  1. Please explain. Are you talking about keeping the Thai Paypal account or what?
  2. I took my old certificate of previous vaccinations and showed them that. The vaccination was done on (I think) the fifth floor. I received my new certificate at the Customer Service desk which is on the ground floor just to the left of the exit. I can't remember any other paperwork.
  3. I enquired at Pattaya City hospital on soi Buakhao/Third Road end of September and was told they have a walk in service on Friday mornings for a free booster. I went in at approx. 10:30 and was vaccinated and walked out with my certificate about 11:30. Pfizer was the vaccine brand.
  4. I had already ordered and paid for 12 months bank statements and certificates of deposit of my monthly pension payments from Bangkok Bank. The previous year Immi had asked for those because my pension was listed as "BAHTNET" because it was directed from UK Pensions via Citibank to Bangkok Bank. Last year Immi accepted the monthly certificates because they showed that the original sender was the UK Pensions department. Same certificates this year with the same information but they now demanded that I get certificates from Citibank as well. I went back to Bangkok Bank, Jomtien 2nd. Road, and queued for the usual 45 minutes to ask for help but they would only give me the telephone number of Citibank in Bangkok. I did phone Citibank and they were helpful enough and said they would email me a form which I should fill in with my requirements of the individual transaction dates. They did email the form to me but there were only 2 lines that I could fill in, not 13. I considered going to Citibank in Bangkok to apply in person but that was the point at which I gave up and went to an agent. Agent cost me 15,000 baht and I wonder how much Immigration received out of that amount. Whatever they received, I considered it worth it because I had been really stressed out and the agent took away all that stress.
  5. My recent experience with Jomtien Immi tells me that they will see an opportunity to deny your extension in order to force you to use an agent, thus getting them a commission from the agent. I had been doing my own extensions for 14 years at Jomtien without a hitch until they started requesting things other than what they had asked for before. The items they required were difficult, but not impossible to obtain, and I had paperwork which was very relevant already, which I showed them . To any sensible person my paperwork should have been sufficient (It was the year before) but they insisted I obtain further paperwork. In the end I used an agent and paid a fee. I resolved to use an agent on all subsequent applications for an extension to save the hassle. The agent actually told me that even if I had obtained the extra paperwork they would ask for even more the next year.
  6. Could anyone recommend where I could get the pressure in my eyes tested in Pattaya avoiding the expensive private hospitals? I have been attending Rutnin Eye hospital in Bangkok where the doctor has prescribed Taflotan eye drops and has been asking me to go back for follow ups at 4 monthly intervals. The pressure has certainly reduced to normality but I think that rather than a trip to Bangkok every 4 months it would be quicker and more cost effective to find somewhere in Pattaya. Regards, thoengthaied.
  7. I bought a good quality mattress with a new bed in January from In Bed on Sukhumvit close to the junction with soi Watbunkanchana. I have been more than satisfied with it. It is firm yet very comfortable. Price of mattress was 12,000 baht. They manufacture them locally themselves. The young man in the store was very helpful in helping me choose the right combination of springs and fabric.
  8. That's the real problem here in Thailand....no enforcement at all. We have to accept that this is their way of life.
  9. Guys...thanks to all of you. I have decided to buy from Lazada from the link that Bruno123 posted. Just over 1000 baht and cash on delivery, but if it is the correct one I will save time looking around Pattaya. I've just disassembled the shaver according to a video on Youtube and, although I am a totally impractical person, I found it easy to do. Delivery from Lazada estimated to be 10th-12th Sept. so not long to wait. I'm crossing my fingers now!
  10. Yes. However my shaver is a Panasonic ARC 5 model and the new model (ARC 6) is priced at around 500 GBP, so I don't want to buy new unless absolutely necessary. I am currently searching for a Panasonic service centre. Numchai might be a possibility. I am intending to do some leg work this afternoon, unless somebody here can point me in the right direction.
  11. That looks good, thank you. But did you notice that it's "Pre order. Ships in 13 days" I think from Japan, and I need item quickly. Would like to be able to buy locally. Surely there's a shop which sells them in Pattaya area????
  12. Transam...I have looked on Lazada. That's my first choice of supplier but they are confusing. Do you have a link to what you have found there please?
  13. I have searched and found some on Aliexpress but delivery to here will not be until mid November. My shaver is rapidly becoming unable to hold it's charge and I wondered if similar are available in Pattaya area. Hence my post. If there is a shop which sells such batteries I will take the original with me to compare before buying. My first thoughts were Amorn or Mr DIY, but input from board members here would be welcome before I waste time and fuel.
  14. Where in Pattaya can I find a replacement rechargeable battery for my Panasonic electric shaver?
  15. If he's still there, Dr. Mason Porramatikul at Bumrungrad did arthroscopic knee surgery to my right knee over 10 years ago and I have had no trouble with it since then.
  16. I think that if you did a "good" search you would find many flight options with much shorter total travel time. There will be multiple options for a shorter transit to the second or third leg through the connecting airport. Probably different costs though. Do your search properly before posting such drivel!
  17. I did the bus trip to and from BKK yesterday. 10am bus arrived BKK 11:35. 4pm bus arrived Jomtien 17:40. These times were about 10 minutes better than I have experienced before over perhaps 30 trips. Price has gone up to 143 baht one way. Was 130 baht before.
  18. Rutnin Eye Hospital is definitely THE best. Maybe best in the World. You don't need your own transport to get there. It's so easy....Bus from Jomtien to the airport (www.airportpattayabus.com) 130 baht, One hour 45 mins. Airport rail link to Makkasan station 35 baht 20 minutes. Walk 10 minutes maximum to Rutnin via walkway through Petchaburi MRT station 10 minutes. Reverse the journey back. The hospital is definitely not expensive and has mainly Thai patients but you will also see many people from the Arab countries there.
  19. She may be very good but my experience with her is a bit different. I had been seeing her perhaps every year for 20 years whenever I detected what I thought was a solar keratosis lesion on my face, forehead or arms and she confirmed that it was solar keratosis. She then either did laser treatment or froze it. All OK until the next visit a year later. So after many years I had another lesion on my temple and decided to visit Dr. Anna at BPH. Dr Anna immediately decided to do an autopsy and a week later, after confirmation that it was a basal cell carcinoma, she removed it by surgery. That lesion has not reappeared after a further 5 years. Dr. Waraporn's treatments would reappear again after a year. It was then that I realised that maybe Dr. Waraporn was aware that the lesions would reappear and it was a cash cow for her. She doesn't now get any more of my money.
  20. Stay away from this forum. You're not old enough.
  21. There's always one <deleted> out there looking in.
  22. I normally leave my laptop, which is a chromebook, switched on all day, then shut it down at bedtime and reboot it in the morning. I listen to the radio (normally Fabulous 103 FM) and have it playing on my laptop thus providing background music in my condo all day. Even if I go out I leave it playing thinking it might create some security by thieves hearing it and thinking twice about invading. But I've been wondering if leaving the radio app playing uses extra electricity and is more costly than just leaving the laptop switched on and not having any apps or websites active? Regards, thoengthaied.
  23. Judging from the identical creases in those shirts they were all new and straight out of the packing just for the photoshoot.
  24. Did you stop to think that there is barely any Covid now because of the fact that most people here do wear masks? That's common sense to me.
