  1. I assume you're referring to the Milankkovitch cycles which are reckoned to last about 41,000 years. And,whether or not it was much warmer in Europe 5000 years ago, or whether it was colder in the 16th century. I've got some news for you. Europe is a very small portion of the surface of planet earth. And the latest research shows it's been very slowly getting warmer on Planet earth after it got warmer very quickly during the onset of the latest interglacial period. You know, the one we're right now. Yet all of a sudden, the average global temperature is getting warmer at a far more rapid rate. You see, it's about rate which is a factor that denialists like yourself seem utter blind to.
  2. The economy is a mess? Really? Can you point to any specifics? Is the extremely low unemployment rate a probllem? How about the fast declining inflation rate? Depending on what Japan's latest report says, US inflation could be the lowest of the G7. Or is the rapid growth in manufacturing employment that you find objectionable?
  3. Jared's last name is Kushner. The person in question is Glenn Kirschner.
  4. I'm not sure what your point is here. If you're tying solar activity to climate, scientist did find that there is probably a very weak positive link betwen solar activy and global temperature average. However, given that solar activity was very very low for several solar cycles while global average temperature was rising at an accelerated rate, if anything, that adds to the evidence that greenhouse gases are responsible for global warming. By the way, that weak positive correlation disappeared in the mid '70s Some other factor had emerged to force the average temperature higher.
  5. Please share with us what is good about Trump's plans for his next administration.
  6. It's even worse than how you portrayed it. After DNA evidence showed that these 5 young men didn't rape this woman, Trump still insisted that they were guilty. 7. The question is what will kids in Florida learn about it? That slavery was really a vocational training program? With really strict mandatory attendance rules?
  8. You don't seem to understand that these cycles affect temperatures very gradually and over a very long length of time. Milankovitch,, the discover of these cycles and for whom the cycles are name, estimated that each of these cycles takes about 41,000 years. These cycles do not in any way, shape or form account for the relatively rapid rise in temperatures that Earth is currently experiencing. "The small changes set in motion by Milankovitch cycles operate separately and together to influence Earth’s climate over very long timespans, leading to larger changes in our climate over tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years. Milankovitch combined the cycles to create a comprehensive mathematical model for calculating differences in solar radiation at various Earth latitudes along with corresponding surface temperatures. The model is sort of like a climate time machine: it can be run backward and forward to examine past and future climate conditions" https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2948/milankovitch-orbital-cycles-and-their-role-in-earths-climate/#:~:text=Precession – As Earth rotates%2C it,the equator%2C affecting its rotation.
  9. The labor force participation rate includes the employed divided by non institutionalized civilians. So even if you're 90 years old and not institutionalized you're part of the labor force. In the wake of covid there were a big bump in early retirements. Obviously, that would depress the Labor Force Participation Rate. https://www.federalreserve.gov/econres/feds/files/2022081pap.pdf In addition, there is the impact of long covid. https://www.brookings.edu/articles/new-data-shows-long-covid-is-keeping-as-many-as-4-million-people-out-of-work/ And there is this: https://www.apricitas.io/p/a-historic-labor-market-recovery And there's also this. 11. He didn't learn the ropes early enough in his career to accomplish that. That he would even admit into his councils people who called for a military intervention in the 2020 elections shows how far he could have gone had he been a faster learner.
  12. Nonsense. Just because fascists sometimes called themselves socialists, doesn't mean they actually were. Actually, one of the chief features of fascism is the government aligning itself with powerful business interests in order to suppress workers. For one thing, actual independent unions get banned under fascism and are replaced with state-supported puppets. Large business interests thrived under Mussolini and Hitler until the fortunes of war reversed.
  13. Correct. And the early climate models created almost 50 years ago also got it right even though the computers they were using were primitive in their data digesting power compared to what we have today. In fact, because the infrared trapping properties of various greenhouse gases has long since been been accurately measured in laboratories, it wasn't that difficult to make predictions. Even 50-year-old climate models correctly predicted global warming Study debunks idea that older models were inaccurate Climate change doubters have a favorite target: climate models. They claim that computer simulations conducted decades ago didn't accurately predict current warming, so the public should be wary of the predictive power of newer models. Now, the most sweeping evaluation of these older models—some half a century old—shows most of them were indeed accurate. https://www.science.org/content/article/even-50-year-old-climate-models-correctly-predicted-global-warming
  14. What we do know is that climatologists' predictions are repeatedly being borne out by actual evidence. Whereas denialists have to keep on retreating from their previous claims. Study Confirms Climate Models are Getting Future Warming Projections Right Now a new evaluation of global climate models used to project Earth’s future global average surface temperatures over the past half-century answers that question: most of the models have been quite accurate. https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2943/study-confirms-climate-models-are-getting-future-warming-projections-right/
  15. Yes. El Nino is a part of a natural weather system. The thing is, though, it's gotten increasingly hot in both El Nino years. 1997-98 hosted a exceptionally strong El Nino. Despite that, at the last nine years have all produced ed hotter average temperatures than that El Nino years. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/climate-change-global-temperature#:~:text=Earth's temperature has risen by,0.18° C) per decade. That includes years when La Nina, not El Nino, was in play. Among other things, It cools the lower atmosphere. La Nina is the ounterpart of El Nino. They're complementary haves of ENSO, the Southern Oscillation System. . La Niña events have been observed for hundreds of years, and occurred on a regular basis during the early parts of both the 17th and 19th centuries.[9] Since the start of the 20th century, La Niña events have occurred during the following years:[10][a] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Niña
  16. A price worth paying: "Air pollution even contributes to the premature death of thousands of Londoners every year. It's not just a central London problem. 18. For what it's worth he changed his registration from Republican to Democrat in 2001 and registered as a Republican again in 2009. So for 8 years of his adult life he was a registered Democrat.
