Caution: Always check your entry stamp.
I have a 1-yr multiple entry and always get 90 days. Seems like immigration officer made a mistake and gave me 30 days instead, last April 17.
How should I correct it? Can I just go back to the airport and ask them to correct it?
Or if it has to be at an "immigration office," can it be any? Even one of the "satellite" offices? I work near Chamchuri Square in Siam/Samyan. Can I just do it there?

Any update on this?

A lot of the ranters love to attack "the Thai Chinese" and/or "hi-so" and attribute their wealth to being corrupt scammers, etc.
Yet these same ranters have been scammed by their in-laws from Isaan, etc. who are not the "hi-so" Thai Chinese.
Not just ranters but envious ranters, if you ask me...

To save face: just pretend that the people living on this island are not "real Thais", a kind of ethnic tribe very far from the famous "good people" in Bangkok.
To save face: The "they wouldn't pin it on Thais" folks are now saving face

What these "rich" Chinese kids allegedly did was abhorrent, but when (ultra numerous) poor criminals do this, I never hear the Thaivisa "falang" talking about "typical" poor punks.
Is it that so many Thaivisa people have a strong chip on their shoulder against rich Asians, especially Chinese? (Just a question)
Just look at how many other posts in other threads are against the "Thai-Chinese". Funny thing is, many of these Thaivisa people have been screwed over by their wives' non-Chinese Thai families and never by the Thai-Chinese, yet the anger is against this group.
I wonder why that is, considering that I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with Thaivisa falangs feeling inferior to rich Asians? (again, just a question)

Tried it. Without aircon, needed to keep windows open and curtains open at night, resulting in noise and lights from outside coming in.

Hi guys, does anyone know the situation INSIDE the BTS Skytrain at the moment?
Is it crowded? Or, should even the BTS be avoided?

It will be in effect despite House dissolution, and can be applied to your 2013 earnings.

Thanks Fletch.
Yes I see the box to tick to claim back... requesting for a refund.
But I wonder, is there a way to forgo the refund and then instead reduce tax in the *next* year?
Example: Excess tax paid 2013 is 17,000... can I carry that over to 2014 and then subtract it in 2014?
-
So based on the new tax structure, I estimate that by the end of the year, I will have *overpaid* by 17,000 baht.
(Even if my employer withholds nothing for December)
How do I claim that back? (Preferably *without* going through the hassle of applying for a tax refund).
Can I just carry on the tax credit and pay less in the next year?
Looking at my PND91, I can't see the item where I can input "excess payment from previous year". Is it there?

Although no visa is required for a Philippine citizen, Philippine nationals who appear 'low-class' or even 'middle class' are questioned by Philippine immigration officials out of suspicion that they will work abroad illegally as house helpers, bar girls, or even teachers/tutors.
(I'm not putting down your girlfriend; and no use arguing whether she looks low class or not. As a westerner you cannot tell unless you've lived in the Philippines for a long period of time)
If the immigration official has reason to suspect that the person will try to find work abroad without going through the proper procedure, he/she can legally be offloaded from the plane.
-
So when we file our PND90/91 this coming March 2014 (for 2013 income), can we already use the new structure or do we still have to use the old structure (since 2013 is past income)?

Sorry for not specifying... I'm in Bangkok

Hi guys,
Where/how can I hire assistants for a shoot? Basically just to carry stuff, hold up or lift (possibly heavy) lights/reflectors, etc.
Basically low-level labor but with at least a little experience (not just a construction guy on your soi who'll just throw equipment around carelessly).
Any suggestions?
Edit: typo

I agree with you, man.
But in the case where they're not working and just spending (but with no 10M baht to 'invest'), it's a gray area when we get to the definition of tourist. We can quote the legal definition of it if we want, but then that's the problem; these legal definitions and/or conditions change erratically and it could hit us businessman some day too (if it hasn't already in the past).
I get concerned each year that there might be a change in visa rules disallowing the multiple entry (just this year they removed it from KL even if you have a valid work permit and business, but it luckily was still is available in Australia).
What if, for example, they suddenly changed our work permit requirement from 4 Thai employees per foreigner to 1,000 Thai employees, since some politico wants to "increase jobs?" Before you laugh, we gotta look back at these erratic changes in the past and you realize you never know.
-
To the posters arrogantly scolding the long term tourists:
As a legitimate business owner and long-time holder of repeated multiple-entry B visas, it's easy for us to get cocky and say that others wouldn't have any problem if only they were "like us."
Truth is, we never know how erratic these visa rules are and we never know when even we "legitimate" (for now) folks will or can have a problem in the future if/when the rules are changed...

Any recommendations?
Preferably one who can pick up my friend at my condo and bring him to Cha-am (with travel luggage, so no bus or minivan recommendations please).
Hopefully one which speaks a little 'good enough' English so I can give directions to my condo (I speak some Thai, but not fluent).
Any info is helpful.

What's the best video format to shoot in and import into an ordinary iMovie on an ordinary Macbook?
Last time, the freelance-student I used went through lots of time delays just trying to convert the file first, into one her iMovie would accept. She now just insists it should just be ".mov" but as I've read, that's just a 'container' and not really a format.
I'm shooting this Friday just for an amateur video, what format should I shoot in?

If Zimmerman is truly not guilty, justice *not* served until Trayvon's family *pays Zimmerman* for the rigors of a false accusation and ruining Zimmerman's life. Suffering grief (even of your own child) does not absolve you from unjustly ruining someone else's life.
And if he shot your kid ... how would you react?
Well, if he shot my *innocent* child I'd be appalled.
If he shot my 17-year-old drug-user kid head-bashing guilty toughie, I wouldn't be surprised but of course I'd still be angry that they killed my precious thug, happy?
Oh wait... why's it relevant how "I" or anyone would react? A crime is right or wrong depending on how the criminal's parents would react?

[Caution] Got 30 Days Instead of 90 Days >'<
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
To complicate things... The long holiday and I must have my work permit renewed on Thursday.
Last time I renewed my work permit, the officer told me that with my 1-yr multiple, I need at least 60 days left on my entry to renew my 1-yr work permit (I have no idea why) so advised me to exit and entry just once so I could get another 90 days. (No worries about that as I enjoy traveling often).
Is CW open during holidays, etc?
