I sincerely hope Phuket will take a similar approach and impose a 14 day quarantine from those in red zones at the least. The thought of throwing away the road map plans to open up because of a lack of restrictions and p$ss poor decisions in the short term is mind blowingly stupid.

I pray for the Thai people finantially and otherwise affected that this is not the case.
The percentages of positive tests quoted is very worrying indeed as inter provincial travel is about to increase.

So are your telling me we will still have a choice if you allow the private hospitals to pursue other vaccines right? Or that only the vaccine you decide in principal will be used and produce yourselves is what we will be allowed to obtain. Sorry, but I think I will wait until I have my choice Mr. Anutin.
Agreed, but there is a reason why the private sector can not yet purchase vaccines.
Thai virologist Dr Yong Poovorawan explaines why.https://www.phnompenhpost.com/international/thai-virologist-breaks-down-why-private-sector-cant-procure-covid-19-vaccines
There is probably a miriad of regulations involved in moving a vaccine from emergency use to general use, so it may well be a long time before those that wish to choose the vaccine they use can do so in Thailand.

"He said that 1,200 drink driving checkpoints following the new transparency rules would be set up to stop DUI.
In addition there would be another 1,700 checkpoints to check for other infringements on the roads.".........Which do not follow the new transparancy rules. Cha-ching

Songklod Wongchai, an analyst at Finansia Syrus, believes Thailand could see a quick rebound in tourism, citing the example of the Maldives which has seen hotel occupancy rates bounce back to 70-80% despite cases of the virus
Could this be down to being welcomed into the country with just a negative C19 test ?
Dream on Thailand, your reluctance to drop all the restrictions for the vaccinated will continue to keep most away.

However, tourists will be restricted to travel activities within designated areas?
what does that mean exactly. Sounds suspicious.
I suspect you will be able to walk round the hotel grounds. Still quarantine but at least we will not be staring at 4 walls

I have heard that the Chinese manufacture of Sinovac mass produced it, but the real reason I heard is many of many of Chinese will not take it because they consider it not a traditional Chinese medicine towards their beleif. And thus you have and over abundance of Sinovac.
Just mix in some Pangolin scales, Tiger organ and Bear bile. Sorted

I like many others was initially frustrated and angry at times that i could not return to Thailand early in this Covid saga, but i have now accepted the fact it will probably be Nov/Dec before i can easily return to TL. Hopefully.
I refused to play your entry requirements game and i still do !!!
This is not aimed at the regular Thais, rather at all the government agencies......
Watching TL squirm, panic and run around desperately trying to attract tourists is my daily dose of fun, it is highly amusing to watch.
After a year of thinking that the whole planet would put up with anything you threw in the way, with every stupid requirement for entry into your self proclaimed paradise and the "The whole world needs Thailand" attitude, it has finally been realised that your love of paperwork, your need to control every part of the country like a dog on a leash and the unstoppable Thai greed has prevented all the predicted hoards of tourists from visiting.
I can't wait for tomorrows episode

"Operation Shutdown Petro Scam" was chosen after they realised their first choice of

Personal health records are available on the NHS app and website. Both my jabs are there.
www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk I would like to think I can use this to get quarantine down to 7 days. Time will tell.
Thanks KhaoYai and Greenwich Boy.
I have the UK Covid vaccination card and i also got the nurse to fill in and sign the "other vaccinations" section in my Yellow fever certificate and also my Masta travel health passport but i would prefer official, digital proof of vaccination for peace of mind.
I will look into your links now. Cheers

Thailand braced for infections spike after detecting UK COVID-19 variant
in Thailand News
Posted
This seems to going on a tangent away from the article unfortunately.
From the bottom of my heart, i truly hope the Thai resilience to C19 that has been seen over the last year, wether from the tropical heat, from the spicy food, stronger bodies, better diet or whatever else has helped reduce the severity of the virus on the good people of Thailand, continues to minimalise the impact if the Kent/UK varient takes hold.
We all have loved ones in Thailand who we want to see again soon and this new development has me worried for their safety, and also fearful that all the recent advances in trying to open the country will be put on hold/cancelled.
