    There's going to be an urgent referendum in the occupied areas. A pro Russia vote is guaranteed, which would result in any attack on that area be seen as an attack on Russia. This might be really bad for Ukraine and the world.

Agree, it depends which side of the political divide the person accused of corruption is on to determine how it is treated.
