  1. Hi!

First of all let me wish u for your new born. Well, the way i see it is like this :-

I am 37 yrs old Indian national and been married to a Thai lady for the past 11 yrs and staying in India. She still mantains her thai nationality and we have two boys aged 10 and 5 years. The elder one was born in Thailand and the yougner one was born in India. The elder retiains his thai nationality and the younger one was having Indian nationality at the time of his birth, but after a visit to the Thai Embassy in New Delhi, India I managed to get a Thai Passport for the younger one also. We have since ten surrendered his Indian passport to the authorities here and he maintains his thai nationality.

I have sen that the staf working in any Thai Embassy in the world are more close to then country people and they will also go all out to do things for them.

In your case, I think that if your wife still maintains Thai nationality and has an upto date ID-Card and a copy of your marriage paper and a copy of your house register in Thailand then approach the Thai Embassy in your Area with all these papers and they should not refuse to give Thai nationality to your new-born child. They might also make a Thai passport for the child and then you might have to approach the Ministry of External Affaiars in your country to get a Visa stamped in your's child's passport. (Well, this was how it went for me.)

I, think things will turn out fine for you.

  3. Just saw a similar Query in this same forum about

" Long Time Overstay No Problem, overstay "

where people have overstayed for 15 years and have got of by paying a fine of 20000 Baht. If I try to copy this will I still be eligible for getting a thai citizenshp, for example if i dissapear and then re-appear at hte airport after 5 years from the date of entry into thailand ( if i can get away with the thing by paying a 20000 Baht fine...)

What u guys got to say....

  4. Hi Folks!

Just thought os taking the opinion of all u people out there who can guide me.

I am an Indian staying in India married to a Thai Lady for the past 10 years and having two sons aged 10 and 4 years and want to go and permanently settle in Thailand. I hold an Indian passport whereas my wife and kids hold Thai Passports.

Is it possible to obtain THai nationality with undergoing the cumbersome way of getting ur passport stamped with Non(O) Visaas for three consecutive years and without keeping 400K in the bank( as THai laws chage in July 2004).????

I think that there has to be away around this as the above procedure is even more stringent that what they have in the USA?????

kindly advice the best and the most fastest way to get a THai Passport and be able to go and stay in THailand without the above complications ?????

Also, a little bird told me to just go across to THailand and loose my passport and just stay there quitely for the rest of my life......

  5. Hi!

Got some info for you. I am "Legally Married **" to a Thai Girl and both of us reside in India now for the past ten years as I am an Indian. She still retiains her Thai Passport and nationality.

** "Legally Married" implies that you have some Somlot "Marriage" papers from your Amphur Office in her city where she used to reside in Thailand. Your marriage is still "Legal" even if you have papers relating to your marriage from another country besides Thailand.

But, personally I think, that having your marriage registered in your Amphur Office in her city where she used to reside in Thailand would still be a better and more powerful way of doing things "Legally".

Rest, I think, that you have forgotton to mention the following :-

    1. Your & your wife's age ??

    2. Your & your wife's present nationality ??

If you give this information, maybe I can give you some more advice.

    regards & best wishes

  7. Hi! Folks

Would appreciate if all of u out there were to reply and guide me as to the following :-

    1. I am eligible for a One Year Non-Imigrant (O) Class on the basis of my marriage to a Thai Lady and having thai kids with her from my Thai embassy in India.

    2. Does this mean that After getting the Visa and staying in Thailand I will still have to report to Immigration after every 90 days ???

    3. Do I have to keep 200k in the bank as proof or whatever for immiration ???

    4. Do I have to earn and deposit 40,000 baht monthly in my bank account ???

    5. Does keeping 200k in the bank as proof or whatever for immiration entitle me not to report to immigration after every 90 days ???

  8. Hi!

I am Indian married to a Thai Citizen for the past 11 years and she had been staying with me in India for the past 11 years on 5 year visa extensions. The same goes for me elder son aged 10 years who again holds a thai passport and is here with me on multiple 5 year Visa Extensions. My younger son was born in India but we got his nationality converted to Thai and a Thai Passport was issued to him and he is also holding 5 year multiple entry visa now.

NOW, I plan to migrate to Thailand and plan to start some computer work there.

I need U to correct me if my procedures to be followed are wrong :-

    1. Firstly, I plan to apply for a One Year Non-Imm(O) Visa from India.

    2. Now, after I get this Visa (Which I know I will) since I have previously held this same category Visa - except the vallidity was for 3 months), can I apply for a work Permit ??? Or in other words there is nobody who is sponsoring me presently from Thailand, so how do I get the papers that will enable me to go and work in Thailand and support my family there ???? What is the way to get about getting this done ????

    3. Also, I need to have a driving license ??? Can I obtain it once I am there, or do I apply for it from my country ????

    4. Also, is it necessary for Thai citizens aged 16 or above to go in for compulsary military training, whether U stay in that country or not ?????

Please let me know the best choices so that I can plan my trip accordingly ???

    Thanks

  9. HP and Compaq are the same thing now; the two companies merged. My Compaq Presario laptop (about a month old) is rebadged in the UK as a HP laptop. Same chassis. If fact I think the battery is a HP battery, but it also has a Compaq part number.

Why are you buying in Bangkok? For use in Thailand? It you are exporting you would get better deals abroad.

Thanks for the reply. Well i already know about pantip plaza. i was wanting to have some phone nos or email addresses so that i could contact the vendor before travelling to thailand. i plan to take it back with me to India as the prices in my country are a little on the higher side.

Well if u could help me with some details regarding the vendors who can give me absolutely down to earth prices for the laptop/notebooks.

where else can i get better deals???? i would appreciate if i come to know about it please.

  10. Hi!

I am planning to travel to Bangkok with a weeks time and plan to buy a couple of Laptop/Notebooks from there. Preferably branded ones like Hp, Compaq etc (Pentium IV's only)

I would appreciate of someone can tell me the place that offers the cheapest prices for the same so that I don't waste time travelling from one shop to the other.

    thanks

    Sethi PS

  11. Well anybody just clarify one thing for me.

I know that VATrefund is available for everybody travelling from BKK to anoter country on a Tourist Visa, but is it also applicable if you are travellinf on Non-Immigrant "O" Class Visa also.

I need to know this before i travel to Bkk 'cause then i can choose the Visa that let me get a vat refund..

  12. ::o: Hi Guys,

Sorry for te yellow color text, but I do not seem to know how to change it to black.

The Good news is that I called up the Consular Section of Thai Embassy in New Delhi, India and they have agreed to grant me a one year multiple entry Non-immigrant "o" visa on the basis of my marriage. Just let me know that can I still try for PR after getting three consecutive Non-immigrant "o" i.e for three years and still not travelling on the visas....

  13. Hi!

Thanks for a prompt reply. You mean to say that I need to have a balance of 250K in the bank in india to obtain the non-immigrant visa from here and i guess if i obtain it three times in a row i become eligible for PR in thailand. Do i have to travel 3 times with the visa or just obtaining it for three consecutive years in a row would still make me eligible for PR.

  14. Hi !

Anybody know how I can obtain Thai Nationality/Passport????

I am presently aged 37yrs and married to a thai national staying with me in india for the past 10 yrs. My wife has got Thai Nationality/Passport and my two sons aged 3 and 10 years are holding thai nationality/passports.

I plan to migrate to Thailand within a year's time and the only thing bothering me is the visa runs that i will have to do. Is there a way that i can obtain a permanent thai nationality /passport so that the problem is permanently solved, since i plan to stay in thailand only.

Somebody told me that there are agents in Bangkok who can get the thing done for you if you pay them their commission, but I am not sure.

Please let me know at the earliest......
