  1. You may have an opinion but given that you never provide any facts to back it up, we should consider it baseless until proven otherwise.
  2. Once again a post not exactly chock full of evidence. Here's what evidence looks like: What Europe showed the world about renewable energy https://www.vox.com/climate/2023/2/21/23594544/europe-electricity-natural-gas-renewable-energy-russia Clean energy is taking over the Texas grid. State officials are trying to stop it. Wind and solar are rapidly growing, but Texas Republicans want to throw a lifeline to natural gas. https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/23577512/texas-clean-energy-wind-solar-natural-gas-ercot-blackout
  3. I'm sure you are just about to provide some evidence that the combustion of fassil fuels can be made to be clean. And what about the CO2 that's generated by combustion?
  4. Actually, it does matter how much ice there is. Ice is very reflective and sends back most solar radiation into the atmosphere. Sea water is not very reflective and will absorb most of the infrared radiation that strikes it. Warmer seas mean, among other things rising sea levels and faster melting of the ice shelf.
  5. Really? 5 stats show how Russia’s economy is withering Russia's economy has deteriorated since Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Its current-account balance has crashed, the ruble is weakening, and it's status as an energy superpower has crumbled. At the same time, Russia's domestic consumption and production are low. https://businessinsider.mx/russia-economy-crash-ruble-imports-account-finance-putin-moscow-ukraine-2023-7/ Russia's own economic figures show a steep drop in industrial output amid a record labor shortage Russian industrial production fell 5% in April from the prior month, according to the economy ministry. That comes amid a historic labor shortage, and the unemployment rate hit a record low of 3.3%. Russia's war on Ukraine has set off a mass exodus of workers and the mobilization of 300,000 troops. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/russias-own-economic-figures-show-041233574.html
  6. Promises, promises. For years now, right wingers have been claiming that shocking revelations are about to be revealed. Remember the claims that the Durham investigation was going to expose the machinations of the Deep State and that scores of people in the Justice Dept and prominent Democrats would be convicted of various crimes. One way to look at this is to call you people eternal optimists. Another way would be to say that so far you have learned nothing.
  7. I think you'll find that among others, it was a Senate Committee headed by Republicans that reported strong evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Including,, but not limited to the fact that Paul Manafort passed along campaign information to an agent of a Russian oligarch who had previously been judged to be a Russian intelligence agent.
  8. He offered an unfounded claim that the Covid vaccine had less effect on the Chinese and Ashkenazi Jews without offering any scientific evidence. If such a comment wasn't malignant, it should otherwise be classified as overwhelmingly stupid.
  9. *Deleted post edited out* Let's start with the last thing first. It's typical of your attempt to make things personal that you call Greta my my "childhood deity". On the one hand you accuse the media of engaging in empty emotionalism, and on the other you engage in it yourself. As for your claim that "Huge changes in climate appeared long before humans dominated the planet. You may have heard of the Ice Age?" What is it about Anthropogenic Climate Change deniers, that they don't understand the concept of rate? If you were to be offered 2 bonds that were equally secure but one offered in interest rate of 1% and the other 10% would you say that the difference in rate doesn't matter because both are offering interest? Global Temperature Reconstruction Over Last 24,000 Years Show Today’s Warming “Unprecedented” The study, published Wednesday (November 10, 2021) in Nature, has three main findings: It verifies that the main drivers of climate change since the last ice age are rising greenhouse gas concentrations and the retreat of the ice sheets. It suggests a general warming trend over the last 10,000 years, settling a decade-long debate the paleoclimatology community about whether this period trended warmer or cooler. The magnitude and rate warming over the last 150 years far surpasses the magnitude and rate of changes over the last 24,000 years. https://scitechdaily.com/global-temperature-reconstruction-over-last-24000-years-show-todays-warming-unprecedented/ As for people "ignoring your message", .. got any independently confirmable proof of that? One in six UK adults doubt human link to climate change - report https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-61965581
  10. Even better how about over a 10,000 years: Using this ancient evidence, scientists have built a record of Earth’s past climates, or “paleoclimates.” The paleoclimate record combined with global models shows past ice ages as well as periods even warmer than today. But the paleoclimate record also reveals that the current climatic warming is occurring much more rapidly than past warming events. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/features/GlobalWarming/page3.php#:~:text=As the Earth moved out,Celsius over about 5%2C000 years.
  11. Was the BBC claiming that outside your window the weather was blazing out. If not, why do you think that the weather where you happen to be has any relevance to that report? You've got nothing
  12. Unfortunately, that approach among conspiracy theorists is far from new. Amongst them, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Which is exactly how Donald Rumsfield justified the Iraqi war.
  13. Thank you for your insightful and cogent questions.
  14. Logic maybe. An understanding of semantics, not so much. Etymologically based reason is far from a foolproof way to undersstand the meaning of words. For example. Does 'awful" mean full of awe? It used to. Does "terrible" mean causing terror? It used to. Here is a link to those examples and more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semantic_change#:~:text=Semantic change (also semantic shift, different from the original usage.
  15. Let me put it this way. In the US, in areas where people were more likely to vote for Trump. and hence more likely to resist vaccinations, the more they were likely to die. Had people who refused to get vaccinated, heeded that "progaganda" and got vaccinated instead, a lot more people would have survived the pandemic.
  16. The word anti-semitism was specifically created to mean anti-Jewish. anti-Semitism, (see Researcher’s Note) hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious or racial group. The term anti-Semitism was coined in 1879 by the German agitator Wilhelm Marr to designate the anti-Jewish campaigns underway in central Europe at that time. Nazi anti-Semitism, which culminated in the Holocaust, had a racist dimension in that it targeted Jews because of their supposed biological characteristics—even those who had themselves converted to other religions or whose parents were converts. https://www.britannica.com/topic/anti-Semitism You can deploy all the etymologically based criticism you like. It's utterly irrelevant. If you have a quarrel with the meaning of the word he coined, take it up with Wihelm Marr. But you'll need to hold a séance to do it.
  17. How about this? "Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton has claimed that his reaction to being vaccinated was “disastrous” on his health. He has criticised what he perceives as “propaganda” promoting the covid vaccine’s safety." https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/eric-clapton-won-t-play-venues-if-they-require-vaccinations-n1274740
  18. Do you see that it has lots of links to evidence? Evidence that shows that Clapton offered his deranged take on the covid vaccines?
  19. I notice at least one ignorant remark regard hate crime law. Yours. It's not about what is said during the commission of a crime. The Federal hate crime law is not even a law against speech. It's a law against a crimes motivated by specified kinds of bigotry. Speech may be evidence about motivation, but in itself is not a crime under these laws. And thanks for your ridiculous over-the-top generalizations.
  20. That's a shocker: Eric Clapton's Covid vaccine conspiracies mark a sad final act Bigotry and ignorance, in the age of the internet, have a way of catching up with you. And Clapton’s racism and conspiracy theories can no longer be ignored. https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/eric-clapton-s-covid-vaccine-conspiracies-mark-sad-final-act-ncna1281619
  21. Why are you asking me this? And what's that got to do with the fact that the Republicans are using the bill to exploit the abortion issue?
  22. False. The Pentagon didn’t ‘admit’ that there are 46 US-funded biolabs in Ukraine he United States government didn’t admit that there are 46 U.S.-funded biolabs in Ukraine. The document referenced by far-right and socialist websites repeats known information about 46 Ukrainian-owned and -operated laboratories, health facilities and diagnostic sites that have received support from the U.S. The government fact sheet specifically states that Ukraine “has no nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons programs.” https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/jun/15/blog-posting/pentagon-didnt-admit-there-are-46-us-funded-biolab/
  23. If you want to know where the truth threat to free speech lies in the United States, don't look to the criminal courts but rather the civil courts. We're wealthy people including one former president repeatedly filed baseless suits against people who can't afford court costs and whose speech displeases them in order to silence these critics. Is Is that a matter of concern to you?
