Probably the home anti-gen can be anonymous but PCR I imagine very unlikely as someone has to do it for you and by law they are required to report any cases that are positive, as far as I understand.
If you are worried you have it, check the requirements for at-home isolation it may be possible for you to stay home as hospitals are overloaded.- 1

Live near Emporium looking to get a fresh haircut & beard trim for my b-day weekend (flying out of Thailand, don't worry not partying here)
All truefit&hill are in shopping mall so they are not allowed to operate but barbers outside shopping mall are.
Any suggestions? Looking for the best of the best.

Try the MedConsult clinic which is just north of Samitivej hospital. You can book online ( https://www.medconsultasia.com/) and if you book in the 8-10 am time slot, you will get results the same day between 8 and 9 pm. Lots of foreigners here. Note the remark on the website that cash is NOT accepted.
Disclaimer: I am not in any way connected to this outfit.
This is by far the best/easiest option available. Simple and straight forward with online booking possible unlike many others. Will book with them, pretty close too.
Thank you.

Read yesterday that 17% of people who visit the hospital have covid but this is probably for public hospitals only and not private ones where PCR testing is done (like Piyavate or Phyathai, recommended by Qatar Airways). Perhaps another good/private you can suggest?
I need a PCR-Test for my flight and considering booking an at-home service but I read they come in hazmat suits... not sure if I want to cause unnecessary panic in my condo (test needed for flight-purposes only)

And therein lies the problem. The vast majority of posts simply generate a template of responses from people who are passing down barstool wisdom that they themselves have never had first hand experience with.
The most active threads are basically the news where everyone can twist the topic around to their favorite gripe about Thailand.
As a counter-example, the Phuket expat group on Facebook generates 10x the number of daily posts that you’ll see on TVF but most of them are asking about restaurants, where can I find X, etc.
Here, almost any news about Phuket will result in 10 people telling you that Phuket is horrible and they can’t understand why anybody would go there.
Gonna hate hate for saying this but a good chunk of Thailand's (mostly Bangkok it seems from your response) expat community are just sad angry men complaining 24/7 and constantly having negative thoughts. Turning the smallest question/thing that can be answered with a yes/no into a negative thread that goes on for pages while not solving / benefiting anyone.
Before moving here officially, when viewing videos & threads about moving to Thailand most of them were really depressing and made me not want to move to Thailand, but since I've visited before I knew I knew this is just 5% truth.
Luckily recently there have been better channels like "Retired Working For You" with an awesome positive attitude and showing a much better perspective/side to Thailand.
If you focus on the negative, you will find the negative.
If you focus on the positive, you will find the positive.
Oddly enough when meeting expats most are chill.
Thailand is awesome. It ain't perfect and seems to be going downhill but it's still one of the best choices (excl. covid).
All a personal preference though.

Hmm I'm considering changing my return flight to Thailand from early September to early October.
Chances of life returning to normal (can go out to restaurants / bar) in September are very slim - would that be a fair assumption?
In a bit of a dilemma....

Quite surprised to see so many sociopaths in one thread.
Oh, wait...
Ah yes, you remind me of the beautiful expat "community" who like to be negative for the smallest reasons

You're making an assumption about some folks on here, nobody was claiming rules don't apply to them.
When Thai people are confused on what the rules are, farangs are even more confused. My question was not "will I get caught & fined" but rather "are we allowed".... The answer was cleared up saying not allowed, so I rode my stationary bike inside my condo instead and I imagine the others did not break rules either.
P.S Thanks to everyone for the clarification.

Every now and then there's always posts about leaving Thailand but the truth is, although Thailand isn't perfect (especially now, far from perfect) it's still in my opinion the best place to be.
Been to over 25 countries and can literally live anywhere in the world... narrowed it down to choosing between the US (LA) and Thailand (Bangkok) and opted for Thailand, at least for now in my 20s.
Has a lot of problems but Thailand is great. Unlimited restaurants of any cuisine, delicious food both cheap & fine dining, amazing nightlife including unlimited bars/clubs both on street & rooftops with awesome views, historical culture, affordable, modernized, fast internet, social people and money goes a long way (relatively).
Sure, other surrounding countries have their advantages in certain parts but ultimately as an overall package, Thailand is awesome.
Yah, you'll be back (or not leave)... this is just temporary depression that we are going through with covid and bad weather atm.

Same question, except for around 2-3 am near Victory Monument. I am leaning to yes because there is zero Covid risk. Let's see if a cop disagrees.
2-3 AM I can imagine almost complete peaceful silence around this time with no tourists too.
How come you're jogging at 2-3 am if you don't mind me asking?

Ha, good one, probably true.
Personally I don't think Thailand can go without their big holiday winter season opening up to tourism... that's another full year until you can get many tourists, it's gonna be a massive hit.
They'll have to open up for at least vaccinated tourists. Call me crazy but I see this as a very realistic thing happening, at least in November and on the islands like Phuket (but adapted).

Pre-COVID I'd have had no problems relocating to PI or Cambodia.
Pre-Brexit I'd have had no problems relocating to France/Spain for that matter.
This.
Right now options are limited and when options become available, Thailand will become much better then too (hopefully...).
ATM the best is to go abroad if you can (US,Europe or wherever is open) and return to Thailand once it normalizes.
I'm flying to the US this month, with a return flight early September. But I think I'll have to extend that ticket for 1-2 months as I highly doubt Thailand will be normal in September.
From the looks of it I imagine Thailand will be at lest a bit normal in October or November, if even then. Generally I'm optimistic so yah...

Some say curfew, some say if you look at official documents it's not.
Ultimately, can I go running on Sukhumvit Rd at 9-10 PM?

Immigration at airports have nothing to with 90 day reports. No problem to leave and re-enter the country without doing your report.
Your report will be due 90 days from the day you enter the country.
The thing is, I have not done my 90-day even once since I moved to Thailand this year.
-
I moved to Thailand at the start of the year via a Thai Elite Visa and 1 month ago or so finally the TM30 was done after covid delays.
I plan to go to immigration Monday to take care of my first 90-day reporting (yes, and pay a fine). However with lockdowns talks popping up I imagine immigration may close if that happens...
I'm flying out of Thailand this month... if there's lockdown and I can't do my first ever 90-day reporting, are there any consequences except paying the fine in the airport?
P.S have to visit in-person as it's my first 90-day reporting.

Check Emirate's website they had a suggested service that I used last year.
They come to your home although beware... it may scare the neighbors when they see the person in a white suit thing...Oddly enough last year she came in without a mask and gloves, and then put mask & gloves when she entered my place while doing the PCR test... kinda kills the logic when she could have easily gotten it with me in the elevator without the mask lol.

Hello,
I will have to do 2 business trips one in the US and then Mexico.
I was planning to go Phuket from Mexico but I just saw it's not on the country list.
What is the minimum day requirement to be in a listed country before flying to Phuket?
I can do 7 days in Turkey if necessary (Turkey is on the list) OR go back to the US for 1-2 days and then to Phuket?
Note: I was planning to fly to Phuket September 7.
Please advise.
Thanks

Let's be fair... "ThaiVisa" was never a good name as this forum expanded way beyond it and only a very small % of discussions were actually visa related.

I’ll never get why people come to Asia only to go into “McDonald’s” which they can have literally anywhere on the world. To each their own, though!
Agreed... but just because someone comes to Asia doesn't mean they came for the food.
Many Asians in the US eat mostly Asian food too, seen it. Nothing wrong with it, all a personal preference.
Personally, a good mix of both is the way to go.
Although for 30-45 baht you can get great local food while western food is 250-400 baht.
The beauty of Bangkok is there are thousands of restaurants serving DELICIOUS food no matter the cuisine... Italian, Thai, American, German, etc.
I've yet to find an actual authentic-like Mexican place.
Many great Mexican places but don't taste anything close to Authentic Mexican food

To be fair, you're asking people on here and 99.99% are just purely speculating, might as well flip a coin. Even if someone sounds smart, unless it's what they actually spend time doing it or making money off of, should be taken with a grain of salt.
Ideally go hang out around places where successful Thai real estate agents do in FB groups or wherever that is.
Look at what big companies or successful real estate moguls are doing, are they buying many condos or selling now? And if so, why? which places? what are they doing within your area you wanna buy a condo at? And so forth.
Only advise you should take from this thread is personal experiences, nothing else.

No clue is correct and this thread is about salaries in Thailand not other countries as you have just referred to so if you know nothing relevant, which it seems you don't, then say nothing

What are you on about? My comment is literally about your statement above in response regarding to which business would pay good commission in this economic climate.
Seems like you're having a bad day - grab a beer or coffee.

Used cars a digital business ?what planet are you on. Many of the tents in around where I live have gone to the wall already. Carry on dreaming
Example of a non-digital business.
Nonetheless, where do you think all those potential buyers were hanging out during lockdowns? Online. It gave much greater opportunity for businesses to advertise online with such a vast amount of inventory avaialble to buy from online (due to increased traffic).
Just one example of many. I have no clue if used cars specifically grew here in Thailand but I know in other countries the business has grown during the pandemic.
Offline business (used cars) saw their demand grew, then they hired a digital marketing agency to advertise. Now you have two businesses/industries growing at the same time.

Yeah but they're still the best bet.
What's the other option? none.
Look at the UK. Yeah, a lot of covid cases but look at the deaths... almost none. So far the UK is doing amazing.
Sure, another strain might come out & avoid pfizer & moderna... but atm you gotta do what you can
