Help Young Expat Hit with Stage 4 Cancer
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Strikes me as odd that a mate would be in a hospital, bed-side to a cancer patient without a mask.- 128 replies

Retirement Visa by the 65K thb method
mtls2005 replied to LatPhrao's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At which time you'll nearly be at 800,000. Admittedly 20,000 short and two months short of seasoning. What will be your path to an extension of stay based on retirement? Especially the timing? 30-day TVE? 30-day extension, 90-day Non-O, 1 year extension? The 800,000 MiB option is probably the most foolproof method. Some offices may not accept the income or combi methods for the first extension. Are you sure? Think Citi Bank is selling their SE Asia assets to UOB? Get a Bangkok Bank account as soon as possible. Don't ask why now, just do it. And start transferring more than 65,000 THB to that account via WISE. The income method is not a "work-around" it is an acceptable option so designated by Immigration "decrees". This option is greatly discussed here. -
Are airlines' test requirements same as US government?
mtls2005 replied to Enzian's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Antigen test is acceptable. Most airlines enforce the (final) destination country's requirements. Are you a U.S. citizen? The CDC site has sections for citizens and non-citizens. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel-during-covid19.html https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/noncitizens-US-air-travel.html -
Government to Offer Aid and Visa Services to Tourists
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Are you? Really? Or is this some faux shock like Capt. Renault finding out about gambling in Casablanca? Again, really? "Especially"? Do tell. So this is equal to what, eleven on your shocked scale? I'm shocked that you're shocked. I'm shocked anyone thinks "the average russian" bears - see what I did there - no responsibility for putin's actions. Helping russians to return home seems like the best thing to do. Coddling them will only prolong the problem. -
My guess would be no, they sell through distributors, resellers and retail outlets. They have a website, doesn't work for me though. www.britishdispensary.com HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found. Security certificate expired? https://britishdispensary.com/en/about.php Grab some of their snake brand prickly heat powder when there?

Government to Offer Aid and Visa Services to Tourists

Well judging by election results you're right. Only 112% of the people support pootin poutine putin. -
Tampa Bay has a very challenging schedule in 2022, Rams, Packers, Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, 49ers - not to mention a "home" game in Munich at FC Bayern Munich Stadium. https://fbschedules.com/2022-tampa-bay-buccaneers-schedule/# Yes, 11-6 should insure the NFC South crown. And the NFC pretty much sux, so maybe another SB run. LA, SF, GB won't be near as good, so who knows? ~ 20 ish free agents though, that'll be challenging. No bringing the band back.

Hold on a sec while I run back to "work", grab an automatic rifle, with plenty of ammo. Good to know the firearms and ammunition are stored separately and securely. /Not. Amazing more people weren't wounded. The forest rangers seem to be barely a step above technical college gangs. In thai history they've often been called to bangkok to do the dirty work of murdering pesky citizens.

The top page is a little confusing now. Which option did you choose? File PDF? Or File online? I think some us made the mistake of choosing the top option (PDF). I made it through but quickly realized I chose the wrong option for me. Try the online option, that's the one I used for all previous years.

In other words, he had not been to the "dentist" prior to the accident. I think we expect that the next vehicular homicide/manslaughter here will the the one which breaks the dam. It isn't this one, and there won't ever be one. I mean, I guess, if some chap mowed down a dozen school-children there might be some push-back?

Specialists from 3 Hospitals Invited to New Tangmo Autopsy
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Should be able to squeeze in another dozen autopsies in the remaining 100 days? Seems weird, and cruel, for mom to keep wanting one more autopsy? And why does she get to dictate these sorts of things? Let it go. There will be no justice, maybe some patsy will take the fall and spend less than 1 year in jail, and another autopsy is not going to change the fact that she's dead. -
"Promising" justice is an interesting statement. It's almost if everyone understands that justice is not some inherent right available to all, but rather something nebulous which requires a "promise", from the police no less. I'm sure joe Ferrari claims that his use of a plastic bag is also "justice"?

~ 15,000 russian tourists stranded in the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean country said it had reached a deal with hotel chains to "guarantee" the tourists' accommodation "until such time as a solution is found." https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20220302-nearly-17-000-russian-ukrainian-tourists-stuck-in-dominican-republic Seems thailand will have to accommodate the russian tourists for a long, long time.

Fixed broadband speeds in Thailand among the fastest in the world
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in IT and Computers
Figures include both fixed broadband and mobile connections. My guess is that these sorts of figures are weighted heavily, 90+%, on LOCAL access. Slipped to fourth place in January (fixed), 56th place in mobile. Source of the article, oddly the author didn't link it. https://www.ookla.com/articles/global-index-market-analyses-q4-2021 https://www.speedtest.net/global-index -
Immigration appointment
mtls2005 replied to fersken's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Initially they had, I want to say 18 or 24. And they had the time at 15 minutes. Now six slots, 1 hr time estimate. But then they dropped it to the same as the marriage ext, which typically take longer. Assume they did it for a reason? Or not.
