Patients who test positive for Covid-19 after using an antigen test kit no longer need to take a PCR test to confirm the result. Suphakit Sirilak from the Department of Medical Sciences says the requirement for a follow-up PCR test is expensive and time-consuming. In addition, the generally mild nature of the Omicron variant has removed the need for people who receive a positive ATK result to take a PCR test. The exception is people in high-risk groups who should still seek a PCR test and hospital treatment.
My girlfriend had this problem over a week ago in Phetchaburi, tested positive via ATK and informed her company of the result. Company needed a PCR positive result to process her sick pay. Went to local hospital for the PCR but was told they were unable to perform the PCR as they were inundated with cases and could not perform one.
After returning home and calling the hospital she managed to arrange one for 1900 B

At least 20 Thais applied to fight for the Ukraine. How many out of those "unfriendly" countries did?
Looking for a photo opportunity no doubt, then changing their minds after realising it would actually involve doing some work and they would not be able to look at a smart phone all day

"Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health expects Covid-19 to be fully treated as ‘endemic’ by July"
Only four more months of all the restrictions i guess, then it's time to remove the ones that are not making anyone richer anymore and just keep the restrictions that earn the most for the chosen few

Anyone who thinks they can light up a spliff in Thailand could be swiftly arrested.
CBD oil will be widely available and people can get a ganja leaf on their rice. The latter is already a gimmick with no proven nutritional value or even a decent taste.
And THC - the drug that makes the user high - is still strictly regulated and subject to prosecution.
Tourists beware.

Mods, forgive me if this is deemed as off topic.
Just a bit of info for the members of AN.
I am not sure how may of this brand of ATK are in circulation. After using three kits that
were supplied by a nation wide food outlet that my girlfriend works for (after informing them she has been in contact with a positive case), none of the tests have came back positive. This may be due to a bad batch however.
My ATK's from the UK and this one purchased from a pharmacy have both detected Covid

Watching my girlfriend try wassabi for the first time was very amusing, akin to her watching me bite and chew half a red chilli for the first time.
My pain lasted a lot longer though ????

I would also be very unhappy if a vendor turned up outside my shop selling the same produce and blocking access to the parking spaces people use for my shop

I guess I was hallucinating when I wandered around Sukhumvit last night.
Likewise. Just came back from four days in Kanchanaburi town, other than everyone wearing masks and fewer customers it was close to business as usual. Had a fantastic time ????

It is probably too early to draw any real conclusions yet but after looking at the weekly numbers for Denmark and Norway (as they have been mentioned in this thread) and also South Africa as they have been dealing with this strain the longest, i noticed some numbers that may or may not have some relevence.
Weekly case number change % (No info on which strain)
S.A +331%
Denmark +20%
Norway +28%
Weekly death change %
S.A -24%
Denmark -7%
Norway -87%

I bet the Africans the article is referencing don't give two hoots how the headline reads.
Those that will be offended have never stepped foot in the Africa's but want to change every thing that contains the word black or white because it's offensive.
Oh no, have i upset the snowflakes by using those soon to be banned colour descriptions.
This world is doomed

Hi,
It's tough to find any answers mate, i have been searching the site for hours trying to find out what length of insurance a returning O Visa holder needs for the Thailand Pass.
Try reading this, it may help a little.

I finally got on the website for the official consulate in Vancouver and found info about the STV.
