  1. Flip side to most of these comments is who is the one in the right ?? i have never seen a sign in a tuk tuk saying 200baht maximum fare in patong ! and if they where all hurded together in a hall and shown how to be polite these problems would rarely arise ie: why should it be on the shoulders of the customer to ask the price if there is no signs with fare amounts, you get in tell him where you want to go he turns around and says 100baht or 150 baht etc. agree or haggle !! not you get in he says nothing and trys to extort you at the other end that just goes to show they are all crooks ! so now it is a haggle at the other end if he doesnt like it tuff shit he should of opened his mouth at the begining and been straight ! its just a shame the german just didnt boot him out and take his tuk tuk for a spin for the driver being such a crook !!

  2. Yer thanks for that lopburi i got told some thing like that but did not understand what i needed to get translated from my passport and what office i needed to got to in bangkok so basicly its get a copy of my passport certified at the embassy and then get it translated and notarized into thai and then take it to the ministry of foreign affairs. Do i need to take proof of where i live with me or not ?

  3. HI there i would like some info on getting a yellow book ie getting registered on my thai friends house registration. I have been told to go to the british embassy and get my passport translated on to some sort of form and then going to a thai goverment office in bangkok to register it and then going to the local office in hua hin to get it issued ! confusing ! any ideas ?

  4. No we are in thailand and it was me who caused the badness, just being an arse i suppose ! But it's all sorted now and cleared up !. She wasnt being sneaky just covering her back incase i really wanted to be an arse as she has no access to my funds but i know her friends would of lent her the money if needed so as she could go back to the u.k . Thanks for all the advice ! feel free to close this thread mods.

  5. My wife i think maybe thinking of doing a runner with my daughter, she is thai and has both british and thai passports same as my daughter ! Going through a domestic at moment you know how it is !. Have just found hers and my daughters passports missing from usual place was wandering what course of action i can take to prevent her from doing this, i think she is just making back up plans !. I have read that she needs written consent to leave the country if the other parent isnt present but this is not the case as i have left two times on holiday with my daughter and never had any such requests, do i have any options to stop her from doing this ?? Thanks.

  6. I agree with the poster above ! ive been married to a thai national for nearly 10, years ! she came with me to the u.k hardly speaking any english, learnt english, worked and paid taxes, learnt how to drive and passed the theory which is in english, and passed the english test for her passport, and she has never had recourse to public funds ! But now if you want to take the love of your life back you have to jump through hoops ! while the rest of the eu flood to the u.k for benefits and freebees ! what a country !

  7. Ive had thoughts about this too and asked my mrs what would happen if my card was skimmed at the atm and my account emptied, she didnt know so went to the bank to ask, they said you wouldnt get your money back even if they found the atm tampered with ! What a joke !
