  1. There might be a difference between claims and reality? As for me editing my post... I guess to you reducing the size of the headline caps counts makes a post totally different? Because that's the only change I made. And I did it because I know the mods disapprove of oversized fonts.
  2. Well, I guess that makes poisoning the groundwater, OK then? The thing is, pipes can be replaced. Soil, not so much.
  3. Of course, you assume that they do make careful analyses on the soil. Seems dubious. Israeli Military Confirms It Has Begun Flooding Hamas Tunnels On the whole, however, the project has had limited success, the officials added. Despite large volumes of water being pumped, many of the tunnels are porous, resulting in seepage into the surrounding soil rather than a deluge through the passageways. https://archive.ph/mpwLW https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/30/world/middleeast/israel-flooding-tunnels-hamas.html
  4. I looked up your quote which you failed to provide any link for. And now I can see why you failed to provide a link. Here's the rule: Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source. https://aseannow.com/forum/158-world-news/ There's nothing credible about the sources your info came from.
  5. Well, then, it shouldn't pose a problem for you to explain it instead of responding as you did. Given that you were knocking the cost of govt provided healthcare as opposed to private health care, I think it was reasonable of me to construe the line you were following.
  6. Israel is certainly not targeting children because they live in Gaza. In fact, it is not targeting children. However, because children live in Gaza they are getting blown up. America, for one, has been persistently pushing Israel to use more targeted methods that are likely to result in fewer collateral deaths.
  7. How does the mixing of sports and entertainment work to their mutual detriment? Or to the detriment of one or the other?
  8. That article you linked to doesn't support the 10x figure. I'm not saying it's false but nothing there to support it. And given that the elderly are virtually universally enrolled in Medicare, you think that might have something to do with whatever disproportion exists? And finally, the systems other countries use to keep costs down are almost invariably described as socialistic by right-wingers.
  9. First off, an inept attempt at deflection. This is about lunatic right wing conspiracy theories concerning her. And when has Taylor Swift ever threatened to leave the US if Trump got elected? Pavlovian thinking much?
  10. Apparently, at least one former candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination does: https://www.newsweek.com/taylor-swift-republicans-vivek-ramaswamy-travis-kelce-joe-biden-2024-election-1865346 And then there's Jesse Waters proposing a Pentagon conspiracy Jesse Watters Floats Goofy Right-Wing Theory About Taylor Swift: 'That's Real' “Well, around four years ago, the Pentagon psychological operations unit floated turning Taylor Swift into an asset during a NATO meeting. What kind of asset? A PSYOP for combating online misinformation.” https://au.finance.yahoo.com/news/jesse-watters-floats-goofy-wing-161648717.htmlANd And there's a whole host of others
  11. It looks like the threat of US retaliation might have had an effect. Time will tell. After deadly drone strike, Iran-backed Iraqi militia claims its pausing attacks on US forces A pro-Iran group in Iraq says that it will halt its attacks on US troops, after Washington pledged a “very consequential” response to a drone attack that killed three of its soldiers. “We’re announcing the suspension of our military and security operations against the occupying forces to avoid any embarrassment for the Iraqi government,” Kataeb Hezbollah writes on its website. The United States blamed “radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq” for Sunday’s drone strike on a remote Jordan desert base near Syria and Iraq. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/after-deadly-drone-strike-iran-backed-iraqi-militia-claims-its-pausing-attacks-on-us-forces/
  12. I don't know what post you are referring to. In the post that you originally replied with, there was only a link to a haaretz article.
  13. And given the optimistic spin on that post of yours that I inserted in my comment, that news doesn't seem to have much effect on your reckoning.
  14. So if it wasn't discussed in this thread, what was your point? You think it's incumbent upon someone posting something to be au courant with everything posted in this sub-forum?
  15. Here's a post from you in this thread dated Jan 21. Considerably less than 2 weeks ago. Apparently, whatever discussion took place didn't leave much of an impression on you.
  16. Hamas regroups in northern Gaza to prepare new offensive Hamas militants have returned to northern Gaza, where they are mobilising against Israeli forces and rebuilding a system of governance, aid officials, Gaza residents, analysts and Israeli officials say. Elsewhere in Gaza, Hamas administrators and police maintain firm control of the south, where much of the population is concentrated, though civil order is breaking down in central regions. The apparent resurgence of Hamas in areas seized and cleared by Israeli troops during the nearly four-month offensive underlines the difficulties Benjamin Netanyahu faces in meeting his pledge to “crush” the militant group. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/30/hamas-returns-northern-gaza-new-offensive
  17. Harder and more complicated than some people's expectations.
  18. Actually, it would be you with your usual downplaying of Israel's grave responsibility for helping to foster Hamas.
  19. Jordan: Though the presence of the U.S. military is a sensitive domestic issue in Jordanian politics, there were around 2,900 personnel there as of June 2023 at the request of the Jordanian government. They were deployed there to support Jordan's operations against ISIS, to enhance its security and to promote regional stability. Jordanian air bases, particularly, have been important for U.S. intelligence missions in Syria and Iraq. https://www.axios.com/2023/10/31/american-troops-middle-east-israel-palestine
  20. That amoeba lives in silt. As I understand it, natural pools are designed to filter out anything that could turn into silt. So it shouldn't be a problem.
  21. If it's so little to y, why does Trump routinely make a habit of stiffing people he owes far lower sums? Why did he misappropriate funds from a charity to pay for stuff that cosot what should be piddling amounts to him?
  22. And that would be you being misleading by not noting that Israel gave Qatar permission to distribute the money and actually sent agents to accompany and provide protection to Mohammed Al-Emadi, the Qatari bagman. It was they who would drive him across the border. It's also instructive to note that when some Republicans wanted to go after Qatar for supporting Hamas, the Israeli govt. intervened on Qatar's behalf.
  23. Not exactly. To be accurate, Israel gave Qatar permission to distribute money in Gaza that would help reduce the locals' dissatisfaction with Hamas. It also had its own people provide protection to Qatar's bag man in distributing the cash. The monthly sum was $30,000,000. https://archive.ph/qUJwK https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/10/world/middleeast/israel-qatar-money-prop-up-hamas.html#:~:text=For years%2C Israeli intelligence officers, keep a power plant running.
  24. Actually, as anyone should know by know, The Art of the Deal is a work of fiction. Trump's companies repeatedly because he paid too much to acquire them. In other words, he got outnegotiated. He is good at stiffing small time contractors and such. People who can't afford to fight the bully. Carroll has the resources to take it to him all the way. And if the loon keeps on slandering her, he may well end up losing his entire fortune.
  25. "US government will go to pu sh their criminality defying the constitutional law of securing the state rights" I'm sure you meant something by this. Not clear what, though.
