  1. My passport is almost full, with the last page half full, and with other pages having a 2 or 3 spaces enough for 1 stamp (if you force it).

I applied for a new passport, but it will take 6 to 7 weeks.

I plan to travel to HK maybe before the new passport comes out, needing 4 stamps (2 for BKK, 2 for HKG).

There's definitely enough space if the immigration officer "looks" for the space.

    Would I have any problem?

Based on experience pls, not a useless response like "of course it's a problem, those immigration officers a natural arsholes!" and stuff like that.

  2. haha.. :D

    From TikTokThai.com:

Just 350 meters from BTS Asoke, you can walk from the station (leaving through Exit 6) in less than 5 minutes. Elite Restaurant & Karaoke is right on the Sukhimvit main road just before Soi 18.. you can't miss it! If you get lost, though, their number is 02-259-0773 or 02-259-0774.

Update... was there today. It's not Exit 6. It's another exit. Anyway, it's on Sukhumvit main, opposite Jasmine City.

  3. I ordered for myself (alone):

ELITE PLATE (Lamb with roasted eggplant and potato on a bed of rice)

Taste: VERY good. Excellent. Lamb was very tender. I usually hate eggplant, but this was amazing!

    Portion: Put very little lamb.

Price: Quite expensive at 340 baht, considering they put very little lamb.

    LAMB STEW

Taste: Didn't like it. Tasted like lamb in "ketchup soup", although the lamb was tender.

    Portion: Very little lamb

    Price: Reasonable at 150 baht

    LAMB BRIYANI

Taste: Good, but not spectacular. Lamb was very tender.

    Portion: Good big portion

Price: Reasonable at 260 baht, considering they put a GOOD AMOUNT of lamb (I don't know why they put so little lamb in the Elite plate which was much more expensive, strange...)

    BEEF SHAWARMA SANDWICH

Taste: Very good. Beef was very tender.

Portion: Good, with lots of beef in the sandwich. Much more generous than the Nana shawarma stalls.

Price: Very good price at 60 baht, especially considering that they put a lot of tender beef.

    CHICKEN SHAWARMA SANDWICH

Taste: So-so... Not much taste, and chicken was very dry.

Portion: Good, with lots of chicken chunks. (but was dry, so didn't appreciate the good portion)

Price: Very good at 60 baht

    ^_^

  4. One week I purchased about $8 worth of gas and paid with a $20. The clerk put the $2 down on the counter as change, I picked it up and then remembered I had handed him a twenty...so I waited, and the other ten casually appeared.

Dunno about Thaland, but this seems to be a very common "occurrence" (I'm not 'biased', so I won't say "scam" LOL) to me in KL Malaysia whenever the change is less than 1 MYR (10 baht!).

Happened many times and the funny thing is... it "coincidentally" happened a lot when it was a Muslimfemale employee (wearing headscarf), and never-ever happened when it was a Malaysian-Chinese employee. In both case-types, these were low-level convenience store staff, so it's not because one is "poor" and the other is "better off". :bah:

Again, I'm not in any way saying it had anything to do with the Muslim factor. I'm just reporting fact that it "coincidentally" always happened with Muslim female employees and never with the other types, in all cases that I experienced. Has happened more than 5 times (lost count).

As soon as I notice change is lacking, I open my hand and say "Excuse me?" and then the lady "plays dumb" until I repeat start exerting more pressure and she suddenly "realizes" that she "forgot" and then gives me the change which she's already holding in her hand. :o

If she genuinely "forgot" (in all cases!), why would she already be keeping the change in her hand? Duh!

  5. A brother?

    * Newspaper section: News

"Right on the button Television actor Nat Thephasadin na Ayutthaya has apologised to his fans after a court sentenced him to one year in jail, suspended, for breaking his former girlfriend's nose."

The "other" English newspaper seems to say he's her "step brother".

*But Thais often confuse "step brother" with "half brother".

  6. I didn't notice that and I stand corrected. I apologize. :ermm:

Amazingly though... aside from the FATAL Crash on headline, the "dead friend" seems to be given tiny importance as it is only mentioned in passing... and in the middle of the 6th paragraph of the article.

The major earlier paragraphs seem to be mostly on reassuring the public that the 'star' is recovering and not to worry 'coz he'll probably be able to return to racing <_< , without mention of that unlucky friend. :ermm:

  7. It has been claimed that the mileage on gasohol is so much poorer than 91 that it isn't worth using. I'd be curious of anyone actually testing and verifying this claim.

When tested on my car, GASOHOL 91 from SHELL gave MUCH better milage than Regular 91 from PTT... the reverse of what was expected.

There's another thread here on PTT having "different" quality gasoline; I must say I agree with a lot said on that thread. :whistling:

  8. As much as Hamas, Hizbollah and other wackos talk of martyrdom, the typical Mr. & Mrs. Abdullah and family liking in Cairo, or Amman, or Abu Dhabi does not want to end up glowing with radiation.

Yet the majority of Mr. & Mrs. Abdullahs in Palestine voted for Hamas in parliamentary elections...
