  1. Maybe they need to rethink the whole program? The schools and agents are largely responsible for the violations. Anyone would want the proper visa but the schools need to provide what was promised. At the same time, unqualified people may be willing to work under the radar, like the many Russians that teach English. Again, the schools responsibility.

Unfortunately, the compensation is far below what is being offered in other Asian countries, so there is motivation to cut corners. The Philppinos are a good idea, if the Thais were willing, they could get many well qualified teachers from India as well. The accents are different, but then so are the Scots and the Irish.

There is also a huge opportunity in all of the expats that are not allowed to help. I would be happy to help tutor the local kids for free, but currently I would be arrested and deported. My English is way better than the local Thai teacher. My Calculus is better too, but I guess they have plenty of STEM teachers around as well.

This is not enough of a solution. It needs a whole digital infrastructure to verify the document's authenticity, the continuing effectiveness of the vaccination, etc

It has been the solution for decades. No additional infrastructure required beyond execution for anti-vaxxers that might forge their documents. The vast majority would be authentic, just like the current forms.

An updated one linked to your passport would be cool, but it also creates a problem of loading previous vaccinations into the system. I would rather not go back for a dozen more shots.

I don't know if it's up to me or pure coincidence, but all the Thai girls / women I met had the traits listed below. Age from 18 to 60, different occupational profiles. Interestingly, Thai girls in America and Europe, whether pure Thai or semi-Thai, have the same characteristics. What I am talking about is the following:
    - gold digger
    - low self-confidence and self-esteem
    - propensity to cheat
    - selfishness
    - laziness

    - the need for others to take care of her
    - no interest in professional work.

Is it possible to find a Thai girl, but with opposite traits?

Mine is not, she takes care of everyone and is a hard worker.

You mind telling us where you got a PCR test in 3 hrs for $18 ? Inquiring minds wanna know.

Peoples Hospital #3 in Changzhou China. ????

There may be an idea here though. This is the main infectious disease center for the city and they are really well set up for this kind of testing. Maybe you should ask at whatever the lead hospital in your location is. The problem is not the time to run the test but the number of tests in front of you. The medical staff gets tested in an hour so it can be done.

I was a little lucky in that there is not a pandemic in China now, so the hospital was not overloaded.

    Wishing you all the luck!

We can all use some of that. Looks like I'm going to be one week behind you on the 20th. Submitting my application tomorrow... In case you hadn't noticed I've been riding your coat tails through the whole process, using your progress reports as guideposts. I can't thank you enough for all the detailed real-time blow by blow updates as you've waded through the morass that is the entry process. It's been a huge help to me, and I'm sure many others as well.

Yeah, the last 72 is gonna be a biatch, and I'm still working out how to thread that needle.

The 11pm flight helps because you can get tested that day if needed. Get the testing center doctor to do the fit to fly document. I had the document ready with the letter head so they just needed to fill it in and stamp it.

The most important step is to find the testing center and confirm yourself what the turn-around time is. I used the hospital in my city that was the main covid center. They had the best and fastest testing setup. Sample in the morning, results that afternoon, ready to fly the next day. I was in Bangkok before the 72 hours was up.

Make sure that your tickets match if you have a layover. It must be on an approved carrier, going into Thailand. Connecting flights can stop the 72 hour clock as long as it is the same carrier and the same ticket. If you use a codeshare flight, it must use the approved carriers flight number. Be careful on this.

The average turn-around time for PCR testing is about 3 days.

It's not possible to get a PCR test and results within 72 hours. The new "rapid" tests don't count? On some official Thai websites they don't state "PCR" but on others they do state "PCR"

What am I supposed to do?

    What have others done?

Mine was 3 hour turn-around for RT-PCR for $18. It can be done but not everyone is set up for that.

Is this really true? Im not saying they dont part with their money, but where does their money go? I would guess their money goes to Chinese tour companies and then to Chinese owned hotels. Not sure how much the Thai population who depend on tourism for their income see of Chinese cash. A liitle 200 baht wooden elephant isnt going to pay for a childs education

So maybe a piece goed back to China, but the hotel workers and vendors are all Thai. Most of the money stays in Thailand.
