best" scientist have come to the surface telling their stories, I am not interested in their theories an I do not believe in conspiracy.

China-made diesel locomotives handed over to Thailand
in Thailand News
Posted
No they are not electric but diesel electric. Makes no difference because they are polluting like diesel trains so no gain here.
You're right about the battery operated trains but in first world countries they use overhead supply lines.
